Shocking: Dunsmore Has Good Fundamentals

The theme for the first draft in the New Schiano Order for the Bucs seems to be discipline, guys who do the little things right.
That seems to be the case for Northwestern tight end Drake Dunsmore, who the Bucs chose with their final seventh-round draft selection tonight.
Reading a breakdown of Dunsmore on CBSSports.com, it seems he runs good routes and is more of a receiver than a blocker.
Given he’s a Northwestern guy, don’t expect Dunsmore to make too many stupid mistakes.
Also, throw in that his father, Pat Dunsmore, played two years at tight end for the Chicago Bears in 1983 and 1984.

lol i think it’s pretty funny how after the humiliating performance by the Raheem led Bucs last year, “good fundamentals” is something we have to be excited about!

Time for the 2nd draft…. bring on undrafted rookie free agents. There are still players out there with some skill. Passed over for character issues or some other reason. With just 14 picks left in the 7th round, guys like Chris Polk, RB, Wash and Chase Minnifield, CB, Virginia are still out there. Let’s go get us a few guys to push these draft picks….

Is this guy a FB or a TE or a HB. Or yes? Odds are he’s a training camp body, but I look forward to seeing if this guy can make the team somehow.

Espn just showed some really good highlights, good hands, track and basketball background, could be areal steal if he shows willingness to play special teams

He’s a pass catching tight end. Not a blocking one…and not a natural fullback either.
I’m actually surprised they did not draft a true fullback…hopefully one will come up in Free Agency now.

Drake did not register for the draft as a TE. He is listed as a FB. I don’t know what the Bucs plans are for Dunsmore, but when his name came up as the Bucs pick, it came up as FB.

I remembered him as a TE. I hope Stocker arrives this year and this could shows enough to be a backup – so we can cut that sorry, overrated, overpaid, no-practicing, complaining, pass interfering TE that we are stuck with”the soldier.”

With the exception of Lavonte David and Doug Martin, bucsbdraftpicks came from the competition of our college coach staff, Schiano (Big East), Cooper (SEC) and Wisconsin o-line coach (BIG 12). I believe Barron was recruited by LSU so Cooper likely had even more familiarity with him.

I hate this pick!!! Somehow the Safety from South Carolina Antonio Allen was there and we passed on him??? He had a late 2nd early 3rd round grade and went after us in the 7th. That was the only real move I didn’t like. Which is the 1st time I have been able to say that in many many drafts!! But we need another Safety, and I personally was really high on this kid and figured we would get him with one of our 7ths for sure. Makes no sense to me!!
I wanted our 2 7th rounders to be Allen and Burfict. He would’ve been a great pick that late in the draft! I know Burfict has a ton of off-field and onfield issues. But he also has a lot of talent that the right coach could use him up. He is gonna be a UFA, so Dom do your magic and get him. If he doesn’t work then oh well we tried. Thats why I wanted him with our 2nd 7th round pick. But I would love to see us give him a shot.
I also thought Tank Carder would’ve been a great pick in the 5th. I don’t know anything about the ILB we drafted. But I hope he is good enough to make the roster and play for us as well. But I do know Tank has the potential to be a solid starter in this league!

No to Burfict. There’s a reason a 1st or 2nd round talent goes undrafted. You can’t fix stupid. He may have had a chance to get drafted if not for a lousy combine. I liked Tank Carder but he’s undersized and lacks speed.
