Leave it to former Bucs tight end and 15-year NFL veteran Dave Moore to add superior Xs and Os insight into the messy, impotent Bucs offense.
Speaking this morning on the Ron and Ian show on WDAE-AM 620, Moore voiced his frustration at the Bucs’ multiple pre-snap formation penalties. Moore said preventing those screw-ups are as simple as asking a referee or official on the field whether you’re lined up correctly. “Check with the ref,” Moore implored.
Simply stated, Moore said all Demar Dotson, Mike Williams and others had to do was call out to a nearby zebra and ask if they were lined up legally. Players routinely do this, Moore said, and NFL officials always oblige.
Joe heard this and further wondered why the Bucs look undisciplined and undercoached.

Bingo. One of those illegal formation penalties cost the Bucs a TD. Don’t blame one player, when clearly, there are multiple issues to be fixed.

Penalties are one thing. But stupid penalties like not being on the line of scrimmage are another. Pop Warner players are taught to check with the ref. it is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.

Schiano’s knock on him out of Rutgers was “not a good game manager”.
It’s showing and the details are lacking. Some of our issues are football 101.
Add to that QB inconsistencies, NO TE and NO #3 WR and this is the end the result.
I do think we beat the Patriots, they are hurting…

We better, Freeman has 2 weeks to get his shit together and at least earn the opportunity to keep playing after the bye week. If we lose any of the next 2 games, stick a fork in Freeman, he’s DONE in Tampa Bay.

The Dotson call was ticky-tack at best. All O lines line up like that in obvious passing downs.
The call when Mike wasn’t on the line was because the TE was supposed to go in motion but JFro called it off because the play clock was winding down.
We need a QB with half a brain. JFro has to go. We need a field general!
Why keep saying he is our only shot? What has he shown?
Start Glennon ASAP!

I’ve been a Bucs fan since day one in 1976. I have seen bad football before. What I see here is an undisciplined trying to hard type of effort. The game looks over the heads of this coaching staff, in return the players are playing tight and are trying to not make errors. This is coaching with fear and placing fear in the players. At some point the players turn their heads to the noise and do as they wish. This is slowly happening to this team.
Week 1, the play of the Bucs was very correctable! Week 2 the same issues? At what point do you look at the accountability of one another? I have an issue, a big issue with the fact that a few guys made a few comments last week saying we are a physical team and will not change our ways? Really well the league is telling you otherwise! Fix it guys, fix it Schiano, it is getting really hard to watch and root when you are making football 101 mistakes. These are elementary mistakes from the coaches to the players. These are the penalties that at ruining us from winning. I put the blame on the coaching staff! The Bucs are bad and because of the little things. We have talent, but until the little things get fixed it does not matter!
Like I said, I am a fan since day one and will always root for the Bucs, but as a fan you also have the obligation and duty to voice your opinion’s whether it is good or bad. GO BUCS…

Ticky tack call of illegal formation indeed! I reviewed the tape of that play (TD pass to VJax) and saw nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, I reviewed several plays after that and saw no difference in the way they were lined up as compared to the flagged play. I’d like to see someone explain this, because in my mind it is quite controversial. And the alleged helmet to helmet by Clayborn against Brees could use another look as well. But no, these are the Bucs, and the only fashionable story that the media will come up with is their disarray (not that it’s not true), bad fortune (ditto), and issues with Freeman (ditto).
