Attacking Revis In The Run Game
August 2nd, 2013The Bucs open the regular season against the Jets, which means the national hype machine for all things New York already is in full force.
In this NFL Network video, analyst Jamie Dukes and Andrew Siciliano look at the impact of Revis in that Week 1 game and how the Jets might respond. They also include Rex Ryan’s recent quote that the Jets won’t be throwing a “back side out” pass Revis’ way.
There is footage of Revis at Bucs practice, and Dukes says he’s confident the Bucs will not play Revis unless he’s 100 percent healthy. As for the Jets, Dukes explains how they might test Revis early in the running game.
Joe finds all this early and deep breakdown quite amusing on Aug. 2. Regardless, even without Revis the Bucs should be at least a touchdown better than the imploding Jets.

If the Jets are Imploding, What were the Bucs last year. Drafting 9th is not that far away from 13th spot. So we need to get out all the lucky charms and voodoo doctors for the pop-star’s team to stay healthy so the Bucs can be “competitive”,

Joe Says
“Dukes says he’s confident the Bucs will not pay Revis unless he’s 100 percent healthy.”
I assume you meant “play”? Cause I didn’t see anything about paying Revis in the video.

No way Reavis will be on the sidelines come week 1. I’m betting he could play today if needed. The Bucs are simply bringing him along slowly because they can . Besides, giving snaps to the young guys is paramount in determining the roster. A far greater need than determining Revis’ on field progress right now.

The Jets need to be a lot more concerned with our running game than Revis against the run.

I believe this will be a statement game, by not just beating, but crushing the Jets in week one, the Bucs will announce they are a team to be reckoned, which will lead us right into our opening home game against the Saint’s who will be coming off their week one loss to the Falcons and who we owe an ass-whipping to.

Dukes is an idiot. Never liked the guy either. They bash the pass defense with stats and fail to mention number 1 run defense. Then Dukieshoot says run the ball at Revis. David will be all over that play like stink on $h!t.

Stonewall the running game & make the Jets throw.

Mack Attack,
Never liked Dukes either. He comes off as a self important turd. He probably failed to mention how great the Jets passing attack was last year given it did feature the studly gunslinger Sanchez.
What I will say Is that Ivory has given us some trouble in the past.
Keys to win? Kill them trying to stop Martin, shut down Ivory and make Geno the tool or Sanchez beat us with his arm.
See how easy that is?

To be honest with Sanchez at the helm this is the only game I would not be as concerned having to play without revis and play with younger corners. Sanchez is terrible.

If you arent new to being a Bucs fan then you already know that “terrible QBs” seem to play rather well against us for some odd reason.
I’m not expecting any blow outs. I expect a close game that we should (and better) win.

Really Couch Fan, because I’m expecting a first class beat down. I never believed the in the past type of theory when it comes to any team. You know like MY Bucs have never won a playoff game when the temp is 40 degrees or lower. Gruden proved that theory wrong. That type of crap I use as an example. or MY Bucs historically give up on a QB and then he goes on and does great things for another team. The past is the past, I focus on the here and now when it comes to those theories. The past has nothing to do with the current team or players. I expect a big win over the Jets. Followed by a close win over the Saints and a close win at N.E. Going 3 and 0h to start the show. It’s just what my crystal ball tells me.

I dont typically believe in something either until I see it happen over and over again. Such as terrible QBs putting on an aerial display against us. I agree the past has nothing to do with what happens in the future but I do acknowledge the fact that the Bucs more so than not play to the level of there competition.
That is why the Only thing I expect is to win. I dont care how pretty or ugly it is.

I hear you couch fan. I see it all the time. I rather not see Gino come in and light is up and be news for the next 7 days. Again I see if we aren’t full strength at corner Sanchez is best qb to go against in NFL

Revis will start week 1. End of story. Next.
