“The Kind Of Men We Want In Our Program”

June 28th, 2012

Greg Schiano wants what he calls Buccaneer Men.

In fact, he won’t tolerate men who aren’t Buccaneer Men, guys who exemplify caring, work ethic and accountability.

So it stands out that Aqib Talib got a powerful endorsement from the leader of the New Schiano Order, which can be seen in this new video on the Bucs’ official website. “That’s the kind of men we want in our program,” so Schiano said of Talib’s activity in the community alongside Schiano during the players’ vacation Tuesday.

Scroll down the page to see more about where this video was shot. Joe touched on this hours ago, but now the video drives it home.

Talib and Schiano. Who saw that marriage coming five months ago?

This is getting creepy. Next thing you know they’ll be singing in a church choir together. Talib really seems to have lost his gangsta edge in teh video

  2. SilenceTheCritics Says:

    Cue the moronic Talib bashers….

  3. Andrewbucsfan Says:

In my opinion if all of this discipline and detail schiano brings transfers onto the field Talib could be in for a career year on his contract year. Less getting burned deep, solid tackling, And we all know he’s a ball hawk even without qb pressure.

  4. Paul W. Says:

This is what Talib needs to do to improve his stock in the nfl.

  5. jfgobucs Says:

How can you not like that…If you are a “BUC” fan…

  6. JSmalls Says:

    Father figures FTMFW

  7. Knucknbuc Says:

Where’s all the haters at now? It looks like Talib was a no good good for nothing bum/thug/criminal that should never be allowed on the filed again much less society. Hmmmm….

  8. Drew Says:

    @Joe,

Thank You for silencing critics like Thomas 2.2. Thomas is at his best when he publishes nothing.

  9. Miguel Grande Says:

I hate the smell of hubris and hypocrisy in the morning. Some schlock PR guy comes up with unbelievable scenario where Aqib Talib repairs his tarnished image with one master stroke and you guys completely buy into it, hook, line and sinker.

I like Talib, didn’t like him as a #1 draft pick. He’s good, not great. I don’t care if he punches a cab driver, chases a child molester down the street or gets into a fight on the practice field. I think, I may have done worse and I am a wonderful human being.

Let’s just not go overboard with the rehabilitation of Talib, when you gush over this fallen angel, you sound freaking stupid!

  10. Vic Says:

Miguel, if PR people had any pull with Talib he wouldn’t have any of his history. There’s no spin going on. Talib is changed — for now — until he slips up again. No different than a rehabbed addict while he’s clean.

  11. Hawaiian Buc Says:

If Thomas 2.2 and Mike Tyson had a child together, the end result would be Miguel Grande.

  12. tommy Says:

lets just see what happins!!! till then shut up haters!!!! your run is lame!!!

  13. Dave W. Says:

You can be certain that anyone who says ‘ I am a wonderful human being’ is the furthest thing from it.

  14. Paul Says:

Talib seems to be buying in. Might’ve taken a brush with the law, but I’m excited to what he looks like out there this year with new focus.

  15. OAR Says:

I hate the smell of Jockstrap Grande in the morning!

  16. BigMacAttack Says:

I don’t want to bash Talib, but it takes a lot longer than this to laser away a Leopard’s spots. If Schiano had told Talib “Let’s go to a strip club”, he’d have been right there as well, sniffing it up.

Let’s not anoint Talib as a Saint just yet…… unless we can get a first round pick for him.

  17. bucfever40 Says:

Hey I was not a big fan of Talib’s by no means, but I would’ve NEVER thought ANYBODY could change this guy at any level, if anything I would think it would be like a preacher from his neighborhood or something, but coach Schiano? That to me is extremely impressive how coach has been able to penetrate that hard head of his, and have him buy into his no-nonsense style. Folks, this could not have turned out any better, I certainly will give Talib some slack here and see if he can sustain this image, but to me, the big story is how this coach has been able to touch his players the way he has, go coach Schiano!!!

  18. OAR Says:

I’m not anoiting the man a saint by any means, but I guess there’s nothing better than a positive story about a troubled man, trying to get past that and becoming something better, getting lambasted as a negative, heh?
