Carl Nicks Coming To Tampa… For A Visit
March 13th, 2012UPDATE 6:22 p.m: Joe has reached out to a trusted source and there is no timetable available on Nicks’ visit. Could be tomorrow. Could be later in the week.
It seems the Bucs have won a small, early victory in the Battle of Carl Nicks.
The former Saints All-Pro guard will visit One Buc Palace, per Stephen Holder of the Tampa Bay Times, via Twitter.
@HolderStephen: Confirmed: Carl Nicks has scheduled a visit to Tampa Bay. Bucs definitely in the thick of it.
Now that we know Nicks will arrive at One Buc Palace, Dominik and his henchmen need to do one thing and one thing only: he does not leave without his John Hancock on a contract.
March 13th, 2012 at 6:06 pm
“Dominik and his henchmen need to do one thing and one thing only: He does not leave without his John Hancock on a contract.”
LOL!
March 13th, 2012 at 6:06 pm
When he see’s the setup here…he’ll sign.
Next!
March 13th, 2012 at 6:07 pm
Damn you, ellipsis!
March 13th, 2012 at 6:08 pm
need to get a contract actually SIGNED !!
March 13th, 2012 at 6:08 pm
Give him the nudie bar tour, with a fistfull of ones. But only on the nightshift. Those dayshift girls – wow.
March 13th, 2012 at 6:10 pm
Redskins sign 3 WR’s today…garçon, Morgan, and royal.
March 13th, 2012 at 6:12 pm
@tonytwocents
Would you stop with that crap? Players going to bars is NOT what we need in Tampa!
March 13th, 2012 at 6:13 pm
@Tonytwocents….is soo cool.
Is the Nicks visit…..THE 1ST VISIT HE HAS, otherwise, who cares?!?!?…..
March 13th, 2012 at 6:13 pm
Wow, and did Goodell really punish them? Bunch of psychos that run that organization
March 13th, 2012 at 6:13 pm
pete needs to go to a nudie bar.
March 13th, 2012 at 6:14 pm
How are the Redskins making all these moves without the Cap space???
March 13th, 2012 at 6:15 pm
WHEN does he visit? Very important detail…first, after another visit?
March 13th, 2012 at 6:17 pm
LOL. Why does that matter?
March 13th, 2012 at 6:19 pm
well the first mention of Nicks visiting someone was with the bucs, so I would hope we’re first.
but even if we’re not, he’ll eventually land at TIA, and I have faith Dom will get it done.
March 13th, 2012 at 6:20 pm
@admin
Because every team he visits before the Bucs has a chance of convincing him to sign before he gets here.
March 13th, 2012 at 6:20 pm
Redskins continue to make themselves look like fools… Lol what a joke of an organiztion.
March 13th, 2012 at 6:22 pm
Mario Williams has already landed in Buffalo…scheduled for visit later tonight there. That was fast!
March 13th, 2012 at 6:23 pm
Adam Caplan : “More teams in the mix for John Carlson from what I’m hearing: Chiefs, Bears, Bucs, Colts, Cowboys, Seahawks.”
I hope not.
March 13th, 2012 at 6:26 pm
I doubt a player would sign a contract without listening to all suitors. That is how they find out where they want to go i.e. process of elimination.
March 13th, 2012 at 6:31 pm
Let’s go Bucs!!! But don’t let Carr walk please.
March 13th, 2012 at 6:33 pm
according to jeff duncan of new orleans time bicayune the bucs have signed v jax. dont know exactly how reliable this is but its the first report ive heard that theyve actually signed him

March 13th, 2012 at 6:34 pm
we have the best nudie bars!
March 13th, 2012 at 6:35 pm
I have a question…was Bo Jackson’s real name “Vincent” Jackson?
If so…we finally got him! 😉
March 13th, 2012 at 6:36 pm
@ pete dutcher: awesome! lol
ive also heard that eagles are out of the carl nicks negotiations
March 13th, 2012 at 6:38 pm
@Pete Dutcher
If that’s the case then we’ll be signing someone who’s almost 50 🙂
March 13th, 2012 at 6:38 pm
@HaveA Nice Day,
People sign, where people PAY them….facilities, are widely known, pay me. Cuba-Gooding-Jr style…..so that’s what touring Free Agents do. Wouldn’t you, especially if wife or family, involved??…
March 13th, 2012 at 6:38 pm
Holy Sh*t! Sileo is a moron. Who says that? You can’t talk your way out of that one. There is no context where what he said was anywhere near acceptable. Sorry if that’s personal Joe, but that is the way I feel. He is an idiot.
March 13th, 2012 at 6:44 pm
@bucbelevr I completely agree with you. Just trying to squash the notion that a team would sign with the first team they visit without knowing what the other teams will offer.
March 13th, 2012 at 6:44 pm
is there a link to hear what he said?
March 13th, 2012 at 6:44 pm

March 13th, 2012 at 6:45 pm
*that a PLAYER would sign with the first…..*
March 13th, 2012 at 6:51 pm
Cut Faine, open the vault, put cash in the big man’s hand. Do it.
March 13th, 2012 at 6:52 pm
Redskins sign Pierre Garcon, Josh Morgan, and Eddie Royal. Not bad, but I like Vincent Jackson, Mike Williams, and Arrelious Benn.
March 13th, 2012 at 6:52 pm
@patrick: already poste it bud
March 13th, 2012 at 6:57 pm
Oh my……What do we KNOW?!?! Otherwise, off….the site. Is Nicks visting Bucs first?. Is VJax actually SIGNED?? Agents, people. Informants, people. I dont’ run a website, based on breaking info, it _ _ _ _ sure wouldn’t be leaving us hanging like this. A couple days, a year, these sites, TRULY, matter……………AGENTS, LEAGUE OFFICE PAID CONTACTS. Maybe, Schefter, Florio, last Mortensen.
March 13th, 2012 at 6:59 pm
wonder why we haven’t heard of any CBs on our radar – except for eric wright. but he’s obviously 2nd/3rd tier. what’s the word on finny?
March 13th, 2012 at 7:00 pm
@bucbelevr are you ok ?
March 13th, 2012 at 7:01 pm
@tony
If we actually sign Jackson, Lofton, and Nicks, we won’t have any $$$ for Finnegan. Can you say:
“With the 5th pick of the draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select CB from Louisiana State University Morris Claiborne.”
March 13th, 2012 at 7:02 pm
@bucbelevr
what the f are you talking about? nothing personal, but do you have rabies?
March 13th, 2012 at 7:03 pm
Did anyone else see that the Raiders just released Kevin Boss? That’d be one more guy I would love to see on the Bucs.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:03 pm
@ J2
probably. Maybe they’re banking on Talib and Barbers return. So a 2nd tier CB plus Claiborn won’t be so bad afterall.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:04 pm
JasonLaCanfora:
Bucs could weill end up with Vincent Jackson and Carl Nicks. Would be quite the dual press conference, eh?
– – – – – – – – – – – – – — — – – — – — –
The Bucs are the ONLY TEAM Nicks is planning to visit at present.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:05 pm
Per Stephen Holder’s Twitter:
Source indicating that Carl Nicks’ visit to Tampa is only scheduled visit thus far. Sounds like Bucs will get first crack at him.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:09 pm
It’s official, FA has died down for the day. Peter King twittering “walk into a bar” jokes.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:10 pm
Bucs apparently in discussions with Mike Tolbert, but not only team talking to him.
They were not the only team with Jackson or Nicks either. They are now 😉
March 13th, 2012 at 7:11 pm
Oh, and David Carr might end up as Josh Johnson’s replacement.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:12 pm
@raphael, @Tonytwo cents….for the short bus crew.
(Thank you, So. Ill. Bucs says).
Before today, for the short bus crew………………I, if this were my website, would have had people, including Holder, Cumming, jackson’s agent, Lofton’s agent, Tulloch’s agent, Finnegan’s agent, Carr’s agent, Nicks’ agent……….ON MY EFFING SPEED DIAL. Before today.
Then, …..because, for the short bus crew, we DON’T KNOW, if Vincent Jackson is actually signed, or Carl Nicks has his FIRST VISIT here, or Lofton, is signed, NOT SIGNED, is signed, NOT signed…………………………….
THIS is why short bus crew.
Haven’t been to the nudie bars, they are great, so I hear, alot of them…..spend my money better than that. Much love…….
March 13th, 2012 at 7:12 pm
Dang, was just about to post that. That Blount/Tolbert pairing might just be a reality; fingers crossed.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:13 pm
Call the airport and rental car agencies, tell them to shut down, alert Rick Scott to close the border, Nicks does not leave Tampa!!!!!
March 13th, 2012 at 7:14 pm
Bucs and several other teams attempting to steal Eddie Royal out from under the Redskins. Unconfirmed.
Makes sense…Royal is a kick returner.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:17 pm
Defense…..
March 13th, 2012 at 7:19 pm
@buc “im drinkin” belvedere
you’re starting to make a little more sense. (maybe hire a ghostwriter)
but nothing has been confirmed yet, and Joe isnt the type of website that’ll spew out a story without credible sources, and he has said over and over and over. oh, and the nudie bars are phenomenal.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:22 pm
Bucs deferred the bonus $1.6 million from Skins/Cowgirls penalties until next year.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:32 pm
Nudie bars suck. I can see better at home. But I guess you single guys need to get your thrills somehow 😉
March 13th, 2012 at 7:35 pm
btw, I don’t know if anyone remembers this, but I made the statement recently that the Bucs would likely focus on offense in free agency for the most part because our offense is closest to completion.
I also said although they might get 1-2 defense guys, they’ll likely go draft for most defense in order to stay young.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:36 pm
🙁 Bummer… @PeteDucher…
Hopefully, yours is consistently “better at home”. Good for you.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:40 pm
Why no latest news on Lofton? It is like it went totally dead with him. Maybe they are making an offer to Carr or finegan and keeping it hush hush. Why Friday visit for Finegan to Rams versus tonight or tomorrow?
March 13th, 2012 at 7:40 pm
@ J 2.0 We won’t be saying MO Claiborne’s name if his name is mentioned already with the 4th pick. Most people have CLE taking MO and why wouldn’t they? I hope he’s there for the taking but if we land one of the CB’s available, V-Jax is really a done deal, and we land Nicks then Trent has to be the guy. Period.
When Nicks plane lands, I am more than willing to take off work and join Tonytwocents in showing Mr. Nicks the lovely Mons Venus. Followed by a trip to South Tampa, Channelside and back to Mons.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:41 pm
With all due respect Pete, I’m aware of your religious background, so I’ll stop bringing up the best nudie bars this side of Vegas and all of their well proportioned patrons who will make personal and private arrangements for a few dollars more – but for a hell of a lot of less money that a married man gives up daily keep his holy matrimony afloat. So I’ll stop bringing up nudie bars. Sorry
March 13th, 2012 at 7:42 pm
@bucbelevr I just hope you have a designated driver…
March 13th, 2012 at 7:43 pm
lol, employees, not patrons. but I take that back, I have seen some well proportioned patrons.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:44 pm
well we are the nudie bar capital of the USA….just sayin !
March 13th, 2012 at 7:45 pm
thank you cmurda. I’ll see you there. how’s p doing?
March 13th, 2012 at 7:45 pm
Pretty deep…there. @Tonytwocents……… 🙂
From a man who’s been married, one could argue that point, one way or the other…
March 13th, 2012 at 7:48 pm
to each his own bucbelevr.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:48 pm
@tonytwocents
It’s not the nudie part…although I have and will never go to such a place. It’s the bar thing, which several of the Bucs have had problems in. That’s why I don’t think it’s wise to use as a selling point.
Not very “Buccaneer Way” to me. You didn’t offend me though, lol.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:48 pm
Peace out, people.
People, satisfied with little-to-no-results. No results, on a day of “knowing” that matters.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:49 pm
have “not” I meant.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:49 pm
@ cmurda
If Cleveland take Claiborne someone is going to want to jump and take Tannenhill, maybe, that’s where we could look to trade down. If this Lofton deal doesn’t work out then Kuechly would be available.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:51 pm
@bucbelevr
Get a cab, don’t drive drunk, lol.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:54 pm
The Lofton thing is no longer happening.
OL Evan Mathis is their next target…along with David Carr and Mike Tolbert.
March 13th, 2012 at 7:57 pm
go get em GO BUCS!!!!!!!!
March 13th, 2012 at 8:07 pm
So Robert Meachem just arrived in Buffalo, hopefully he finds something to make him stay; every piece that New Orleans loses is a little victory for the Bucs.
March 13th, 2012 at 8:21 pm
Rumors that the bucs tried to trade Kellen Winslow to the bears.
March 13th, 2012 at 8:23 pm
Adam Schefter: Vincent Jackson agreed to five-year deal in Tampa with Bucs.
March 13th, 2012 at 8:24 pm
5year deal for VJ!
March 13th, 2012 at 8:25 pm
Vincent Jackson deal in Tampa: 5 yrs, $55.55 million, including $26 million guaranteed, $36 million in 1st 3 yrs, $26 million in 1st 2 yr
From Shefter.
March 13th, 2012 at 8:55 pm
ClayBURN,
Don’t tease me like that. Get what you can for him. He never approached that highest TE salary in history deal.
Boss? Bennett? Carlson? Tamme?
