Talib The Savior

January 7th, 2013

You would think Aqib Talib was heaven sent to the New England Patriots, if you read this Talib feature story in Sunday’s Eagle Tribune, a north Massachusetts/New Hampshire newspaper.

From Bill Belicheat’s comments to those of Patriots players to the stats rolled out to support Talib’s savior status, it’s almost hard to believe.

As for Talib, he says New England is more professional than what he ever experienced in Tampa under Jon Gruden, Raheem Morris and the New Schiano Order.

”As soon as you walk in the building you notice it,” said Talib. “It’s all about team here. Everybody is a professional. I have never experienced anything like this. I see the owner, Mr. (Robert) Kraft every day. That’s amazing, man. Coach Belichick treats everybody like a man, with respect. He’s a cool guy.”

Joe still would have traded Talib to the Pats for a fourth-round pick. It was the right move. The only thing reliable about Talib was his unreliability. And it surely would have made no sense for the Bucs to pay him a fortune in free agency after this season.

  2. Terraj Says:

What does Talib know about acting like a professional?..This quote just sounds like hes working on trying to get signed by the Pats this offseason.

  3. Buc Fan #238 Says:

Raheem Morris must have not have impacted this young man in his early career.

    Rah was a waste.

  4. Tim Says:

he will break there heart. something stupid will go down if they struggle in the first playoff game and the east coast media has some Talib A$$ for getting burned. his true colors will come out and the Cheat will run Talib out of town. Dominick stole that pick.

  5. Ian P. Says:

Nice choice of photo… reminding us of that inconsistent, underachiever who our southern neighbors shipped up to NE for a song, who then immediately became one of the best in the NFL at his position.

Let’s hope that Talib doesn’t end up like him.

  6. Ramdog Says:

It’s all fun and games until at the Superbowl after party he pistol-whips a hooker after doing coke laced with adderall off her a$$ 😉

  7. Kevin Says:

Tigers don’t change their stripes…Well done Buccaneers.

  8. Tim Says:

well said Ramdog… At least the cell phone video will be entertaining.

  9. SacBucs Says:

Like I said before, You don’t coach grown men like a pop warner team. Stop the yelling and quit saying its motivational because its Not! Treat a man like a man and he will play like a man. With respect not threats!

  10. Andrew 1 Says:

I guarantee you the pats weren’t like that when Bill Belicheat first got the there. over time, winning sets an example.

  11. Mr. Patrick Says:

Just a matter of time until he screws up again, then we’ll see what nice things he has to say about them when he comes to work and finds his locker cleaned out. I feel sorry for the cabbie that takes him to the airport on his way out of Foxboro.

    @ Sacbucs

Please, give me an f ing break. Ive see plenty of videos of Bill cussing out his players and demeaning them in front of other players. ever hear the saying give a football player an inch, and he will take a yard.

  13. BucNeckid Says:

Good for Talib and Good for the Bucs
Regardless of whatever overtures all were making that Talib was becoming a changed man, the best decision was made for all involved.
There was no way that the Bucs could ever feel comfortable giving Talib Big Buck$ in a new Contract so the fact that they got anything for him after the Adderall issue was a coup. Pats needed a decent CB and Talib WAS the Bucs number one CB not too long ago. Worth the risk for them to take a flyer on him, they were desperate.
It apparently has worked out for all involved.

  14. Andrew 1 Says:

Talib is bucs history. lets keep it that way.

  15. SilenceTheCritics Says:

I hope the best for the guy and stays clean. I dont have any hate for him or how things went down. Both teams won in this trade. We got a decent pick for a player that wasnt coming back, he got a chance of scenery, and pats got a good DB if he ever straightens out. Everybody wins.

  16. SacBucs Says:

Andrew whos f-ing talkin to you! You give me a break lil boy! Mind yo business!

  17. ClayBURN94 Says:

Lol I hate to break it to you sac bucs but Bellicheck does plenty of screaming at his players. Only difference is he’s had alot more time to set an example.

  18. bucfever40 Says:

Aqib is a thug before he’s anything else, personally I hope he crashes in burns in NE. To already be dissing his former team tells you all you need to know about the jerk! He has no grace or professionalism anywhere on that man’s attitude, he screwed us in Tampa, then has the audacity to talk bad about the team that gave him so many chances, what a POS!

  19. bucfever40 Says:

How do you treat a man like a man, when he doesn’t act like a man? You need to move on with that BS, if he’s a pro, he needs to act like one, not like a gangster, dig? Put the drugs away, stop picking fights with people trying to give you a service, and after you put your gun away, tell your mother to do the same!

  20. lurker Says:

    hey nutsacbucs,

you post and run your piehole, people are going to comment….doh
so you were “talkin to him”.

ps enjoy your brad johnson jersey!

  24. Sneedy16 Says:

Wish the him the best and hope he can really turn his career around, because one more incident and he is suspended for a year.

  25. Andrew 1 Says:

    @ SacBucs

Wow, one of the few times I could actually understanding what the hell your saying. I think I liked you better when you where tripin on acid though. lol if you want people to ignore what your saying then go back to the acid. they be to dumbfounded to respond.

  26. BigMacAttack Says:

I wish Talib the best and the Pats will be tough to beat. I’m pulling for the Texans since I grew up in Houston. Peyton Manning will light Talib up like a Christmas tree if it comes to that. I also like Arthur Blank and want to see the Falcons make it to New Orleans. If it can’t be us it might as well be them.

  27. BigMacAttack Says:

I remember the first time I dropped acid. I just got out of the Suck and was working for Pennzoil. My boss was an ex cop and Goofy with Window Pane for lunch got the best of me and a buddy. I told my boss to F off and he thought we were drunk. I couldn’t stop laughing and he sent us home. I thought my face was going to be stuck with a permanent smile. Haven’t done it since but my boss was still an A hole. We hated that guy, called him Napoleon.

  28. PRBucFan Says:

    Bahahahahahahhahaha!

    Now that was funny

  29. MTM Says:

Of course Talib thinks its a great organization. Talib wants to be resigned.
