Your 2012 Bucs Coaching Staff
March 6th, 2012Bucs fans can finally quit their hand-wringing (remember the dark days when it appeared Mike Sherman might be the Bucs coach!?), put away their bottle of Absolute and take a deep breath.
The team finally has its full coaching staff set.
Below, courtesy of the Bucs media relations staff, is the entire staff led by new Bucs coach Greg Schiano.
Head coach
Greg Schiano.
Offensive staff
Mike Sullivan, Coordinator
Brian Angelichio, Tight Ends
Bob Bostad, Offensive Line
Earnest Byner, Running Backs
P.J. Fleck, Wide Receivers
Steve Loney, Assistant Offensive Line
Ben McDaniels, Offensive Assistant
Ron Turner, Quarterbacks
Defensive staff
Bill Sheridan, Coordinator
Ron Cooper, Defensive Backs
Bryan Cox, Front Seven
Bob Fraser, Linebackers
Jeff Hafley, Assistant Defensive Backs
Tem Lukabu, Defensive Quality Control
Randy Melvin, Defensive Line
And now, the Bucs and Schiano’s staff can concentrate on what Bucs players should retain their positions, what players should be jettisoned, what players should be allowed to walk away, and what players to sign from the free agent list.
Oh, and Joe hopes the staff can start worrying about the upcoming draft as well.

joe you forgot the coordinators and special teams coaches
March 6th, 2012 at 2:10 pm
NO OC OR DC LISTED, OR WAS IT JUST A OVERSITE
March 6th, 2012 at 2:11 pm
I’m sure they’ve been thinking about the draft and FA during the process. It will be interesting to see how it goes during FA because that will certainly affect what they do with #5 on draft day.

Bobby:
Good catch. This was the full list e-mailed to Joe. Will add the coordinators.

dr. buc:
Joe didn’t forget the coordinators, the Bucs media relations staff did!
March 6th, 2012 at 2:27 pm
And Butch Davis should be on this list somewhere
March 6th, 2012 at 2:29 pm
He’s not a coach. Technically.
March 6th, 2012 at 2:34 pm
Sure looks a whole bunch better than the last group.
March 6th, 2012 at 2:44 pm
I am happy with the staff that Schiano put together…now lets see what they can do.
March 6th, 2012 at 2:50 pm
Solid staff. Far from ideal but still much better than I expected given how late we are in the process and Schiano’s lack of NFL connections.
March 6th, 2012 at 2:50 pm
The announcement was just the offensive staff (and did include the coordinator):

Coordinator-Gate 2012
March 6th, 2012 at 2:57 pm
@dr. buc
LOL!
March 6th, 2012 at 3:27 pm
Did they mention who the Strengh & Conditioning coach is? Last year this was a huge problem! This team gave up mentally because they were getting thrown around like a bunch of rag dolls. Physically; I swear this team looked like college kids instead of professional NFL athletes. The only bulk I saw last year was from their bulging A$$’s!
March 6th, 2012 at 3:32 pm
hmmnn I thought Sullivan and Sheridan were the coordinators ? but no special teams coach is interesting.hopefully they know they are missing one..? DOH!
March 6th, 2012 at 3:42 pm
The strength and conditioning coach is from Rutgers if I remember correctly. He was the strength and conditioning coach there. Seemed to do a good job having the kids NFL strong.

😉
The Tampa Bay Rutcaneers…….
March 6th, 2012 at 3:55 pm
I’m just disappointed that any message board posters are not included on the staff. After all, who better qualified?
But seriously folks, it’s complete and time to get started on putting the 2012 team together. LOVE the NFL “off-season.”
March 6th, 2012 at 4:05 pm
I cant believe we landed Tem Lukabu.
Now we can promote him to head coach in three years and all pretend its legit.
March 6th, 2012 at 4:20 pm
All we know about this staff is that 9 of the have first names that start with an ‘R’ or a ‘B’.
March 6th, 2012 at 5:11 pm
Sorry if I missed it but do we have a special teams coordinator?
March 6th, 2012 at 5:29 pm
What’s really amazing, is that almost everyone of them was a Holder( Fulltime!) at one point or other
With Fleck, Lukabu, and a championship kicking team- the sky is the limit.
I foresee dozens of top Free agents running here to sign up!
It will be just like being in college- except ya got Fleck, Lukabu, and Angelchios!!
Man- happy days are here again!

I am impressed at how good a staff Schiano has put together here in Tampa, all things considered.
One poster commented on our Strength Coach, and I agree.
Much of last year, Tampa looked like boys playing Men.
March 6th, 2012 at 7:16 pm
Didn’t thet hire the special teams coach from Oakland. Bob Ligashesky?
March 6th, 2012 at 7:52 pm
It’s easy to be impressed with this staff. None of them have done anything yet, other than coach speak at a press conference!
It’s gonna be a hard sell to get FAs here. A small school coach, ton of inexperienced college coaches. And the NFL guys either are printed to a new job, or didn’t last long at that job the last time they did!
But hopefully we can get some new talent in here. Shiano, like Raheem, deserves one thing- a fair chance!
If management doesn’t abandon their cheap ways, and get him some NFL caliber players, we’ll never know if Schiano is a good coach or not.
And we deserve to know. Hopefully we see a change from the last eight years
But with no enforced floor for the salary cap- I remain skeptical
And while I like some of the hires a lot, I am in no way comfortable turning our young recievers over to a coach as inexperienced as Fleck!
Go to Wiliklopedia, look him up. May be a great guy- but absolutely not qualified to coach our Young WRs
March 6th, 2012 at 8:22 pm
Fleck has equivalent credentials to RahRah Morris. However, he is the wr coach, ok, not the freaking head coach. no team ever failed solely bc they had a green wr coach.
For the last 3 years we had the biggest joke of a head coach and staff in the NFL that anyone can remember. That is why respected men like Biasaccia headed for the hills and ridiculed RahRah on the way out – guess Biasaccia knew what was in store for us in 2012.
Schiano, Butch Davis, Ron Turner, Sullivan, Sheridan, Byner – loads of experience with proven winners.
Any one of these men would have been superior head coaching candidates to the incompetent RahRah.
You will not see the Lack of discipline, lack of respect and unprofessionalism that defined RahRah and his staff be tolerated for a second by this staff.

Thomas- what I bet “small school Shiano” doesn’t show me, is the 4th best record in Buc history! That sweet 10-6 that yer best friend Raheem stamped in the record books!!
Did you Know that only 4 coaches in Buc history ever accomplished that!!
And did you realize that- out of a 37 year history, only 7 times has a coach approached that level of greatness!! Dungy 3 times, Gruden 2 times, and Raheem and John MacKay once each!!
MacKay is in the” Ring of Honor” – you don’t think that, maybe Raheem is going in do ya- tommy? I mean- 4th best record of all time!! You could sure make a case for it!!
Hopefully, if he does- it’ll be the year before McCoy gets there! It’d be the perfect additions, Thomas- don’t ya think
4th best season ever . . Man! I wonder if Shiano and the Rutgerettes can match that kinda lofty deed??
I doubt it- lol!
March 6th, 2012 at 11:03 pm
Schiano has loads of experience?? Where?? We ate playing the Packers, the Giants, the Saints, tommy boy- not Princeton, army and Duke!!
Sullivan hasn’t been a OC. Sheridan sucked and got fired after one year as a DC! After turning the Giants D into a turnstile!
The rest are pretty much college coaches- with squat for experience!
The Flecks, the Angelchinos, and the Lukabu( which, by the way, is a dance in Fiji- known for causing terrible back sprains!)
Yeah- either NFL greenhorns- or GreenHorns at their new position
No wonder Butch Davis didn’t want to be listed as a coach!!
There is a better chance of me becoming a Fijian “Lukabu” dance champion, than there is of these guys beating Raheem’s record!!
And I quit doing “the Lukabu” after my last bout with being in Traction- terrible damn dance! Ought to be outlawed!
March 6th, 2012 at 11:22 pm
Not sure if anyone else noticed, but there’s a lot of diversification in this coaching staff. Most of the Coaches have coached other positions in addition to the position they were hired to coach. There’s a lot of experience in this staff. This should be very interesting and I have a very good feeling about what’s coming this year.

Can the Bucs please get Payton Manning?
