The injury bug is biting the Bucs hard this season. And it damn near cost them their best (?) running back.
Sunday, Rachaad White went down briefly early in the game with a groin issue — before Vita Vea left with a knee injury
It didn’t seem severe for White. He returned quickly to the game and was still his ineffective self on the ground.
Jeremy Fowler of BSPN reports a Bucs source appeared to downplay White’s injury and, per Fowler, said White “should be good.”
White is averaging 2.0 yards a carry but 11.4 yards a catch, where he excels.
So after a Chris Godwin gain of 19 yards on 3rd-and-22 yesterday, Bucs head coach Todd Bowles had a decision to make. (more…)
While Todd Bowles did not confirm early this afternoon that Vita Vea finished all testing related to his injured knee (suffered yesterday when YaYa Diaby fell on him), Bowles did say that his manbeast defensive tackle has a Grade 2 MCL sprain and it’s a “day-to-day” situation.
Joe is considering this great news.

Welcome to Victory Monday! No sense beating around the bush. Grab your coffee and let’s roll!
Joe remembers well the weekend of the 2024 draft when the Bucs selected Georgia safety Tykee Smith in Round 2 and right away the Bucs strongly implied he would be their starting nickel cornerback. (more…)

So the Bucs got their thrilling road win against a big-time Detroit team today with no sacks, no running game and a pile of injuries. (more…)
There is “hope” the Bucs may have dodged a major bullet.
NFL.com reporter Ian Rapoport reports this evening that the initial diagnosis of Vita Vea’s injury is that he suffered an MCL sprain and there is hope it won’t be an “extended absence.”
Vita will undergo an MRI test tomorrow, per Rapoport, but Bucs types are crossing their fingers Vea’s injury is not major.
Vea suffered the injury under friendly fire early in the third quarter of today’s win over the Lions. YaYa Diaby fell into Vea’s leg and he buckled.
