Brooks Is Sure Bucs Are Doubting Coaches
December 21st, 2012Send that coach back to college!
That’s the feeling that went through Derrick Brooks’ mind when a little known defensive backs coach at Ohio State, Lovie Smith, join the Bucs as linebackers coach and had Brooks doing things he thought were senseless in 1996.
So with that in mind, Brooks said this week that he does not doubt the veracity of the controversial anonymous quote on ProFootballTalk.com that claimed a frustrated Buccaneer player told writer/chief Mike Florio, “Can we send these coaches back to college?” following the loss to the Saints.
Brooks explained to Steve Duemig, of WDAE-AM 620, that players doubting the Schiano regime likely has been a common and healthy part of the process.
“I can see [a comment like] this probably happening well before last week, man,” Brooks said, “because they see, especially if you’re a veteran, that these coaches are new or coached in college. They did. Lovie Smith was my linebacker coach who coached DBs coach in college but came to the pros as a linebacker coach. I would like to sit here and tell you every day that I went in there I didn’t have a question or two about something we were doing, or something he was teaching. ‘Like man, is this going to work? These are DB drills. We linebackers.’ But it stayed within and I went out and I executed everything he asked me to do. I didn’t question him; I just asked myself internally, ‘is this going to work?’ I smartened up. The only way it’s going to work, Steve, is when I go out there and do it.”
This was tremendous insight from Brooks. And it ties into something Brooks said earlier about Schiano picking the Buccaneer weeds at the end of the season. Joe suspects there will be a surprise or two in the gardencleaning.

and Brooks’ insight was spot-on re: Mark Barron this morning on his SiriusXM Radio Show too!!! I believe Adam Hayward is gone. Ronde could be back. Its up to #20. Tiquan Underwood & Both Tight Ends are GONE

The difference is that Tony Dungy brought such a tremendous depth of experience in the NFL, the players bought into it.
Now our Head Coach is himself a college coach with virtually no NFL experience.
Night and day.

Maybe Schiano isn’t cut up for the NFL after all, I still not over the fact that he is a defensive coach that can’t get the pass defense straight not even when we are ahead and the other team has to pass we continue to get burn all over the field.

I like Brook’s take here. There are certainly days I don’t care for what my boss is asking me to do. I’m sure it was quit easy to find a few guys a little disgruntled after that NO beat down. Good players keep the complaining in house however. Maybe the new coaching staff is hitting the rookie wall a little.

Bears don’t make the playoffs. Lovie Smith may get fired. Bring him back to Tampa as D coordinator. Pay him what it takes to bring him back, and the defense will be top 10 once again.

Isn’t it funny how those wanting to get rid of Shiano will grasp at almost any straw? Sorta like Oboma wanting to take away all our guns. Shiano will be back next year with a better team. More players buying in on the program also.

I think the Bucs need a coach who can adapt on the fly and coach all types of personalities, even the Kellen Winslows. Kellen cost the Bucs a 2nd round draft pick and got nothing in return. He was a good receiving tight end and would have helped this team make the playoffs.
There is a case for every player that was purged because the Little General was too obstinate and butch to relate to.
I would recommend he read a book this off season written by Leo Durocher called “Nice Guys Finish Last.” It goes into detail on how to coach different personalities and to bring out the best performance in each one.

Somebody should tell leperchan he’s not coaching kids on a pop warner team. College youths either…You coach grown men with a mutual respect, Not with threats, fines or playing time disciplinary acts. Kellen, Price, Parker, Jones Talib, Geno and Tanard could of helped us with depth.
Schiano keep Grimm, Hayward, Stroughter, Miller, Black and all them dam TE’s. He thinned the depth out by keeping underperforming players getting rid of the proving ones we did have! No f-ings rookies can account for all the game time and experiece Schiano has let go!
All these players had accepted Tampa as the team and family they never had. Rekindled careers, player just starting careers on a new team that wanted there services. Then Mr.Cleanhouse Schiano comes in here and destroys our secondary we just built up. It was Rah scheme not the players last year! Tjax-Jones-Black-Barron-Talib-Barber with Lewis-Biggers and Gaitor playing nickel&dime our secondary was straight. I dont wanna hear that adderal shh seattle cb’s on it too. I think its the new hgh imo..I think Wright came with his pill bottle because Aqib never had this problem before he got to one buc.
My opinion on Price is this: Schiano and Dom drop the ball on handling Price. Ball Security! Here is a man who just lost one of his sibling. His mental physical emotional mind state was fragile. The Bucs was the only family he could turn too. Mark Barron and his 1st round money swag should of got his arse up out the chair. And been there for his brotherhood by letting whatever he said or did go. Price shouldn’t have been taking his shh out on Barron either. Its a two way street! Price needed his pirates and new captain in his corner!
My point: Don’t come in here with that Family shh when you left your family behind!

You JBF site anal-list tell me if we would of came out better on the money side and draft picks. If all the players i spoke of in the previous post were keep or just riding the bench. No BIG CONTRACTS.
Tjax..pothead so what, he played safety better then dexter and was way faster then lynch. I seen him fracture Dallas Clark and Jason Witten ribs in the same year. Hit hard tanard had that stick factor. He is a better safety then Ronde on his worst day. Hi off weeds! Grimm isn’t even on the same shelf. Jones was the best. He helped Talib have his best year as a Buc. Geno is far better then Quincy but we pay Black and ship Hayes. Backwards!!
Get Brandon Marshall for the 4th round pick the Bears gave up and we save 5,555,555. Plaxico or Moss can do what Vincent is doing, although I like Vjaxz!
Getting Asante Samuels for 3yrs 19mill is a better then 5yrs 35mil for Wright, to late now! This is why I don’t worry about what I can’t control. If I lived by one buc I would probably be in jail for throwing rocks thr

If I lived by one buc I would probably be in jail for throwing rocks with messages through windows saying” What the fudge are u doing dumba$$” I can’t wait to see blount get released to become the beast and come back to haunt leperchan! I hate Dicktators!
