“Not Succumbing To The Pressure”
April 14th, 2013New York/New Jersey takes on the Darrelle Revis trade aren’t exactly what you hear around the Tampa Bay area.
In this new SNY video, ex-Jet and former Rutgers star Ray Lucas strongly disagrees with colleague Adam Schein. An interesting point is made about new Jets GM John Idzik not caving to pressure to make a deal with the Bucs.

This is what will happen: We don’t trade for revis b4 the draft, Jets realize they need to get something for revis b4 he walks, they trade him during or right b4 the season starts for some mid round pics = Bucs win

The bucs have all the leverage, no need to take a dumb trade like this. Just wait and the Jets will come to us on our terms.

Those NY people are idiots and will look like idiots when this is all over…one way or another.

theyre gm isnt as smart as we thought, if no one wants revis now then who will compete with us after the draft when team fills their needs especially with all the cornerbacks in this draft. the longer the jets wait the less we will offer if for no other reason than them putting us through all their drama

We’ll soon know if the Bucs have the mettle to build vs buy.

Domonic if you read this ; you need to hold fast and not bend to Idzk. The whole world is watching you. Blow this and you are finished because you will be painted as a looser, and a push over. We are on your side.

Ray Lucas must be New York’s version of Shaun King
April 15th, 2013 at 2:59 am
What NY Jets version of Shaun King (love that Mr Patrick) is that…Dom can use LESS to move up to get Dee Milliner than what Idzick wants…so what do you think Dom would do with resented with an option that he wins all the way ’round?
…because if you don’t think Dom believes moving up to draft a rookie is the safer play for his Bucs AAAANNNDDD himself – knowing the fans wouldn’t put up a fuss (most Buc fans really do feel like Idzick has over played his hand), and absolutely KNOWS he dodges high expectations by investing in the selection of a young first rounder than trading a kings ransom for a player who has a couple of GREAT years in him, but will want a front loaded contract as his talents erode – he would no doubt offer immediate help But the team would hell past his prime.
I’m having a change of heart, I’m beginning to wonder if the Revis deal didn’t smoke out a potential draft day trade with someone in a position to snag Milliner…if it doesn’t work out, Dom can always go back to New York…who else wants Revis at this point? By then even Jets fans couldnt scream at Idzick for a 2013 & 2014 1st round pick – a 1 & w would be a foregone conclusion!
Yep, I may have just convinced myself that Dom’s actually in the drivers seat, and NOT Idzick…

I felt they showed a little lack of respect for our organization and our coach. They make it seem as if we’re so desperate that we’re willing to take their other mistakes off their hands as part of the deal because of how bad we want Revis.
If Dominik takes on Sanchez’s 8.5 million plus Revis’s outrageous salary demand, then I’ll agree with the Capt. Tim’s and the rest of the Dominik haters of the world. Just because we live south of the Hudson River doesn’t make us stupid and naïve. I hope…..

What the White Tiger said. Let’s maneuver behind the smokescreen for Dee or one of the other good prospects and build this team for the long haul. I’d rather have a solid core with plenty of cap room to keep guys than an annual Princess Revis headache before camp. And we may very well find ourselves needing the 2014 1st rounder for a QB, DE, or DT.

4everbucfan- well said. But I don’t hate Dom. I love that he has squired V. Jackson and others.
I just do not understand his refusal to improve our secondary over the last 4 years. I feel it was a huge mistake to continue to be defendant on players- who proved time and again to be undependable. It has prevented this team from being competitive.
I am an employer. And deal with the same typed of problems/people that Dom is faced with. If I keep choosing to put people in key positions- who have substance issues/ attitude problems- their continued failures very soon will no longer be blamed on them. Their failures will be blamed on me. Once identified, you can try to help these people. But you don’t count on them- until they prove you can
This is my problem with Dom. And if he actually takes Sanchez outrageous contract- in order to aquire Revis- then he has made one of the worst trades in Buccaneer history.
Sanchez is not, and will never be, a good NFL quarterback.
If we take both him and Revis- we have opened the lid, and allowed the Jets to sit down and dump their huge Payroll mistakes on us.
It would be a horrible mistake. I hope Dom doesn’t do this to the team. Our players deserve better, than to be placed in NYs salary hell
