Blount’s A Man Of “Great Maturity”
October 16th, 2012The very part-time young running back with a career average of 4.7 yards per carry isn’t pouting. He’s not moaning and getting all diva because of limited work. And his head coach respects that.
The leader of the New Schiano Order offered great praise for LeGarrette Blount yesterday evening during The Greg Schiano Show on WDAE-AM 620.
“Well, I’ll tell you. I think LeGarrette’s shown great maturity in the way he’s handled the whole situation,” Schiano said of Blount of accepting his reduced role. “Certainly, there’s one or two ways you can take it: you can be frustrated and act out, or you can just keep workin’ and be part of the solution. And that’s exactly what he’s been. He’s done some really good things and I look forward to it the rest of the year.”
Joe still shakes his head when thinking of Blount not getting more action. Yeah, it picked up Sunday, but a lot of that was with the Bucs up by three scores in the fourth quarter, “garbage time” as Marv Albert would call it.
But kudos to Blount. He’s running hard, working hard and clearly healthy.

He lost weight & is quicker, so those bounces actually work. Right now he looks like a guy who would thrive in a Mike Shanahan, one cut & go, zone scheme.

You can visibly see the amount of support Blount has from the Veterans. The entire team practically tackled him in the end zone after his “garbage time” TD. On the sidelines he continued to get congrats through the commercial break. It would certainly be nice to see more of Blount! The fans want it, the Team wants it, and the man Deserves it!

Other than Schiano trading up to draft Martin, I missed how Martin beat out Blount for the starting job. They both did well in the pre-season.

Maybe he will sign with an AFC team so we won’t have to face him during the regular season next year. I hope I’m wrong but with him being a Free Agen, albeit Restricted, I don’t see the Bucs signing him.

I used to think he needed to stay far away from Talib, because he had that potential of that mentality, but I am so proud that he has broken away from that stigma and is nothing like Talib now, he is truly a very coachable young man and I’m glad he’s got Coach’s support! He’s still a beast!

I thought he was an incorrigible thug, now he scores two touchdowns and we’re grooming him for the Nobel Peace Prize. Geez!
Colorado is correct, he is a team favorite.

Just hang the bell on him already and milk that cow

I also noticed him pass blocking on several occasions. Pass blocking well, I might add. Make that man a starter and give him a new contract!

I see us resigning Blount and him and Martin will be here for awhile …

Martin hasnt shown me anything in the game that says he is a better pass catcher. Outside the long catch he had last week he has had a few drops

Amazing how fans change their tunes so quickly around here, lol.

Giving #27 the ball historically equates to winning. That cannot be disproved. Coach is all out of excuses. He catches well, he’s started blocking well, and he is running well. The fans love him and the team loves him.

Also, Oahu, he showed good vision in his TD run.

I also agree Blount needs more carries, and I highly suspect he will. The coaches are smarter than us, and he has earned himself more carries. That being said, I think one great thing about the light work he’s received so far is that he is going to be incredibly fresh for the stretch run. As the season progresses, defenses are beat up, sore, and tired. It gets harder and harder to get out of bed everyday as the season moves on. Now you have to play against a fresh Legarette Blount, who’s ready to run you over. I suspect that wouldn’t be a good thing for opposing defenses.

I agree with all of you who are in favor of Blount. He is my favorite buc player so to see him not being used is frustrating for me. i miss seeing him running the ball…

He’s the coffin nail. That’s how to use him. They said they were figuring that out. Excellent conclusion. You know, on that first Freeman pick, Doug got pushed back and pancaked into Freeman by a defensive tackle. I say Blount holds his ground a little better in that situation. His vision in both areas, blocking and running, does look much better. Mad props to these guys for coaching so many of these kids up who we all know are good.
