“Through The Ranks We’re Better”
August 28th, 2013Asked today to identify a standout player or something that surprised him in a good way this preseason, Greg Schiano praised his entire team.
“Through the ranks we’re better,” Schiano said. “And it should be. Right? We’re Year 2.”
Joe was pleased to hear this, and it also underscores how much pressure is on the Bucs this season in the mighty NFC. A head coach can’t really say his team is better across the board and then fail to improve.
The talent on the Bucs’ roster is stout, and the pressure to perform is as intense as it’s been in many years. Rightfully so.

standout player this preseason- Adam Hayward.

I would say several standout players:
-Foster. Some miscues in pass coverage, but he’s been all over the field.
-McCoy. Hasn’t been a preseason game yet he hasn’t blown by the OL a couple times per game.
-Banks. For a rookie, he’s doing quite well.
-OL. Turnstiles – GOT to clean that up.
-WR. GOT to start catching some balls with consistency.
-QB. Freeman not without his faults, but hard to gauge with OL and WR comments above.

I’ve said this before, but Darrelle Revis has yet to hit the field.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be a very, very different team with him on the field. There aren’t many players like this in the NFL and we haven’t had one like him in a long, long time (Sapp,Brooks)…..and I’m not sure we ever had a DB this good!

I have to agree with “bucfanjeff.”
The most you can ask of Freeman is to drill his receivers in the hands. If the receivers do their jobs and earn the zeros on their paychecks, 6-for-16 last week turns into a respectable 10-for-16 and you don’t need 2 miraculous special teams turnovers to bail out stalled drives.

Im liking Spence and Banks. although Banks needs to play those markers more on 3rd downs…he’s too far off and getting caught up in not letting the big play get by.

Let’s all hope Schiano has been sandbagging all preseason!
People in Tampa are sick of losing, year after year.
Jon Gruden never looked better!
At least we were competitive back then.
But fans here bitched so much about Gruden, the Glazers fired him and Allen, in a knee jerk reaction.
With the exception of one 10-6 year, it has been downhill ever since.
Go Bucs!

I am thankful to Coach Gruden for our Super Bowl victory, but I am also thankful we no longer have his old retread team to root for. I like having a young team with potential, not an old team looking for a final payday. We finally have depth (untested & young) across the board. Now lets win some games

Darrelle Revis has proved nothing yet to Tampa Bay Buccaneer fans.
It took Vincent Jackson a few games to prove himself. I am glad he panned out.
I have no hope for Revis until I start see him making an impact.
I have no hope for the 2 overpaid guards until they start making an impact again.
This ain’t the hall of fame. We need players now, that can help the Bucs win now.

Why are the two orobowl guards overpaid? Even the best pkayers get hurt, and you cannot blame a staff infection in nicks. One oriif the nicks is wirth the miney…check the timing if the big decline last year.

If only the roster was actually stout.
It’s not.

psycho buc fans that think that every nfl team except the bucs have starters sitting behind starters….i think were better off with our roster for instance, who will hurt more if the staring qb goes down bucs or saints or falcons or panthers…nah this roster is able to win now, no were not the seahawks or niners but falcons went 13-3 they couldnt beat them either
