What could be funnier than Scott Pioli lecturing on employee relations? The former Chiefs general manager is notorious for tactics that would make KGB agents blush.
Audio below from SiriusXM NFL Radio has Pioli doing just that, but it’s in the context of the Jets potentially trading Darrelle Revis to the Bucs.
Pioli talks about the distraction Revis has caused, and is causing, in New York. And he explores an important question to Bucs fans, one that Pioli says GMs across the NFL are asking., “Is this player ever going to be happy?”

There’s a good chance player will be happy if he wasn’t playing for a God awful organization. Case in point: Vincent Jackson. Not happy with the Chargers who wouldn’t give him a long term commitment. He got that from us and was not only extremely productive but a leader and happy. I see a lot of similarities with Revis.

When your GM pays Mark Sanchez 48 million for butt fumbling, and you are the best CB in the game, you should be mad.
Trade for him, pay him, and play him all the way to the 2013 playoffs.

BTW, VJax was worth more than the Chargers could spend against the cap. Not the case with Bevis.

Jackson was not asking for 16 mil a year.
Clay Matthews just signed a 13.2 mil per year extension. Revis will want to top that.

Was there any risk in signing Vincent Jackson to a big money long-term contract? Be sure you review the history before you answer. No need to discuss the details, but some risks are worth it and some of them turn out to be no risk at all! Vincent Jackson is now the model for the Buccaneer Man!

^^^^ Have you all forgotten: Ronde Barber might retire, Biggers is gone, and Myron Lewis is on the roster.
Trading for Revis is worlds better than reaching for a CB 13th overall. Revis will fix what ails us most.
Getting Revis would offer be a treat for Freeman too, not only throwing against him in practice, but also not having to give up any pick 6’s to him anymore.
Seriously, all eyes could be put on Freeman, and he could answer the Franchise QB question, without the excuse of a wretched pass D.
Get Revis, and you can really see if Josh Freeman is a playoff QB. Adding Revis would further solidify our expectation of Buccaneer football becoming “playoff football” again.
24-40 for the GM, 55 starts for the GM, Revis is the exact player who could fix all of this. Or at least put the ball 100% in Freeman’s court: develop consistency, or take back up money.

I feel you bro; I’m so sick & tired about hearing about this damn trade. We will make it to the playoffs without the Revis

* Hypothetically with another year under the belts of -Leonard Johnson & Mark Barron; we will be a better pass defense. Plus the addition of Dashon “The Hawk” Goldson,
Now we draft some of the better Press man/run support corners.
examples:Robert Alford, D.J. Hayden, Terry Hawthorne . And the pass defense
will be better.
WE NEED MORE QUALITY DEPTH ON THIS TEAM.
If last years draft serves as any kind of indication. On what may transpire in this years draft. Then there will litany of trades in the 1st round. Therefore we’ll pick up some additional picks. And with the wealth of this years draft is in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round. Its time to take advantage of our rather large coaching department & scouting department. LET THEM DO THEIR JOB.

I used to hate when players held out until I found out a team can cut that player at any time. If a team threatens to cut a player if he doesn’t renegotiate his contract after overpaying a player, it’s good business. If a player overachieves and holds out for a new contract, all of a sudden he is greedy. I don’t like the double standard. Revis and other great players should hold out until contracts are guaranteed.

All we really know is that he doesn’t respect the Jets organization. After the cavalcade of bumbling up there, I can see why. In a new organization, one that he respects, he could be the biggest proponent the Bucs would have.
