Mark Barron Reportedly Inks Contract

Leave it to the long NFL tentacles of the creator, curator and overall guru of ProFootballTalk.com, Mike Florio, to learn of Bucs first round draft pick Mark Barron agreeing to terms with the Bucs.
NFL Network also is confirming Florio’s report.
Per a league source with knowledge of the situation, the Buccaneers and Barron have agreed to terms.
The fully-guaranteed, four-year contract includes a signing bonus of $8.961 million and base salaries of $390,000 in 2012, $1.047 million in 2013, $1.705 million in 2014, and $2.362 million in 2014.
Obviously this is good news for Bucs fans and first-year coach Greg Schiano that everyone is in the fold and everyone shy of Da’Quan Bowers will be at training camp.
Now Mark, stay away from the long Popeye arms of Brian Price and all should be good!

Great news! Cant wait for training camp! Odd they gave him so much up front but that is great for the salary cap next few years.

I’d just like to point out that I called this yesterday, after the Luck deal was completed. And I’d like to give props to BigMac for getting the #s pretty much right on the nose.
Now Barron can get in here and get started on helping to bring this defense back to respectability. As far as I’m concerned, football season is never over so I’m really looking forward to seeing some training camp reports. I’m excited to see whats in store for this year.

This kid is an excellent player in terms of athleticism and toughness. He will, relatively quickly, improve our D.
This kid is a Schiano player.
I have been hearing that without a big preseason, Quincy Jane, huge DomDom contract and all might be in trouble. The rumor I hear is that Foster and Goode will battle for MLB. If there is not much difference, Schiano and Sheridan/Davis will slide Foster over to Sam which makes Quincy disposable.
If Foster proves much better than Goode at MLB, Quincy will be safe.
Yes this is tough to swallow but not devastating financially.

Thomas, im starting to enjoy your post now that I don’t see constant name calling and bashing, thanks for that it truly makes bucs talk enjoyable… I hope good proves to be a good MLB I would love foster at strong side.

There was a lot to be frustrated about from 09-11. Much of that has been weeded out.
Contrary to popular belief, I am not negative simply to be negative. I am just unable to be positive at 17-31 and no playoffs; and if a 60 mil #3overall plays like a late round draft pick – I will say so.
This is what is great about Gator fans, its what makes Gator nation. Passion – both ways. Love the stars like Tebow and Spurrier, but blast the disappointments like Zook, Brantley and Muschamp (so far).

I have a strong belief that the offense, defense and coaching staff will take the NFL by storm this year. I haven’t felt this good about the team in many years. Man!!! It just feels right and remember later in the year I called it as such.

Amazing to see how much less the rookie deals are now vs. ’09 when McCoy robbed the Bucs blind ( don’t get me wrong…I would have gladly “stolen” it too.)

Hawaii- Bums!!! Both Barron and Dominik for not agreeing to terms in time. That being said, it’s over and hopefully this kid is all that he has been made out to be. This embarrassment of a defense since Kiffen announced his exit has been hard for all of us. Go Bucs!!

Yep Dallas Buc, his season is lost because he missed the first two days of rookies reporting to training camp. I wonder if he will be able to ever catch up? There’s always next year I guess.

This is great news. But please don’t feed us the same garbage we have heard before. Seems everytime this happens somehow someone says We are putting the team in the hands of ie:” Freeman” or “McCoy”. Just tell us the team is in the hands of the new coaching staff and not “Barron” etc..
