April 10th, 2013In this New York Daily News roundtable video, a group of annoying yet entertaining New York media dive into the Darrelle Revis saga. Theories floated include painting Jets general manager John Idzik as a tough guy and Darrelle Revis as overrated.

“annoying” and “New York” are redundant

Man im tired of hearing about all this D Revis crap. A bunch of “reports” that could very well be made up or over blown. I wish the media would just wait til something actually happens. Im thinking about just making up rumors too. How about this one: The Jets have agreed in principle to trade Revis to the Bucs for Eric Wright, Legarette Blount, 2nd rounder and 6th rounder. Lets hear everyone freak out over another BS report. PRINT IT MEDIA!

You could make a case that if Ronde Barber comes back for another season to play the nickel, the Bucs are actually better right now at CB then they were last season, and they still have the draft coming up.
Eric Wright was signed to be the Bucs number one corner last season, or at the very least he was paid like a number one corner, and while he didn’t pan out, he is back on a reduced deal to prove his worth.
One or multiple draft picks are likely to be spent on the corner position, with or without Revis. Young players such as Leonard Johnson and Danny Gorrer will have more experience and Ronde Barber might come back. I think this information alone is proof the Bucs hold most of the cards, while Revis himself holds the rest as he would need to agree to a contract.
All the other reports is the typical NY media bluster. The same bluster that made a non-story (The end of Bucs vs Giants last season) about rushing the line at the end of a one score game. I hope this is resolved this month, but I wouldn’t be shocked if this dragged into the summer. Ugh.

Idzik does not like Domonic and that is a lot of why the negotiations have been as unproductive as they have been. Ask anyone who knows the history of the two men in the Bucs front office. Idzik is trying to make Domonic look like a fool.

Guys! Guys! Guys! (huff puff…hyperventilate)….
Breaking news:
…We’re trading Blount and Wright and a 2nd rounder for REVIS!
AWESOME!

“Idzik is a tough guy and Revis is overrated.” Can’t argue with that assessment. Spot on.

Blount and Wright 2nd rounder !! Joe call New York !!!

Bucs should only offer this years first round pick. Let the Jets stand their ground in pursuit of getting more picks, then we (the Bucs) proceed with making all of our picks and allow the draft to come and go. Then proceed with negotiations and only putting next years 1st rd on the table. We are the Jets only trade partner, we have leverage.

If he is trying to make Domonic look bad and Domonic know’s it, it becomes easier for Domonic to string him along by playing dumb. What if Domonic really does not want Revis. If the Buc’s are the only players for Revis, the ball is in our court.
Years ago I had a de-fugal-ity with my girl friend. She wanted a big wedding and I didn’t want to get married.

I’m with that one guy when he said Revis was over-rated.

2nd and 4th rounder in the 2014 draft, how’s that for hardball? 🙂 Hardball is when the Jets fans get pissed for their star playing walking next year because you were too stubborn to get anything for him this offseason.
