Michael Bennett Bullish On Bucs’ Defensive Line
December 30th, 2012The Bucs sacks leader, Michael Bennett, who perhaps may have played his last game for the Pewter Pirates today, spoke on the Bucs radio network after the game. He seemed as if he wants to return to the Bucs when he hits free agency in March.
“Coach trusted the four-man rush today,” Bennett said. “The past four games, we were doing a lot of games [stunts on the defensive line] but today, we showed what we can do. Gerald was a beast today and Da’Quan showed what he can do. Da’Quan had two sacks that didn’t count.
“I grew with this team. It was the first full season that I played with Gerald. It was an up and down season but we get AC [Adrian Clayborn] back so you can see what kind of defense we can have. We played really good today.”

agreed …. Coach really got em going…we need to sign Bennett

We can’t lose him…….it’s taken us forever to land an effective defensive end like him. Bowers isn’t proven yet; Bennett is. We lose Bennett and it’s just another need we have to address.

Notice he gave credit where credit is properly due: Gerald McCoy.

Get him. Get his brother. Set Stocker adrift.
December 30th, 2012 at 6:26 pm
resign him and that will give us a chance to sign his brother Martellus Bennett a TE which is something we need. Stocker did have a nice game today but we need another TE, Clark is as good as gone. BUC IT IM OUT!!!!!!!!

Bennett will be back. That’s why Dominik freed up all that cash last week with VJ and Nicks.

Goes to show you all that silly blitzing was pointless this season.
December 30th, 2012 at 6:34 pm
Agree with everything Mr. Bennett said. Lets resign him, sign his brother, get Clayborn back- watch these guys dominate! Hats off to Mr. Miller also, who played very well this year at the nose!

If we keep Wright after he agrees to restructuring his -paycut- contract, give the residuals and whatever amount necessary to keep Bennett in Tampa. With the prospects of a DL consisting of Bennett, Clayborn, Bowers & Pro Bowl Defensive Tackle Gerald McCoy sounds good to me, all 4 at the same damn time.

will be interesting to see if we resign him. I believe its a 50/50 chance. it all boils down to how much is to much to resign him because you just know some team is going to throw a ridiculous amount of cash his way.

Is it accurate that the Bucs (and any other NFL team) can begin to sign their own free agents starting tomorrow? Or do they have to wait to the start of FA season in March.

PLEASE COME BACK NEXT SEASON BENNETT! he does sound like a guy that is willing to come back here and wants to for the right price, he had a solid season.
December 30th, 2012 at 8:57 pm
Give him Eric Wright’s money……he earned, now pay the guy!
December 31st, 2012 at 12:05 pm
I would really like to see Adrian Clayborn/GMC/Bennett/Bowers on that front 4 next year!
