“That’s Insane!”
October 10th, 2013The workload of the NFL’s leading rusher surprisingly baffles Gerald McCoy.
Speaking on his radio show last night on WDAE-AM 620, McCoy said he was in disbelief when he learned that the Eagles’ LeSean McCoy has 98 carries in five games.
“I’ll say this about Philly. They run a lot of plays. They run a lot, a lot, a lot of plays,” McCoy said, referring to the Eagles’ fast-paced offense. “LeSean McCoy, Shady, already has 98 carries. That’s ridiculous. In five games, 98 carries? That’s insane. In order to do that you have to have a bunch of plays, a whole bunch. We have to be ready. Their tempo is ridiculous.”
Hmm, Joe wonders whether McCoy knows his teammate Doug Martin has 100 carries, two more than LeSean McCoy in one less game. It seemed like McCoy was completely unaware.
Regardless, LeSean McCoy is likely to get a load of carries Sunday and the Bucs would be wise to focus on shutting him down, reviving their once NFL-best rush defense, and daring Nick Foles to beat them. This year, the Bucs should have enough talent in the secondary to prevent Foles from abusing them.

Hope him and the rest are ready for this circus offense. He’s probably thinking about the overall number, and chasing LeSean McCoy after all the other plays.
I had heard before the total number of plays per game is high.

98 carries in 5 games?
I wonder what McCoy thinks about Doug’s 100 carries in 4 games.

LOL, that is less than 20 a game. Maybe McCoy meant the yards he has on only 98 touches is insane.

Just watched Shiano’s presser. Did I hear some shots at the player formerly known as Number 5?

98 carries over five games is common for a feature back. Not sure why GMC is surprised.

Yeah, McCoy’s carries are 31, 11, 20, 16, 20.
Hardly earth shattering totals there.
