No 2nd-Half Offensive TD In 2013 = Outcoached
October 13th, 2013Good coaching staffs make second half adjustments and win games, right? Well, forget about winning. The New Schiano Order has not generated one touchdown drive in the second half of a game all season. All season!
This is a disgusting statistic and one that must be studied. Team Glazer should launch an independent investigation. There’s got to be a reason the Bucs continually get outcoached and outperformed in the second half of games.
This garbage has a stench reminiscent of the Raheem Morris era, when the Bucs had slow start after slow start after slow start. But at least Raheem and friends managed to fix things in the second half a good handful of times.
Joe can confidently say the New Schiano Order is getting embarrassed on the field left and right. This second half impotence isn’t just a coincidence. And the sad thing is the coaching staff is massive and it’s got an advisor in Butch Davis. Nobody has an answer? Nobody has a fix?
A team is not competitive when it can’t score second-half touchdowns. It’s just that simple.

Wanted, new coach for a turn-key NFL team.
This roster is stacked. The QB is a rookie, improving and has a decent amount of raw talent.
Looking for a coach who is willing to win games.
October 13th, 2013 at 8:54 pm
“Just wait for the second half” was the discussion around my seats at halftime. It’s clear that the teams we play adjust and the Bucs do not.
October 13th, 2013 at 8:59 pm
WOW………….just WOW..
October 13th, 2013 at 8:59 pm
Butch hasn’t done anything in the nfl since the 90’s, just like Wannstedt.
Jimmy Raye is our offensive advisor. Absolutely horrific in prior coaching here way back in the 80’s.
The big coaching staff is chuck full of losers.
October 13th, 2013 at 9:01 pm
How about someone in the press corps asking Sullivan that question….and not letting him get away with….”Well, its not just one thing, its penalties, wrong routes, dropped passes…good defense.”….yada, yada, yada….
I have watched all of his press conferences and I swear, I think the guy should run for public office…he never really says anything.
I saw some improvement in the playcalling today…but not enough.
October 13th, 2013 at 9:02 pm
My friend made a joke at the game. He said the Bucs should sell a half season package of tickets. You can go to every game but leave at halftime. That’s actually a pretty good product.
October 13th, 2013 at 9:03 pm
I just don’t care anymore, I’m watching it by habit…
Glennon did some good thing.. Banks was schooled but considering he’s a rookie and that he has mrsa, its hard to put blame on him.. Ol is terrible. What happened to bobstad and its magical ever working ol shuffling??
October 13th, 2013 at 9:03 pm
Discussion around my seats was; E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES, EAGLES, EAGLES!!!!
Pathetic!!!!!!
October 13th, 2013 at 9:05 pm
HOlY SHITZANO!!! Now this is a glaring stat. More evidence of being out coached.
In addition to attaching the “Victory Formation”, keeping Ogletree, the “Free Debacle”, trading Blount for a blunt and STILL using no one to relieve Martin, etc.
I was not sure about what happened to Free, and I still have no idea (but I think it was mostly Free), however, I have no doubt about this one. Coach Shitzano is over his head in the NFL
October 13th, 2013 at 9:06 pm
Chris Landry has been saying for a long time now that the issue is organizational with poor choices by the Glazers in choosing who runs their franchise.
It’s time the Glazers get some real football people in here that have had success running and coaching a football team.
The laughingstock continues.
The sky has fallen
October 13th, 2013 at 9:08 pm
He wanted freeman head
Now we want his
Fire greg schiano
October 13th, 2013 at 9:08 pm
NO adjustments, and the play calling get so vanilla. good lord this sucks
October 13th, 2013 at 9:09 pm
Joe I think you are saying they have too many coaches so no one is in charge to point the finger at, just bring in a good head coach and let him or her, she couldn’t do any worse, and let them clean house with the staff.
October 13th, 2013 at 9:11 pm
This mess goes all the way back to after Gruden, bust this mess up and get someone with experience in here please.
October 13th, 2013 at 9:13 pm
This is the other side of Jerry Jones, Jerry has his hands on EVERYTHING, and the Glaziers do NOTHING.
October 13th, 2013 at 9:15 pm
I’m sorry, but it’s time for Schitler to go.
October 13th, 2013 at 9:18 pm
@ Joe
I might be wrong, but I swear there was a story on here at one time about how Schiano didn’t believe in making halftime adjustments. Something along the lines of how he thought halftime was for using the restroom and getting some food in to the players rather than making a bunch of changes.
Maybe some of these historians that we have on this site can remember.
October 13th, 2013 at 9:20 pm
It’s the coaches and GM.
Cowher, Mooch, Billeck.
Somebody, who can bring in a good staff.
They are saying the right things- but this team is quoting at strategic moments
FIRE Schiano and Dom.
NOW
October 13th, 2013 at 9:21 pm
https://www.joebucsfan.com/?p=71902
…and here it is.
October 13th, 2013 at 9:24 pm
Even if Schiano gets fired tomorrow. Will that make the team make less penalties or win more games this season?
October 13th, 2013 at 9:24 pm
“Quitting”
October 13th, 2013 at 9:26 pm
It didn’t matter how many coaches there are when it’s schiano’s way or no way.
October 13th, 2013 at 9:47 pm
jeez man, what a disappointing season. Im going to put this one on the defense. needed a stop, and they didnt get it. plenty of blame can go to the offense as well though. our o line for the most part played like crap, not to mention they killed our drives with those damn penalties. bottom line though we need touchdowns, not field goals, especially vs a high octane offense like the eagles. just a complete collapse in the final minutes of the game. I like Schiano, but it doesn’t look like he will be here next season, and if that happens, he can take dom with him.
October 13th, 2013 at 9:57 pm
I supported Schiano from the start and thought he would be a good fit here with his no nonsense style and focus on discipline. For whatever reason, he cannot make enough good decisions to win in the NFL. He has repeatedly been out coached, out smarted, and out disciplined. The Bucs lead or are near the lead in penalties which has proved to be the difference in winning and losing. This was not a rebuilding year. A contingency for a underachieving Freeman had to be made and was not. Glennon is a rookie and will improve but he needs to hold a clip board while learning from a serviceable veteran (not Freeman). Dominik failed to get the veteran qb to push Freeman and now we suffer through unavoidable rookie mistakes. Schiano had plenty of chances to show he belongs in the NFL and failed miserably. Admit you reached on Schiano and it did not work out. Fire the head coach now, place Wannstedt as interim coach and start the coaching search now for someone like Cowher (experienced). We have the players, we need good coaching. Go Bucs!
October 13th, 2013 at 10:01 pm
@Bucs1987,
yes, absolutely
October 13th, 2013 at 10:03 pm
And today’s effort came after a Bye Week
So all of the two weeks “game planning” got used up in the first half?
“No Second Half TD’s in 2013” = Laughingstock
October 13th, 2013 at 10:03 pm
Jay Gruden and Johnny Football for 2014.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:06 pm
Buc1987 let him go let him go
October 13th, 2013 at 10:07 pm
If you listen to Schiano’s press conference, it becomes obvious why he is doomed. He is not going to change anything, he’s just going to keep practicing until they get it right. They being the players.
He doesn’t think there is anything wrong with the offensive or defensive schemes, it’s the players. They just aren’t doing it right. And nobody is going to tell him differently. It’s painful to watch, but it’s now just a matter of time. I swear I thought he was going to charge the victory formation today. Pitiful!
October 13th, 2013 at 10:09 pm
Hawaiian Buc….explain.
Young buc…I’m willing to let him go. I just don’t see the benefit of doing it mid-season.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:10 pm
Iceberg right ahead…you blame the loss on the QB and his rookie mistakes? So he is 0-2 and people miss josh. How nice, josh is and was a loser from college to pros. I was encouraged by Glennon. Wish Williams would have played too. Please all 22 people start the fire everyone campaign, or provide who you’d hire and don’t start with cowher he hasn’t coached in five years and is out of touch. Why do I think Eric cheered for the eagles all day? Probably bashes maddon on joeraysfan too.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:12 pm
@gotbbucs Nice find!!!
October 13th, 2013 at 10:13 pm
He could not find anybody to blame it on today?
October 13th, 2013 at 10:14 pm
Two weeks to prepare. 31st defense in league. Rookie coach, backup QB.
If we can’t win against that team, who do we think we can beat.
Fire Schiano and Dom!
Now!
October 13th, 2013 at 10:14 pm
You know, forget the bad play. The Glazers can probably figure a way to fire Schiano and NOT pay him for this Freeman/Leak-Gate situation.
Even if the team was .500, I don’t think anyone would really fault them for that…. violating players rights.
Heck, you can fire Schiano and blame it solely on that.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:15 pm
I wish my wife could suck my nipples the way this guy sucks as a coach
October 13th, 2013 at 10:17 pm
@joe for a guy claiming not to be out for schiano’s job…..you sure post a lot of stories talking about poor coaching. I dont disagree with the take but just the claiming that others think he should go but not joe! You afraid they will yank your creds or what?
What “others?” Joe’s written numerous takes of his own about the head coaching job. Would Joe fire Schiano today? No. Joe might have a different answer in a few weeks. As for “yanking creds,” Joe gets that comment a lot. Joe really doesn’t care at the end of the day about media credentials. This website was built without them. And while they’re nice to have, they’re really not necessary for Joe to deliver on these pages. –Joe
October 13th, 2013 at 10:18 pm
If Schiano continues to lose games, the team picks higher in the draft. If the Bucs finally fix the penalty problems and Glennon improves they might still win a few games here and there this season or not. At this point why would any fan that’s hoping to get Bridgewater or Manziel want Schiano fired? If anything they should want to keep him until the end of the season. If Schiano equals losing and you want a high pick. Why would you want him fired now?
October 13th, 2013 at 10:19 pm
Who cares? No respectable coach would ever take a job in Tampa anyways. Ownership is horrible. Everyone knows it. Everyone they interviewed last year turned this job down except Schiano. Now he wishes he did to.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:20 pm
chickster…he blamed it on himself right after the game on the radio.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:21 pm
Captain Buc…I agree.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:23 pm
Captain Buc…although I don’t want him as a HC, because I want an offensive minded coach, I think Lovie would take the job.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:24 pm
So….Sullivan gets a pass?….for the exception of my post…Sully hasn’t been mentioned. I brought him up just to see if anyone would follow through….not a sole.
We haven’t scored an offensive touchdown in 5 games in the second half and the OC gets a pass….amazing hatred for Schiano (not defending him) but the guy who is supposed to be running our offense doesn’t even get mentioned.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:25 pm
@ chickster
LMFAO! So true!
October 13th, 2013 at 10:26 pm
Tampabaybuctfan….you know where I stand on Sully. I’ve been bitching about him since week 1.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:27 pm
Schiano even blamed the holding penalties on himself right after the game.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:29 pm
87
What’s getting a top draft pick going to do? We have 8 pro bowlers now and can’t win. It’s the coach and hate to say it
October 13th, 2013 at 10:29 pm
911bucs…yes…but what good will it do to get rid of him mid-season?
October 13th, 2013 at 10:33 pm
I don’t know why everyone is so surprised the bucs are so pathetic. Any time you hire a coach out of the big east you get what you pay for. Whatever advice he’s getting from wannestedt and Davis obviously sucks or he doesn’t listen to them and they suck anyway. Schiano is in way over his head. Poor bastard.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:34 pm
I’m not excusing Schiano for the losses…but this article is about offensive impotency….that falls squarely on Sullivan’s shoulders. I think he has to be accountable.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:37 pm
The again if Lovie talks to Dungy about the Bucs job. Dungy might tell him to stay far far away. So in a sense Captain Buc is right. What decent HC would even want to coach the Bucs or for this organization?
October 13th, 2013 at 10:37 pm
87
I agree…as long as he doesn’t totally lose the team…what purpose does it serve to fire him mid-season…except to assuage the fanbase…..also firing Schiano mid-season may send some good assistants packing prematurely.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:38 pm
Thanks for the link Gotbucs! Interesting reading that early with Schiano being with the Bucs. It is obvious he makes no adjustments even during the game which he stated in 2012. Also, Miguel Grande’s comment was right on and he was getting ripped by everyone.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:38 pm
“Any time you hire a coach out of the big east you get what you pay for.”
Kreator…the same can be said for the mighty SEC as well.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:41 pm
“what purpose does it serve to fire him mid-season…except to assuage the fanbase”
Tampabaybuctfan…exactly and it’s not like it’s going to suddenly fix all the problems.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:41 pm
Tampa lost but it was a promising game.
in 2 games glennon has as many TDs and rushing yards as Freeman had in 3 games.
his int today was because the wr gave up on the route.
How many games did freeman lose as a rookie?
I for one like our direction, freeman was a pos.
next year get a big tight end in the first round.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:45 pm
87
If we don’t make changes now, players are inclined to want to go play elsewhere next year. I’m sure they are just as frustrated as the fans. I agree blame may not fall directly on Schiano but rather on Sullivan.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:47 pm
jo mama …everything you just said is one of the reasons why I don’t want the Bucs to fire the coach mid-season. Let it all play out until the end of the season. Then I’m sure the Glazers will make the right call. Atleast that’s how I see them playing this out, but who knows. It’s just my speculation that they will not fire him in the middle of the season.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:47 pm
Unfortunately Joe may have been adversely affected by today’s loss….How?
Well, the Freeman controversy and the Schiano controversy were feeding his website….Freeman is gone and Schiano’s departure is a foregone conclusion.
Joe needs controversy as do all media….to attract readers…and with the Bucs 0-5…the fanbase is losing interest….so therefore Joe suffers…and that’s a shame.
This is grossly inaccurate. Joe’s explained before that traffic is better when the Bucs win. Comments are greater when they lose, but there are more readers when they win. That written, Joe’s audience is always growing, so that’s all moot anyway. –Joe
October 13th, 2013 at 10:47 pm
@ buc87 news flash big east football sucks you’re comparing apples to oranges
October 13th, 2013 at 10:48 pm
You know, if we keep Schitler we will get a better draft pick. So…….since our season is down the drain, keep Schitler. Just sayin.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:49 pm
Jo momma-
What the Fu+k are you talking about the other guy for?
You haven’t noticed he’s been gone for a while- and we are still losing???
Are you the person to figure out that it isn’t the QB, it’s the coach??
Pay attention.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:49 pm
@ Tampabaybucfan
I agree, sully isnt getting the job done either. but I also think its the head coaches job to recognize that and make a change. if hes not willing to make that change, then the blame falls on his shoulders. but your right, if anybody needs to go, its Sully. his job is to make this a good offense, and even with the weapons that we have, he has not.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:49 pm
geez joe finally
did it really take josh freeman leaving for you to realize what you just said in this post? good grief lol whats so funny is people couldnt see it last year because they focused so much on the quarterback, he’s a rookie but glennon has been a nice surprise for someone so green except for his deep ball accuracy, its god awful
so sad joe and you have season tickets you must have been to wasted to pay attention to the game
October 13th, 2013 at 10:50 pm
My work is almost done here. Pretty soon I will go back to my original website name. Couch has been silenced and Buc1987 is just a mere shell of his once vocal celebrity. No need for Splengo up in here anymore!
October 13th, 2013 at 10:50 pm
@1987
I don’t see it happening mid-season, but I don’t see too many outs for Schiano at this point. I think you and I share the same thinking on this team for the most part. Sullivan sucks as an OC, but Schiano and Dominik hired him.
What worries me is everybody and their dog knew that Raheem was a goner by week 12 and it still took them a coon’s age to settle on Schiano. Also, I think Dominik might be a goner too if they decide they want to go after one of the big whales in the coaching industry and those guys typically choose their own GM’s.
I think all bets are off this year.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:52 pm
There is a light @ the end of the tunnel Tim “Rutgers” wright
October 13th, 2013 at 10:52 pm
911bucs…players may be inclined to do so anyways. Making changes now, there is no guarantee that it will produce wins. What if they fire him tomorrow and the Bucs just continue to lose anyways? The team is not getting blown out ala 2011 Raheem days. I just don’t see a quick fix on the Bucs staff right now.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:54 pm
and I remember before the season even started we, especially Joe, we’re so worried that Sully would be pried away to take a head coaching job. lol
October 13th, 2013 at 10:56 pm
chickster Says:
October 13th, 2013 at 10:15 pm

______________________________________________________________________________
LMAO!!!!
Post of the day! Thanks for the laugh after another miserable BUC loss.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:57 pm
The only reason I’d like to see schiano leave now is I would like to @ least win one game this season.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:58 pm
Yeah…It’s ALL Sullivan. Schiano has nothing to do with the pathetic performance of the offense. Sullivan has said time and again they’re running the offense Schiano wants.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:58 pm
P.S.
Just because we still have problems we are dealing with does not mean that Freeman was not part of the problem.
He was, a major part of it.
As bad a things have been, we were worse with him as QB.
October 13th, 2013 at 11:00 pm
If they do fire schiano who are we gonna get?
October 13th, 2013 at 11:03 pm
I’m not saying that Sullivan is the only one at fault…but lets face it….if he is simply a figurehead and is “running Schiano’s offense” then he deserves to be a sacrificial lamb.
I can tell you this… & i’m not too proud…if my azz was on the hot seat and somebody that reported to me wasn’t performing…he would get the ax….
October 13th, 2013 at 11:03 pm
“Couch has been silenced and Buc1987 is just a mere shell of his once vocal celebrity.”
Splengo..Ha ha ha ha…that’s funny stuff. I still say let the season play out though without firing the guy.
October 13th, 2013 at 11:05 pm
As bad and old fashioned as this offensive system is, I’m surprised that they have any TD’s in the 1st half
October 13th, 2013 at 11:05 pm
Still idiots talking about Freeman.
Lmao!!
Glennon sucks.
0-2, against horrible teams!
Lol
October 13th, 2013 at 11:06 pm
I remember watching a Miami game where Butch Davis made a stupid decision that gave the game away. He’s hardly somebody I’d want as anchorman.
That metric you mention says it all. The coaching staff is horrid at X’s and O’s. That would be excusable if they were great at teaching players, but they are not. Blount and Freeman were both salvageable players that regressed under the regime. Or if they were great at motivating players. Or were great at discerning talent. They are bad at just about every part of being a coach that I can tell.
October 13th, 2013 at 11:06 pm
I don’t know what’s more red my Bucs jersey or my face. That sun was a mofo out there today.
Oh and PRBucFan…Glennon looks better than Freeman.
October 13th, 2013 at 11:10 pm
I still say bring on Martyball. That’s who I wanted before they hired Schiano. I think he’d take the job too.
October 13th, 2013 at 11:13 pm
Much better
It’s funny as long as people bring Free’s name up as if he gets a pass because we still have issues, I’m going to remind them that we were worse with him lol.
The audacity to try and point to Glennon’s 2 losses when all Free did was rack up L’s lol.
But hey what can we expect from Free’s ball boys
October 13th, 2013 at 11:16 pm
Highest win probabilities by game, from Advanced NFL Stats:
Wk 1: 98% chance with 15 seconds left
Wk 2: 99% chance with 2:36 left
Wk 3: 68% chance in the 2nd qtr
Wk 4: 95% chance with 4:12 left
Wk 6: 71% chance right before INT in 3rd qtr
Based off those chances (which seem a little high, but still…)
Probability of being 5-0: 44%
Probability of being 0-5: <0.0001% (1 in a million)
UGH.
October 13th, 2013 at 11:16 pm
Glennon does look better than Freeman, and this is coming from someone who was a huge Freeman supporter.
October 13th, 2013 at 11:19 pm
Let me reiterate Glennon a rookie looks better than Freeman a 5 yr vet.
October 13th, 2013 at 11:22 pm
yup, thats about the gist of it. Id also add if that high top idiot wouldnt have quit on his route, he wouldn’t have even thrown a pick.
October 13th, 2013 at 11:28 pm
Oh well g’nite everyone…I wiped out out from the sun.
October 13th, 2013 at 11:28 pm
This mess is far worse than Raheem’s Bucs! Raheem didn’t have talent. Who knows what would have happened if he had some real veteran leadership on his team. Raheem did make adjustments prior to his team quitting on him!
October 13th, 2013 at 11:34 pm
Say goodbye, Greg.
October 13th, 2013 at 11:34 pm
Lovie Smith please.
October 13th, 2013 at 11:37 pm
I blame the glazers for allowing this shitty product… they should sell the team to sum1 who knows what tthere doing and isnt watching soccer half the time…
October 13th, 2013 at 11:49 pm
Lovie Smith sounds good right about now
October 13th, 2013 at 11:51 pm
DcBucFan- yup.
Are there some here, actually trying to say one QB loses”better” than another?
Glennon loses better?
Lmao
First, the “gay for Glennon”( as in glad!) boys promise Glennon starting assures us of the Playoffs!, one said we would “win out” the rest of our games. And that that Freeman is the”only problem holding this team back- get rid off him- and we’ll be winning with Glennon!”
All this teams problems are squarely on Freeman!
Lmao.
Odd. Freeman is gone, and Glennon has lost to two horrible teams! Two teams that any other QB in the league could beat. Including Freeman.
Now, the G for Glennon boys have backtracked every stupid thing they said.
Now, “he loses good!” Is their only defense!!
Lol! I stand by my statements, and on one rare occasion, I was wrong- and admitted it.
Too bad you Glennon lovers don’t have those kinda balls!! Every regular here saw you ludicrous statements.
Pathetic! At least Couch stood by his statement. He said he stated that Glennon would get us to the playoffs.
He was only wrong. You can respect that.
You guys were wrong, and are throwing your dignity away, along with your credibility!!
Lmao!
October 13th, 2013 at 11:55 pm
Lovie,Marty, Cowher, Stave Mariuchi, Billeck
Just a pro coach, who will bring a good pro staff
October 14th, 2013 at 12:12 am
NFLPA is claiming Schiano was the rat with the Freeman medical leak. That should just about do it for Schiano. How much more can the Glazers take?
October 14th, 2013 at 12:16 am
Billick was my choice 2 years ago with Marty a sentimental second. Billick might be the best The Bucs could do right now. Who is going to want to come here with proven NFL “chops”?
October 14th, 2013 at 12:20 am
@joe for a guy claiming not to be out for schiano’s job…..you sure post a lot of stories talking about poor coaching. I dont disagree with the take but just the claiming that others think he should go but not joe! You afraid they will yank your creds or what?

I was referencing on sometimes how you report something…..and then make it clear at the end of the article you dont agree with it at all but are still reporting. That i respect alot actually. It just seems you have a bit of an agenda….I guess it is called joebucs FAN.
Anyways…..I was supposed to goto next week’s game but trip got cancelled…..despite 0-5 I was looking forward to it. I figured we would be 2-3 at this point.
October 14th, 2013 at 12:28 am
Mike Sherman plus Johnny football.
The dude who coaches A & M plus Johnny Football.
Something!
We hired Woody Hayes!
October 14th, 2013 at 12:33 am
I agree that the rookie QB in his 2nd start looks like a much better QB then the 5 year pro that just left.
October 14th, 2013 at 12:36 am
Sam:
No, Joe would not make a coaching change. Please explain what benefit there is to running Schiano now? Oh, so the Bucs can finish with four wins and lose out on Teddy Bridgewater and/or Clowney?
If you are going to lose, lose big. Look at the big-time players the Bucs missed out on by winning a couple of meaningless games. Joe Thomas and Calvin Johnson spring to mind.
Besides, Team Glazer has never made a coaching change midseason. Not with Sam Wyche, not with Father Dungy, not with Chucky, not with Raheem. Joe’s a history/pattern guy. You see any history or pattern there that Team Glazer will make a move?

Kreator:
Won’t have to “go get.” Wanny is already on staff for an interim role.

Capt. Tim:
Joe is going to guess you are referring to Freeman? He may be gone, but the stench is going to stick around for months if not years.

Wait. You guys wanted to lose this game didn’t you? I could have sworn you all mentioned losing was the best way to get a franchise QB?
The way I see it, you all wanted the first pick in the draft so you have no right to complain.

Losing is a disease.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WN-aCYVVtyo

Here’s what I would do if I were the Bucs. If the Texans put Schaub on the block try to get him without losing the first pick of the draft. Make him the starter.
The guy has a horrible team around him and we have enough pro bowlers around to make him shine for a couple years.
Draft a QB in the first round and sit him at #3, make him earn #2 and when Matt is no longer useful or retires, promote.
Schaub could end up being a Brees-like situation. He’s injured. The team may let him go because they are losing. There is more than a QB wrong there, but hey, offer them Glennon if it helps.
Do that and we become competitors AND we have a QB for the future like Green Bay did with Rodgers.

And speaking of Glazer…I saw one of the boys hiding just outside the tunnel one the field, watching the game. It was a home game so it might have been nothing, but I thought they lived out of town?
October 14th, 2013 at 12:56 am
Bryan lives in town. Plus, Joel and Ed and Avi have enough walking around cash in their pockets to commute to Bucs games.

The Glazers are wildly unpredictable, fit no particular pattern.
They fired Chucky after having promoting Rah to DC, then hired a new head coach and GM in an afternoon.
And they have gone to an exhaustive coaching search and found Schiano who nobody knew they were considering.
Landed chucky after Parcels turned em down and had to give up two first rounders two second rounders. Were in a jam.
No pattern with these guys, no telling what they will do. Very secretive folks.
And lack much knowledge of pro football based on their last two hires. So, who knows. We can only hope they learn from these grave errors and get some folks that know what they are doing to operate the team.

Joe,
Can you tell me how you pay a CB $1M a game to play zone and scheming him into a average player?
October 14th, 2013 at 1:27 am
No.
October 14th, 2013 at 1:54 am
Unfortunately, I get the sense that the Glazer assembled a 24 coach staff – filled with NFL experience for the reason of trying to offer the support a new coach would need.
The Glazer’s may still be paying Gruden, they may still be paying Morris, they probably felt it was cheaper to hire coaches that are on OTHER teams/colleges payroll than keep hiring the next EX-Buccaneer head coach?
Maybe they plan to get Scha-Na-Na to “L-E-A-R-N from so many experienced and former NFL head coaches/corrdinators.
…or perhaps, Scha-Na-Na can be shown the door sooner – and no one would ever miss him.
Although, I have a dartboard with his picture on it in my office….
October 14th, 2013 at 2:07 am
Is it too late to get Josh back?
We would gladly send them a slightly used, former NFL head coach, with a very large ego.
I’m sure he could help Leslie – a LOT!
He’s definitely already helped the Vikings as much as any of their current coaches!
October 14th, 2013 at 2:11 am
I think you are smelling The stench of Schiano, and his schemes!
That stench permeates our offense
This lil pasta nazis offense will stink, no matter which players are stuck trying to run it!
Freeman was smart enough to get out
October 14th, 2013 at 3:01 am
Watch out now Joe..
You don’t wanna offend Freeman’s number 1 ball boy up there.
lol It’s funny, I don’t even bother reading his posts anymore. As soon as I see the name C T I just skip right over it. It’s rather nice
October 14th, 2013 at 3:22 am
PRB – you lack consistency – I am Freeman’s number one fan.
October 14th, 2013 at 3:26 am
Well the bully got his way, and now he has HIS QB, who has no competition. The kid is way in over his head as was shown in the 2nd half. I will not be convinced that he gives us the best chance to win. But there was one smart move, when Sullivan moved upstairs to get away from Schiano. Glennon played against the 31st ranked defense. In addition, the kid is immobile and he is a sitting duck in the pocket, but the bully wants a pocket passer. Wait until he plays Seattle for example. Hopefully, the Glazers will be able to fire Schiano for cause if this investigation gets done on the Freeman leak. I can’t see the players standing with him much longer assuming they do right now. The man does not have a clue.
October 14th, 2013 at 7:25 am
Looks like yet again surprise surprise, they are one in the same lol.
October 14th, 2013 at 7:45 am
Quietly, discreetly. Below the Radar.
The players have quit on him already.
And it’s pretty obvious the refs can’t stand him either.
It’s no coincidence that screw ups/ penalties occur at just the wrong moment.
This guys know when a Sack, penalty, drop, etc. Will end a drive.
Goodbye Schiano
Fire Schiano and Dom
NOW!!!
October 14th, 2013 at 8:57 am
As I watch and watch its the same and the same isn’t good they have made no changes that I can see and blame it on penalties at any point of the game I do not see the passion from the players that you need to see for your bad luck to become good luck and when this leak comes out who did what it may be cause for affect and I would use this to my advantage to get out from under this coach we have coaches in place to take this ship over . besides winning any games from now on are meaningless to me saving face should be the goal from this point on they will win some trash games later on in the season that will mean nothing
October 14th, 2013 at 8:59 am
The jokes are all over nFL network and that’s just the start
October 14th, 2013 at 9:09 am
You know your head coach is bad when only the positive things that have ever been said about him are: “he’s a no nonsense coach”, “disciplinarian” and “hard nose coaching style”.. I have never heard Schiano described as smart, offensive minded, tactician, coaches players up or winner.
The Glazers do not know what a real football GM and coach are. They fall for sales pitch and the fans are stuck with piss poor results.
October 14th, 2013 at 11:56 am
Bucs lose again. It brings back old memories from the 80’s teams records. It is depressing and getting worse, like really frustrating. They will probably can Schiano and make Wannstedt interim coach, what with his pro football coaching past. I guess the pundits who picked records in preseason went to high on giving the Bucs 5 wins on the season. Maybe 2 or 3 wins is to many.
