Joe apologizes for the graphic nature of the photograph, but it’s not every day that you see a guy significantly ill on the sidelines head back into a football game.
That’s Mike Evans. (more…)

If you think Bruce Arians had a shred of sympathy for Mike Zimmer Sunday afternoon, think again.
Arians knows what it’s like to compete with a lousy place kicker. Now he has reliable Ryan Succop to split the uprights while Zimmer suffered with Dan Bailey.
We’ll never know the outcome if Bailey hadn’t shanked three FG tries and an extra-point attempt, but we know one thing for sure — this game would have been a lot tighter.
Coming off a bye week, the Bucs said goodbye to the Vikings in the NFC wild-card chase, going up two games and owning the head-to-head tie-breaker. At 8-5, Tampa Bay’s playoff path is clear: win at least two of your final three games and that postseason drought will be history.
While far from their best Sunday, the Bucs proved opportunistic.
Two players in particular came out of hibernation to make key contributions — Scotty Miller and LeSean McCoy. Shaq Barrett left his imprint all over the game and Tampa Bay capitalized on some dopey decisions by Zimmer, who was his own worst enemy. (more…)
Joe has to give a standing ovation for how the Bucs handled the end of the first half.
Bravo! It feels like a lifetime ago that Bucco Bruce Arians called back-to-back timeouts (against the rules), and took penalties to set up Matt Gay for a miss. (more…)

Audacity.
Joe absolutely hates “leader” talk because it is the most empty, nonsensical rhetoric there is. (more…)

When the end came for Ray Perkins in Tampa, few were surprised.
Although the Bucs had just beaten the Falcons late in the 1990 season, Hugh Culverhouse had seen enough. He fired the man he once labeled “My Vince Lombardi,” and Walter Lee Perkins was seen lugging his belongings out to his car at old One Buc Place in a box crammed with pictures and playbooks. (more…)

Despite Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs, multiple NFC games broke the Bucs’ way. And with a 7-5 record, Tampa Bay is more likely to make the playoffs than it was a day ago. (more…)

Football’s the ultimate team sport. It takes all 22 guys doing their jobs. One man can’t do it alone.
Nonsense.

“I see you Todd!”
There is no question that Cheetah Hill, the lightning fast receiver of the Chiefs, is one of the best in the game. He’s a big reason why the Chiefs won the Super Bowl last year. (more…)

Bad news tonight, Bucs fans. (more…)
It feels like two-thirds of Bucs fans really believed in their hearts and souls and minds before this season that the Bucs would win 11 or 12 games.
And that reality (albeit misguided) has created an enraged sect of fans as the Bucs sit at 7-4 and in great position to win 10 games and make the playoffs. (more…)

Bucs right tackle Tristan Wirfs
Joe’s second review of last night’s groin-stomp loss to the Rams revealed a real stunner in the trenches — and it adds to the pain. (more…)

Slow start, strong ending.
Look, Joe is not going to fully rag on the defense. They held the Rams to 10 points in the second half, and much of it held the Rams to a touchdown allowing the Bucs to stay within striking distance. (more…)

A new Brady-Bucs story emerges
Joe realizes some NFL social distancing cop will probably freak out about this.
However, it was revealed on national television and nobody from the Bucs asked Joe to ignore it to avoid league punishment, so here goes: (more…)
Cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting had a rough stretch in his primary gig of covering wide receivers. (more…)

Leaves Tom Brady off list.
Former Bucs quarterback Chris Simms has a very small bone to pick with the current Bucs quarterback. (more…)

Clarity has emerged regarding the Buccaneers’ approach to the bike-hurling, camera-crunching hijinks of Antonio Brown at his South Florida living complex just days before he was welcomed by Tampa Bay officials with open arms. (more…)

Antonio Brown discussion
In the mind of a Pro Football Hall of Fame member, furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing, security camera-trashing Bucs receiver Antonio Brown won’t have to face the law of NFL strongman Roger Goodell for his latest stunt. (more…)
