The Bucs And The Playoffs
November 20th, 2012Just the thought that the Bucs might be in the playoffs is mind-boggling to Joe after such a rancid display of football last year. Jim Basquil and Eric Allen discuss Bucs playoff possibilties in this ESPN video.

I don’t like Florio either, but he’s right. We’ve got better fan support outside of Tampa, it seems, than inside. For what it cost to travel, get a hotel, and buy tickets for Sunday’s game, I could’ve bought season tickets for the Bucs (if I lived near Tampa). If I lived close enough, I’d do it in a heartbeat…unfortunately, there’s not enough true fans out there. You can’t blame the economy when the strip clubs are full and people are plopping down $200+ on the latest technological gadget. Support your team if you’re in the Tampa area or STFU. It sickens me that we can’t get 55,000 people in the Tampa area to come out and watch this exciting product.

I just don’t understand how the comment about attendance (for the second week in a row) applies even slightly to the Buccaneers and their “Power Ranking”
It’s not a ranking of fans or stadium attendance.

My apologies Joe, wont happen again. On a different note… HOW BOUT THEM BUCS!

I have serious reservations about this team being able to go 10-6. They’ve only beaten a single team this year with a winning record, and that team (the Vikings) is considered somewhat overrated right now.
Upcoming they have three games against division leaders (Atlanta twice & Denver) and another against a surging and very dangerous Saints team that already beat the Bucs. The Rams should be a win but isn’t a gimme as they’ve played most teams very tough this year. Philly at the moment should be a gimme, but if they get Vick back before they play us that makes them more dangerous.
So do you really believe they’re gonna win four out of six against a very tough remaining schedule? I think it’s far more likely they end up with nine wins. Not ten.

@FLboy
who cares about your reservations… the Bucs are a good team. The games we lost were hard fought (I think six points is the most we lost by).
We are a good team that can compete with any other team in the NFL
I really believe that our team has the ability to win 10 or more games because we are tough, competitive, disciplined and we don’t give up.
Maybe you should try watching a game or two before you post a comment.

IM KINDA GETTING IRRITATED AT ALL THE MEDIA PUNDITS FORGETTING HE THREW A TOUCHDOWN TO BYHAM IN THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME….HOW CAN THEY SAY HE WAS 2-12 WIT 0TD AND 1 INT IN THE FIRST 58 MINUTES? DID BRAD JOHNSON COME BACK TOT HE BUCS AND THROW THAT TD??? DO SOME RESEARCH MAN
November 20th, 2012 at 2:31 pm
FlBoy…I think it is very possible for them to win 4, however, they may only win 2. I tend to always think they will win. Also, remember they have not lost a game by more than 7 points. If those “better” teams blew them out, then I may agree with you. I think this team can beat anyone on any given Sunday. That does not mean that they will, but yes I beleive they have a chance at going 10 – 6. I will admit that I do not look so much at if a team had a winning record when we beat them. This is the NFL, and the Bucs have basically the same schedule as ATL, CAR, and NO. The Bucs have found their offensive identity, look out when the defense comes together.
November 20th, 2012 at 2:33 pm
Oh, and if NO is surging, so are the bucs!
November 20th, 2012 at 2:36 pm
Santos, no need to yell! I agree though, it seems like the first quarter never happened when people talk about this game. The first half Freeman looked pretty good. The offense went to crap for the rest of the game leading up to the last six minutes.

@Sergio Carr
I care about my reservations and it’s my opinion to share as I please. Go away if you’re going to harass others about their insights into their team. I’ve watched every single game this season and most of them twice. It’s obvious you’re new to JBF because you can’t handle other fans’ opinions with maturity. Just crawl back under whatever rock you came from and sit back while the adults discuss things. Children should be seen and not heard, especially if they don’t know how to talk.

@McBuc
I agree they can go 10-6 but I’m saying it’s definitely not a given. They could easily win one or even two fewer games than that. Either scenario is possible at this point.
Now if Wright was completely healthy and the pass defense was showing significant improvement each week I would be much more optimistic. But when you have the dead last ranked pass defense in the NFL you are in trouble against guys like Ryan, Manning and Brees. Serious trouble.

Santos & McBuc,
Look a little closer at the statistics being broken down. These stats are for passes 10yds or LONGER. They had me confused at first glance as well. If anything, I was amazed at how many shots down field JFree took in the 1st half.
Watched the game until the final whistle and I was impressed with the resilience and fight that the team showed. I am really enjoying watching the team play this year after such a horrendous end to the 2011 season.
I will be in attendance this Sunday and hope to see a packed crowd. Can’t wait to ge the chants going!
