“Baloney!”
September 23rd, 2012Joe really loves this video below, a tight shot of Greg Schiano and Tom Coughlin during their infamous confrontation last week.
Unfortunately, bleeps are used but lip-reading is available. Joe loves the “baloney” line Schiano drops on Coughlin, as well as the firm grip the Bucs head coach has on Coughlin’s arm. Veteran Tampa Bay sports media guy JP Peterson apparently corralled the video from his former comrades at WFLA-TV and used it as part of a post on TampaBaySportsCentral.com that compares Greg Schiano’s kneel-down play to the Rays’ famous preseason dustup with the New York Yankees in 2008.

would rather have a W but bad or good publicity is publicity great view and audio just adds too the thought of how bad schiano would of whoopd on him haha!
September 23rd, 2012 at 12:53 am
To accuse a man of trying to intentionally hurt the QB is ridiculous.

i need joe to transcribe this! come on joe. please!
September 23rd, 2012 at 1:04 am
Yeah the whole thing was more of the same from the Woe is Me G “men”.
“The media pays more attention to the other NY football team, its not fair”.
“The cameras are too close to the sideline for us and our player got hurt, its not fair”
“The Bucs didn’t stop playing when we asked them to, its not fair.”
I wonder what they will cry about next week.
September 23rd, 2012 at 1:54 am
Coughlin is a whiny little baby apparently (pretentious too). I’ve lost all respect for Coughlin. Giants need to get over themselves.
September 23rd, 2012 at 6:43 am
Yeah, the week before schiano took 3 kneeldowns. As for the gmen, they’re cryin in their lombardi trophy so lol. Will be interesting to see what happens the next time you guys take a kneeldown. But you know what, maybe the idiot rookie coach will run a play to run out the clock (because we never stop playing……..). It’ll even out.

Awesome! Thx for this. Did he say “Don’t you f’ing walk away from me.”?
September 23rd, 2012 at 7:17 am
i wish Schiano was my dad. maybe he can can adopt me? hey i can dream cant I.
September 23rd, 2012 at 7:24 am
Nice work on the vid. A great example showing why to visit this site.
September 23rd, 2012 at 7:52 am
The players at the end sure seemed embarrassed buy Schiano . No doubt about that. Rhonde rolled his eyes at the stupidity of it. I guess this move has really “fired up the players.” Nope. Just a rookie coach trying to put his big boy pants on and looking like a chump.
September 23rd, 2012 at 7:54 am
Tom looked he was trying to rush off, he don’t want it with Schiano…lol
September 23rd, 2012 at 8:01 am
Schiano has a reputation of being a dirtbag, in this case he was a bitter dirtbag.
September 23rd, 2012 at 8:14 am
Isn’t balogna spelled like this? Such a weird word.

Joe, great article, great video. Nice write up citing you on PFT. Coughlin is the one coming off as a “bully” in the video. You would figure a seasoned guy like him could have a discussion without resorting to childish swearing.
September 23rd, 2012 at 9:44 am
if the Giants would have done it the story would have read different. I HATE NEW YORK!!!! they are always crying if thing dont go their way. what a bunch of babies, they think because their the largest city they should win everthing. i love to watch them lose and look for excuses. BUC IT IM OUT!!!!!!!!!!
September 23rd, 2012 at 10:17 am
Pretty disappointed as a Bucs fan. I have never seen this angle before. Felt kinda bad for Schiano before, getting scolded by old man Coughlin, but Schiano grabs Coughlin’s arm and he really comes off like a big time bully. Ugh. This is not a good start.
It’s one thing to defend your team. It’s another to defend classless bs like this. The stuff coming out about Schiano is worrisome. You try to change the culture of a losing locker room, yes, but you are also trying to develop men. The players looked embarrassed and ashamed. Man up, Tampa. Don’t support this bs from the franchise and coach.

Also, it’s kind of funny that this has taken over what should be the main story, that Eli did to the Bucs what he does best: crushing another team’s dream when they thought they’d win the game. Why accuse Coughlin of “crying”, when it is the Giants who beat the Bucs, remember? In fact, it’s just the opposite. Schiano’s ploy at the end just looks like sour grapes because his ass was handed to him in the 4th quarter. I am a Rutgers guy and love how Schiano turned their team around. But objectively, this just seems like a punk move. The Giants patented the term “Finish”. Maybe Schiano could learn how to actually finish a game by teaching his team to play 4th quarter defense and not just piling on in a meaningless kneel-down play.

Greg Schiano is a clown who is coaching a mickey mouse franchise and trying to make a name for himself. Hope he enjoys his short stay in the big leagues. His own players don’t respect him as evidenced by their “We did what we were coached to do” responses after the game. Mickey Mouse franchise with no identity that nobody cares about.
But hey, nice pirate ship in the stadium!! Haha.
Losers.

Moondwg that’s the worst part. They won and they still cry. It’s been a constant trend with the G”men”. This is the first year that NY fans weren’t looking for Coughlins head and all of a sudden he’s the most knowledgable guy in football. I’ll take the bully over the coach that has found something to complain abbot every week so far. Hopefully Dallas is ready to play football so we wont have to worry about them running to the media about how the Bucs are big Meanies.
September 23rd, 2012 at 10:37 am
I just saw in 2013 thigh and knee pads are required next year because the G “Men” cryed about Rolle hitting the sideline camera. They are realling rolling now. Their tears are causing change at least.
September 23rd, 2012 at 10:52 am
Have I got this correct? According to Coughlin in the NFL it is the Offense that has the sole right to play until the final seconds and not the Defense?
If the Giants had been down by 7 points with 5 seconds remaining you can bet Eli would’ve been throwing as many “Hail Marys” to the end zone as possible until the clock reached 00.00 with THE POSSIBILITY of risk of injuries to himself and players on both sides of the ball.
In this light you can clearly see how ridiculous Tom Coughlin’s bitchy tantrum is and what ignorant Goobers some of the NY FANS who posted on here really are.

JBrooks, There’s a difference between being tough and playing cheaply. The Bucs of all people, should know that, as they have a fine tradition of tough play, with admittedly a little cheapness thrown in (Sapp illustrated both). Tough guys don’t have to hit defenseless linemen to make a point. They just suck up the pain and win games (kind of like, um. . .the Giants). I guess you can enjoy pretending you guys have the tough team, and that the Giants cry. We will take the victory and 2 Championships in the last 5 years. I have been having fun bantering, but I am out. Good luck this year.
September 23rd, 2012 at 11:07 am
It’s embarrassing that Ronde has to face the cameras and cover for that cheap shot punk. If the Bucs are that tough, why didn’t they keep the Giants out of the end zone instead of laying down like bitches.
If they’re going to lose, lose with dignity.
September 23rd, 2012 at 11:12 am
The guy who posted above me is a Douche bag, that is a fact
September 23rd, 2012 at 11:16 am
Everyone shoulod be talking about a freshfaced Bucs team with an innovative coach who does not QUIT! They were on the 30 we had a chance and took it. Waaaaaaaaaah. Punk asses want to say different screw em! Our secondary looked good for 3 quarters, collapsed, and the coach took the heat off their backs. It is what it is…move on nothing to see here!
September 23rd, 2012 at 11:22 am
Seems people are getting confused by semantics. Either side can justify it or condemn it all they want. The bottom line is, it was a desperation move on Schiano’s part. Sure it’s technically legal. The point is, the Bucs went for the knees. Heck, you even see the Giants Oline instinctively jerk up. Stop the Giants like men and own up to it when you can’t, then come back better next time.
Fans do have the power to demand better. It pisses me off more than anything that Schiano has put the fans and his players in a position where they have to defend bull crap like this. How you gonna compete and beat the best when you can’t even hold your head up high?
September 23rd, 2012 at 11:29 am
Man, Ronde is definitely embarrassed by what happened and so am I. This isn’t the way I want my team represented to the rest of the NFL.
September 23rd, 2012 at 12:42 pm
wow, idiocracy spreads. we used to have 1 or 2 trolls, now all these rejects from, where pewter reporter?, get on here. lol
useless posters. internet toughguys calling schiano out. lmao
September 23rd, 2012 at 12:43 pm
Just to recap for you Tampa fans: your team got smoked in the process of giving up a double digit lead and then your punk first year coach tried to salvage his pride with a cheap shot on the team that just beat him. If you had a quarterback worth a cheap shot then you might understand. But the fact is, opposing defenses would rather your lame first string qb stay on the field because sooner or later hello give the ball away and lose the game. Bucs sux

oh, so pft sends us htese morons, great.
there goes the neighborhood.
September 23rd, 2012 at 1:26 pm
Whats Schiano think – that his players would never get injured? He obviously does not value the health of his own players if hes gonna be a “worked at Rutgers” hot shot rookie coach. We’ll see how it plays out, but hes got a lot to back up. His players better play for him or he’s gonna look pretty stupid.
September 23rd, 2012 at 9:00 pm
If Schiano has his team play every play 100% then how come at the half when the Giants knelt the ball he did not have them try and get the ball/dive at the Olineman’s knee’s? If he plays every play 100% why did he let the Giants score at the end there rather then believe in your defense to possibly strip the ball from the RB?
September 27th, 2012 at 7:18 am
i really wonder if the shoe was on the other foot how bucs fans would react.
Great thinking, what do you think the other nfl teams will do knowing you are going to go after the ball when time is expiring. na , no chance anyone will get hurt.
