“Family Medical Emergency” Detains Schiano
September 22nd, 2013Bad news comes via BSPN NFL writer Adam Schefter.
Moments ago, Schefter Twittered that Bucs coach Greg Schiano stayed in New England because of a “family medical emergency” and is not traveling home with the team.
First, Joe’s well wishes go out to the Schiano family. Joe assumes this was a close relative in order to keep Schiano away from work.
NFL coaches don’t waste hours and typically break down film together for countless hours immediately following every game. So Schiano’s absence is significant; the New Schiano Order will evaluate the loss to the Pats without their leader. … Joe will bring you more news as it develops.

Hope everything is ok Coach.
September 22nd, 2013 at 7:20 pm
Joe,
Can you shed some light as to why you continue to show Schiano wearing Rutgers gear?…..Is it that you just don’t have clip art of Schiano in Buc gear….or are you, in your own way, trying to put Schiano down by tying him to College.
He has at Tampa for over a year now. I think he deserves the respect of being portrayed in Buccaneer wear.

Hopefully there is a mirror in every seat back on the flight home !!!
September 22nd, 2013 at 7:25 pm
Wonder if he will send somebody for his things in Tampa ,
September 22nd, 2013 at 7:32 pm
At some point, people have to give the Schiano hate a rest.
It is much more likely the owners keep Schiano another season rather than Freeman. In fact, the Glazers went out and found Schiano and surrounded him with NFL experience.
If anything, Sullivan might be the problem much more than Schiano. Sully isn’t proven either.

@Tampabaybucfan
Because he is a horrible NFL HC and its better suited for the college ranks. Respect its earned in the NFL by winning something that Schiano doesn’t do.
September 22nd, 2013 at 7:33 pm
Update your picture files – there are thousands of pictures of Coach Schiano on the internet in Buccaneer gear.
Hope everything is allright w/ family members. Coach puts his heart and soul into his work – but still makes time for these things – gotta love him.

Prayers for Coach and his family.
September 22nd, 2013 at 7:36 pm
Hope all is well with his family member.
I’m really wondering whether he is one of these guys that would like to go back to the college ranks like Saban and Petrino.
His approach is much better suited there IMO.
September 22nd, 2013 at 7:37 pm
Schiano = Petrino
Prayers for him and his family tho

Prayers for Coach and the Family

I am a vocal critic of the Schiano Way, but that’s where it stops. I wish no misfortune or ill will toward the man himself and I will take my criticism only so far.
Whatever his emergency, I hope the situation turns out well for he and his family. He has my condolences in advance if it is a serious matter.
September 22nd, 2013 at 7:42 pm
Hope things are ok.
Football is a game.
Family is all that really matters
September 22nd, 2013 at 7:47 pm
Agreed

@Raphael
You know, I’ve always just written you off as a jock-sniffing Freemanista; a true troll. Now, you demonstrate how truly classless you really are.
Otherwise, hope all is well is well with the Schiano family. Weird weekend. Cardinals’ DT Dan Williams’ father was killed in a car wreck today driving to the game.
September 22nd, 2013 at 7:52 pm
Most definitely.. In the end these guys have families they care about as well. Hope everything works out for him.
September 22nd, 2013 at 7:52 pm
I agree wish him all the best.
September 22nd, 2013 at 7:55 pm
Illuminati……you know all about being classless don’t you .
September 22nd, 2013 at 7:59 pm
It was classless Raphy! A leopard can’t change its spots!
September 22nd, 2013 at 8:00 pm
@Raphael
When I’m classless, it’s by choice.
You, unfortunately, just don’t know any better.
September 22nd, 2013 at 8:01 pm
it ain’t coaching !…..it is the “players”……
September 22nd, 2013 at 8:01 pm
Best wishes coach. Stay there and get yourself together. There is alot of football left. As a fan you have to stay positive. Look we are 0-3 but all the teams in the NFC are struggling. For god sakes the lions have first wildcard. Lot of football left. Get your head right coach and come back and lets get this going!
September 22nd, 2013 at 8:02 pm
Even though I claim “Schiano’s Gotta Go”, thats only wild fan talk. But on a personal level, I hope its nothing serious. And I hope you get though this coach. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I met Schiano briefly at Gandy Bait and tackle, in the shrimp line. He was very nice. Went to his car and got a bunch of Bucs hats which he gave away.
That’s not a bad spot to meet a Bucs coach. Gru also bought bait there. The bait shop guy was explaining the daily tides to which he said ” I don’t have time for that stuff man” Very funny.
Not sure Greg can coach, but he can load up a bucket of select shrimp.
September 22nd, 2013 at 8:16 pm
Prayers go out to Coach Schiano and his family
And to all who attach him now during a family crisis…..All of you are classless jerks!!!!!! Grow up and get a life.
September 22nd, 2013 at 8:22 pm
you know all of us can say Mr. Schiano is not doing a good job but it sucks when a family member is sick. he has to deal with a personal matter and he will have to deal with everybody’s crap when he gets back becuase our deloved bucs lost. my name tag says it all i am a true bucs fan since 1979 win or lose i will always be. i just don;t understand these wana bee’s out there.
Our Payers Are with you Mr. Schiano and your family

Hope all is well coach. Still a lot of football left. Let’s try to get this ship sailing.
September 22nd, 2013 at 8:43 pm
Raphael took (edited for hate speech) to come off as an even bigger douche than he normally does.
Impressive to say the least.
September 22nd, 2013 at 9:00 pm
Prayers for Coach and his family.
September 22nd, 2013 at 9:33 pm
Bucrightoff…… I said prayers for him and the family … This is a message board not a church . I am sure he is a terrific guy , just not a good Pro football coach…..yet !

September 22nd, 2013 at 9:45 pm
Raphael is a better troll than Josh Freeman is a quarterback.
September 22nd, 2013 at 9:55 pm
Bucrightoff …. Your 13 yrs old I get it …
September 22nd, 2013 at 10:17 pm
Prayers out to Coach and family. Hoping it’s not a serious matter. Family and Health come first and foremost than a stupid game.
Raphael, if you’re going to be a classless prick, please go elsewhere.
September 22nd, 2013 at 10:49 pm
First and foremost. Wishing all good on coach and his family.
I refuse to give up on Schiano. I really want to see if a win can help calm down the crapstorm going into our bye. I feel that the coaching hasnt been up to snuff but it is the players that play the game.
September 22nd, 2013 at 11:37 pm
Raphael, I have no problem with anything you posted. It’s not a church and who’s to say what really happened today. When Petrino took off on ATL crazy things happened. Being skeptical is not a bad thing and can save you truckloads of cash and hard lessons. We will see how this plays out but I’m not 100% sold on an unsubstantiated story just yet. I wished him well but that doesn’t mean I believe it all yet.

I guess the improved defensr means nothing? Last I checked Sully is running the offense. And we just happen to have a guy ready to step into that role next year when his contract with a college expires.

If sheridan is running schianos defense whats not to say sullivan is running schianos offense???
