“Atrocious”
September 10th, 2013A thing Joe loved about the New Schiano Order that was instilled when Bucs commander Greg Schiano was hired by Team Glazer was a sense or order and discipline was restored; players were held accountable for their actions.
That’s why the terribly undisciplined play of the Bucs Sunday in the ghastly loss to the Jets was so jarring, and apparently jarring for Olive oil-lapping, popcorn-munching, coffee-slurping, fried-chicken-eating, oatmeal-loving, circle-jerking, beer-chugging, cricket-watching, scone-loathing, college football-naïve, baseball box score-reading Peter King of theMMQB.com and SI.com, who called out the Bucs for their terribly sloppy play in succinct, yet stinging terms.
The Bucs’ composure—13 penalties, 102 yards. Atrocious.
Yes it was atrocious. Joe still can’t believe a Schiano-led team would play like a bunch of kids in a backyard. Just what in the world were the Bucs practicing since July?
The game against the Saints will be telling. Can the Bucs suddenly regain their composure in a handful of days to do battle Drew Brees successfully?
If the Bucs are as undisciplined this Sunday, it’s going to be a long, long afternoon.

“Can the Bucs suddenly regain their composure in a handful of days…”
I’m going to go out on a limb and say yes. Will it be enough to beat the Saints? I like our chances of limiting Brees’ video game numbers, but it will boil down to our offense getting into a rhythm and Freeman protecting the football. That will require good O-line play and Martin busting out some good runs. Hopefully we’ll see a little more creativity from Sullivan for this game.
September 10th, 2013 at 7:31 am
I’ve watched all the teams that we play this year even the Cardinals close loss to the Rams. After watching us play Sunday, I can’t honestly pick one team that I’m sure we will beat. I’m sure we will win some, but it is the most unpredictable season I’ve ever seen. I fear the worst.
September 10th, 2013 at 7:39 am
Everyone knows I’m no JFro lover and I didn’t feel he played all that well on Sunday, but the O-Line was god awful. Even without Nicks, they should have been way better than that. Hell, Carimi might of been the best of the bunch versus the Jets. It is imperative they give Freeman some time, because JFro is awful when under pressure. BUT, not awful enough YET that it is Glennon time. Not a member of the Glennon Mob yet.
September 10th, 2013 at 7:41 am
Could you imagine chip Kelly here with that high paced offense? Wow.
September 10th, 2013 at 7:44 am
I’m afraid to watch…
September 10th, 2013 at 7:45 am
Yeah, and a lot of people had the home game against the Eagles as a fairly easy win.
September 10th, 2013 at 7:45 am
After reading BamBam’s post I have faith we will play a tough game. Most are fairly minor tweeks to fix. At the very least, we should be able to compete. The Saints are a very very good team. A close loss will not be all that devastating to me, but a blow out like last year will let all the air out of my sails. A win, and it’s cloud 9 for about 5 days. But I think we can do it. If it were in NO I would probably feel different
September 10th, 2013 at 7:49 am
I echo shutbucup. Also, Freeman needs to get slapped right before game time (the same way John Henderson did for Jags). I believe that will elevate his game!
September 10th, 2013 at 7:55 am
I agree , the penalties were atrocious ..
2 positives were :
1. freeman threw some laser passes on a dime
2. Our defense could be pretty good …..soon I hope
September 10th, 2013 at 8:10 am
Carimi was not the best of the bunch. He was horrendous, easily the worst player on the line.
September 10th, 2013 at 8:33 am
Led the league in penalties and lost by one point on the road. The good news is, that unlike just plain sucking, this can be fixed.
September 10th, 2013 at 8:57 am
I have a ? watching Philly last night I didn’t see any University of Oregon player that had been recruited by the head coach. So why in the hell do we have so many Rutgers players on the Bucs? This isn’t college coach, wake up before we send you back from once you came.
September 10th, 2013 at 9:02 am
“So why in the hell do we have so many Rutgers players on the Bucs?”
Have you seen the active roster? We have 4 guys from Rutgers on the active roster bozo. One of which was already here before Schiano arrived. http://www.buccaneers.com/team-and-stats/roster.html
September 10th, 2013 at 9:14 am
We need to be a offensive powerhouse. We don’t need a tough guy head coach. We need a smart head coach. Maybe we’ll get one on the next hire.
September 10th, 2013 at 9:15 am
I’m not liking what I’m hearing about this coach.
September 10th, 2013 at 9:19 am
@meh,
Carmini was a turd, the rest not much better.
Duemeg was saying the Jets had J56P’s cadence down and were jumping the snap. Not sure to make of that, but it’s plausible.
September 10th, 2013 at 9:19 am
@ShutTheBucUp
Yeah, it’s funny that some people will write stuff without knowing if it’s true. Schiano has not hesitations about cutting Rutgers players. He cut Underwood for Stone Hands, which isn’t looking good. The Patriots has the most Rutgers players on their roster in the league.
September 10th, 2013 at 9:20 am
ShutTheBucUp Says:
Wow bozo did your mother teach you that word little boy. Its fans like you who cost the Bucs 15 yards on game day.
September 10th, 2013 at 9:21 am
The problem with the Rutgets players is that no one else wanted them and some like Wright, Singano went out of his way to sign and gift wrap a roster spot for…
I wonder the real reason behind Bellicheat endorsement of Singano. I mean Bellicheat has nevet endorse any other good coach before… also how many Rutgers players did he drafted because they were prepared to play the game by this great HC?
Not too many coaches would’ve failed the way Singano did we the talent we had last year or losing agains the Jets, heck Morris would’ve done way better…
September 10th, 2013 at 9:27 am
Am I missing a joke, or do some of the people here genuinely not know much about our team? Everybody watched the game, right? People here know how to really spell the coach’s name, and I’m not missing some pun or something?
September 10th, 2013 at 9:27 am
What a bunch of dumbass comments.
September 10th, 2013 at 9:36 am
A lot of people wanted Singano (whoever he is) as our coach.
September 10th, 2013 at 9:38 am
BEST THING ABOUT THE BUCS GAME SUNDAY IS IT WILL BE BLACKED OUT IN TAMPA
September 10th, 2013 at 9:44 am
Do we have a HC? The only one in charge of our team it’s a joke of a college coach…
September 10th, 2013 at 9:50 am
HOW ABOUT THIS SINCE I DONT KNOW ANYTHING. THE BUCS SUCKED LAST SEASON AND WILL SUCK THIS SEASON. YOU THINK PRESEASON GAMES DONT MEAN ANYTHING, KEEP THINKING THAT. O IT’S ONLY THE FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON NO NEED TO PANIC BLAH BLAH SURE, YOU GUYS NEED TO LOOK AT OTHER TEAMS THAT HAVE MEN ON THEM AND NOT BOYS WHO LOOK LOST ON THE FIELD. RONDE SAW THE WRITING ON THE WALL THAT’S WHY HE RETIRED AND TONY GONZALEZ CAME BACK TO THE FALCONS. WHY DO WE HAVE GREG SCHIANO AND NOT CHIP KELLY OR ANY OTHER RECOGNIZED HEAD COACH? BECAUSE THEY LIKE RONDE SAW THE WRITING ON THE WALL. REVIS? PLEASE HE WASN’T IN ANY RUSH TO COME TO TAMPA AND GOLSTON, PLEASE PAY ME ALL THAT MONEY TO ENJOY PLAYOFF AT HOME. YUCS FANS KEEP LOOKING FOR THE SILVER LINING AND MAYBE YOU WILL FIND IT NEXT YEAR OR THE NEXT OR THE NEXT. U ASK WHY WRITE THIS AND WHY AM I A FAN? BECAUSE I GET TIRED OF U GUYS TRYING TO VALIDATE PLAYERS/OWNERS/GM PERFORMACES. LASTLY I LOVE THE UNDER DOG.
September 10th, 2013 at 10:00 am
@Fil
Agreed 100%!
September 10th, 2013 at 10:12 am
Agree with Fil as well. I guess Singano hired a bunch of Rutgers grads and students to look out for him on Bucs related forums…
September 10th, 2013 at 10:22 am
Ah, my bad. I didn’t recognize trolling at first. I’ll go back to not commenting on future articles.
September 10th, 2013 at 10:28 am
HouseOfBacon.
The problem it’s not the team but the garbage college coach running the team. If you can’t even see that Rah did more with way less talent than this clown, then you must be one of those Rutgers trolls…
September 10th, 2013 at 10:50 am
HouseofBacon -Great name! Don’t let these guyys run you off. Post whatever you want to say…Try not to yell like Fil in all caps though, it makes it hard to read.
September 10th, 2013 at 10:56 am
As a USF Bull I did not like seeing Shiano come to Tampa, mostly becasue I was used to hating him. Lat year I warmed up to him, becasue it looked as though the Bucs were moving in the right direction. I have to say, if Sunday’s game is what we have in store we are in trouble. Tampa Bay waitied to long in the process and missed out on other coaches. Let’s hope this was a let down game, and the Bucs spring back this week. I have lost a great deal of faith in this coaching staffr though.
September 10th, 2013 at 11:30 am
When the Eagles come to town, they will beat the Bucs by 60. The difference between the Skins is that at halftime they made adjustments. The Little General doesn’t believe in that.b Halftime is for grabbing a sandwich, having a cool drink, taking a leak and smoking Marlboros.
Kelly head to head with Schiano will destroy him.
The Eagles fans were crying for joy in the 1st quarter while the Buc fans were crying in their beer.
September 10th, 2013 at 1:13 pm
The team that played Sunday against the Jets was a bad football team that played a bad game. Certainly there were bright spots on special teams and individual plays, but that team won’t win a game unless the other team self-destructs. At no point last year did this team ever play this poorly. Something is seriously wrong that isn’t going to be fixed overnight. Good coaches fail at times, see Belicheck, Saban, Meyer, Holtz, Shula, etc and go on to great success at the right team and the right time. Schiano’s taking this team backwards too fast to realistically believe success is just a game or two away. I hope the Glazers are seriously considering what needs to be done to save their investment before it’s destroyed.
September 10th, 2013 at 2:38 pm
I watched this poorly coached team in the preseason show no improvement at all and wrote a comment saying as much and was called ignorant. Everyone was saying it’s only preseason and you don’t know what you are talking about. I saw this 1st game coming and have waited for all the believers to come to the conclusion I came to in preseason, not ready for prime time Schiano is not and never will be an NFL coach.
September 10th, 2013 at 8:54 pm
Mr. Glazer please get us a pro G.M. and a real PRO coach.
