Derrick Brooks Mocks Tim Brown, Jerry Rice
January 23rd, 2013The reckless charge issued by former Raiders receiver Tim Brown, claiming that former coach Bill Callahan “sabotaged” the game and threw the Super Bowl to the Bucs, backed up by Jerry Rice on BSPN, brought both laughter and disgust to former Bucs great linebacker Derrick Brooks.
Brooks appeared with Joe’s good friend, “The Big Dog,” Steve Duemig, of WDAE-AM 620 Wednesday, and didn’t hold back on what he thought about Brown’s irresponsible charges.
“We beat them!” Brooks said between guffaws.
Brooks’ took a more serious tone later when he admitted he and his Bucs teammates were offended by Brown’s words.
“No one gave us anything. No one, as far as I’m concerned, sabotaged anything,” Brooks said. “We went out and we earned that victory and we’re celebrating 10 years later. If you look at our offense, their defense didn’t stop our offense at all!”

Excellent point by Brooks. With no defensive scores, the Bucs still would’ve won the game 27-21.

Glad to hear someone from our side react to this. I havent commented because the whole thing is just so stupid to begin with that it needed no comment. Still would love to hear Gruden’s take though.

Let’s hear from Chucky!

And the story is over. Time for NEWS.

Sooo….let me get this straight. The Raiders were going to not use the NFL mvp…Gannnon….Brown and Rice. …and instead pound them with the legendary Zack Crockett. Yeah that would have worked.
January 23rd, 2013 at 8:03 pm
Yeah because when I am REALLY good friends with a guy, like Gruden and Callahan apparently were…. I ALWAYS lose to them on purpose so I can hear about it for the rest of my life. On the biggest stage in the World I would have to let him beat me by at least 40…just sayin
January 23rd, 2013 at 8:45 pm
And you just hurd it from the greatest outside lb to ever play the game
January 23rd, 2013 at 9:03 pm
Heck, let them play the game again and we still whip that tail….typical Raiders sore loser!

They should run this interview on ESPN & NFL Total Access if they haven’t

Wow, if “really good” friends will do that for one another, I wonder which Harbaugh brother will sabotage the SB?

Id like to know why the guy didnt change his terminology, playing the guy who invented the terminology. And I wonder how Jon knew they werent going to change it? Or did he?
Not that it woulda mattered. The Bucs were just ready to roll that day. They were not going to lose no matter what game plan they came up with or if their nut case center showed up.
If anything, the final score was closer than reflects the beat down that occurred.

Eric
I dont think you could change terminalogy in less than a week and have the same effectivness.
As for not changing/doing it earlier in year, first why would you want to fix something that’s not broke(they had #1 offense that year), and second there’s no way they would know who THEY were playing in SB, even if they knew THEY would make it.
It all boils down to execution! We DID and they DIDN’T!

Bucs won fair and square. Quit yer crying. loser
