Schiano’s First Move: Study Penalties & Fumbles
July 29th, 2012Mossis Madu fumbled (likely after a whistle) on the sweltering fields of One Buc Palace today. Jeremy Trueblood also was flagged for a false start. Anthony Gaitor was flagged covering Tiquan Underwood about eight yards off the line of scrimmage. Dan Orlovsky dropped a snap.
Analyzing “penalties and ball security” issues is Greg Schiano’s personal priority following practice, so the leader of the New Schiano Order told the media Sunday.
Schiano delegates plenty to his assistants, but the message was that his focus is on how giveaways and mistakes occur.
Details!
As Joe wrote earlier, Trueblood was yanked immediately from the first-team line for a few plays and had to run with the second team after his penalty. It was classic Schiano.

When will coach make the GM sit with the second string?

True Blood still getting them false start penalties. Thet man is funny. I like him, he’s so ready to go. He really needs to cut back on those False starts though. There’s no reason to hurt ourselves even more.

Love that for any players. Set the bar high, apparently what Schiano is doing.

.
I can’t recall the last time the Bucs had a RT that didn’t get a lot of penalties.

Maybe he should send Trueblood to bed without his supper, Tom Coughlin used to do that in training camp.

First contact of the year. Things will get better. D-Line needs to improve along with Free’s accuracy. Blount caught some nice passes out of the backfield but missed a block, Martin fumbled but looked quick on cuts. Competition should heat up across the field.

I hope Schiano leaves Trueblood with second team.
