Bills Looking To Deal
April 26th, 2012At 64 years old following a distinguished career as a general manager, Charlie Casserly is not a guy Joe suspects would concoct trade rumors or fall for agent-driven, team-driven BS the day before the NFL Draft.
Therefore, Joe brings you Casserly’s Twittering yesterday that claims the Buffalo Bills are looking to trade up from their No. 10 pick to get in position to draft offensive tackle Matt Kalil.
@CharleyCasserly – Buuffalo I am told would like to trade up to take Matt Kalil and will give up a second rd draft choice to do it.
Buffalo’s second-round pick is No. 41 overall. If the Bucs found themselves in this position, with Kalil still on the board, it would be an intriguing deal indeed. In this scenario, the Bucs likely could still snag Luke Kuechly with the 10th overall pick, and two quality second-round picks to bolster their secondary and/or snag running back Doug Martin.

Waiting til 8 is just gonna frickin kill me today.
April 26th, 2012 at 10:08 am
Kalil will go 3rd to Minn

I am starting to rout for Mo C and T Rich to get selected before us. I would like to see us at 10 grab Luke K or Gilmore. I think we need to get the Bills 2 and 4 though. Thi will get us a pick in every round again. More fire power to get a RB and and LB or CB (which ever is not our first round pick). Ideal situation.
April 26th, 2012 at 10:12 am
I say a 2nd this year and a first for next year to trade to the 10 spot
April 26th, 2012 at 10:14 am
I would do it if Richardson was not there. Right away.
But passing on Richardson would be a mistake the Bucs might come to regret, that huge a talent IMO.
But getting another 2 and only dropping to 10? NOW! In a heartbeat if Richardson is gone, which in all likelihood he will be.
NFL CHRISTMAS DAY IS HERE!!!!
April 26th, 2012 at 10:18 am
@ Garv – the only way T Rich is there is of the Vikes draft Claiborne and Cleveland drafts Blackman. Not sure it’s going to happen that way. And if T Rich is there then there’s a good chance Kahlil is not. If they are both there then I would def trade out. Pit the Bills and Jets against each other. It’s never gonna happen but if it did then our Pirates booty would be tremendous.
April 26th, 2012 at 10:19 am
If this possibility presents itself with Kalil available at the 5th overall pick, the Bucs HAVE TO make it happen. They just have too many needs to pass up on the possibility of acquiring another 2nd round pick. I think this would be a bad deal for the Bills, but if they’re willing to do it, I think the Bucs should absolutely pull the trigger!
April 26th, 2012 at 10:30 am
The latest buzz the has the Bucs talking with Vikes to trade up to 3 to get T.Richardson.
Hoping that this is a Smoke signal by to rustle up some interest in the pick so that somebody gets moving to make the trade. Hopefully somebody other than the Bucs
April 26th, 2012 at 10:33 am
Luke Kuechly in the first Doug Martin in the second and they would still have another second to play with and that I would use on J.Jenkins CB first round talent that fell to the second round, some caracter issues yes I know but what do you have to loose.
April 26th, 2012 at 10:36 am
Buc Neckid .. Im pretty sure the Bucs are a trade up target every season it seems. The biggest nightmare was talk of Bucs trading to #1 for Alex Smith.
April 26th, 2012 at 10:38 am
Doug Martin is good but he is too slow.
Wilson is the guy. That kid is talented and I think we could get him in the 3rd because of his fumble problems which can be corrected.
April 26th, 2012 at 10:40 am
I would be very happy if the Bucs traded down as long as Kuechly is still on the board at 10
April 26th, 2012 at 10:59 am
Doug Martin is too slow ?? HAHA … thats funny
You should be a draft analyst
April 26th, 2012 at 11:00 am
If Minn Blows it we should jump on this….Extra 2
With the 10th Pick Tampa selects Kuechly or Barron..I would happy with either
April 26th, 2012 at 11:06 am
How about the Rams trading Steven Jackson to move up to 5 and taking Richardson , Bucs get Jackson and then take Claiborne at 6 . Any chance ?
April 26th, 2012 at 11:07 am
David Wilson puts the ball on the turf too often, and durability questions come into play.
Let’s just trade up and take Richardson. Potential for 1800 yds on the ground, bringing versatility to the Play Action, and it would be the ultimate compliment to Freeman.
Freeman needs and deserves a 1st round pick at a skill position.
Plus, TR had 1 fumble in college, shared the spotlight with another heisman RB.
What is not to like about this guy?
He would an awesome addition to the team, and would change the way the NFC South has to play us. We could just run right over them and destroy what will they have to tackle.
April 26th, 2012 at 11:08 am
holymoly,
3-4 years ago this would be a good deal.
Steven Jackson is a good RB, but on the way down. Playing on turf and taking that kind of a pounding adds up quicker.
It would be of greater value to stay at #5, take Trent Richardson and then the best CB/LB/S available in the next 3 rounds.
April 26th, 2012 at 11:15 am
LETS GET IT ON !!COME ON MAN LETS START THE FRICKEN DRAFT NOW ! i want TR OR MOMO OR BARRON OR KUECHLY…LETS DO IT !
April 26th, 2012 at 11:17 am
I am sure some saw the intervw with Dom. He said it is rare you know the first 2 picks. So know you must know when to move up or move back.
Now let more guessing games begin.
April 26th, 2012 at 11:18 am
I agree….I think the best case scenario is for Kalil to slide to us. I think it would be more then just Buffalo calling to make a deal for a LT.
Barron, Kuehly, Gilmore….all those guys are the best are their position..some people even have Gilmore rated as high as Claiborne.
Only a few more hours!

A possible scenario is Tampa trades a 3rd round pick to Minnesota to move up to #3. Then they trade with Buffalo picking up a 2nd round pick and move down to #10.
In this scenario Tampa, Buffalo and Minnesota draft who they want.
April 26th, 2012 at 11:39 am
kueckly will go to carolina in that scenario, at 9
April 26th, 2012 at 11:42 am
That extra 2nd could get you a Derrick Brooks. Trade back and don’t think twice. This team has many, many holes, and little depth.
April 26th, 2012 at 11:44 am
Kalil will go to the Vikings. Even if we drop back to 10, I think the Panthers take Kuechly at 9.
April 26th, 2012 at 11:51 am
Richardson had like 5 or 6 career fumbles … He only lost …
The best fumbles per carry back in the Draft is actually Chris Polk.
April 26th, 2012 at 11:57 am
That would be a dream come true. Kuechly and another 2nd is the best thing that could happen IMO. And jumping from 10 to 5 for a 2nd is probably considered cheap, but I would still do it in a heartbeat
April 26th, 2012 at 1:04 pm
Now this is a scenario i like. We have sooooo many holes to fill, getting extra picks in the early rounds would truly help. I realize i’m in the minority here, but to me it just makes too much sense.
April 26th, 2012 at 5:17 pm
If mo is not available I say do it!!
April 26th, 2012 at 7:20 pm
Trading up is idiotic for a team with this many holes to fill. Stocking up on picks is what we should be doing.
