Lomas Brown really loses a ton of credibility in this video. Like many BSPN’ers, he has no idea what he is talking about.
– what is a “professionist?”
– is Schiano not a father figure? he has been by all accounts by anyone who has coached or known the man. Joe’s article the other day about the paralyzed player illustrated that perfectly.
– “tried to talk to” sherman and chudzinski? If confirmed brought one guy back for a second interview, and confirmed interviewed once the other guy, i’d say that’s more than “trying”
Skip Bayless tries his darndest not to be wrong, when he doesn’t have Tebow or Tony Romo to talk about. Its probably both a blessing and a curse that he is on board with the Schiano hire. I like his insight he mentioned as a beat reporter in Chicago that coaches back then recognized Schiano’s potential.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw this. Lomas Brown has NO clue what he is talking about. He keeps saying “that’s what I’m talking about” but you never said it. Bottom line is NOBODY knows what’s going to happen, this is why I don’t watch any of these shows. They have NO clue….

I am going to reserve judgement on this coach. I think 8 out of 9 college coaches have failed in the NFL? Someone correct me.
Ill give this guy a chance, i like that hes trying to bring in experienced coordinators and that shows me he is initelegent enough to understand hes going to need there help.
Time will tell…

Lomas Brown looks silly in this video man. The guy just looks like he doesn’t know what he’s talking about at all.
It’s always funny seeing ESPN talk about the Bucs, they very rarely do discuss us, and when they do it’s almost as if they’re talking about another planet, or something really foreign that they look at from way far away. I just get that feeling listening to alota the clowns on ESPN talk about us.
Skip makes good points in the video though, and it’s cool hearing his perspective while he was in Chicago. Skips always been a big Freeman fan, so that’s cool too. I don’t see how John Richy can manage to talk about the Bucs after we spanked his Raiders up and down the field in the Super Bowl. It’s gotta make him sick.

It’s all media fodder, they need to talk about something so they all focus in on the lack good Assistants being available …I believe it was yesterday that @JennaLaineBucs tweeted an “On This Day’ message noting the aniversary of the Bucs hiring of Monte Kiffin… lets hope we get stuck with another Monte Kiffin because we are ‘too late’ to get a good assistant. What those tools mean by a ‘good assistant’ is someone they’ve heard of.

Consider this: Those college coaches were over a period of years, right?
So how many “experienced” NFL guys were fired during the same period? A LOT more.
This is a point Schiano raised in his presser…I had never thought of it that way, but he is right.

I think Lomas Brown was being honest in his assessment of our Coach.
The players must believe in the coach’s ability to make them winners.
This is easier if the coach has actually won something.
It is all about charisma, if a coach lacks a track record, and I think our coach is going to be another Jim Harbaugh type.
I am excited, and we are undefeated, at this point.

As much as the hire was a shock, after awhile it settled into a feeling of comfort for some reason. Schiano has an aura (I hope the Bucs players are on board with the same vibe) but he really has an aura that makes you think & know that it’s all good and it’s going to be alright. That is the “street cred” that Lomas speaks of. Some guys have that aura (Belichek, Harbaugh(s) & the like) and some don’t (Norv Turner, Raheem) so we all as fans owe him the TIME & loyalty until he shows us otherwise. Now, the Glazers need to put their $$ where their mouth is and get some serious veteran presence in here.
And as much as Bayless annoys me mostly, it was good to hear his insight.

Okay, Lomas Brown is an idiot because he had more negative to say about the hire than positive. Got it.
I am an optimist with the Schaino hire like anyone else, but damn I never knew there were this many hardcore homers around here.

I really don’t care what ANY of these so called “experts” think about the Schiano hire.
I like it and certainly am more than willing to give the man a chance. From what I’m hearing, most fans who have followed this team for a decent amount of time do too.
Coach Schiano is driven, knows the game, relates well with his players and is the boss. So I’m supposed to care what Lomas Brown and Skip Bayless think? LOL
Really?
We all know that what REALLY matters is what Shaun King and Ian Beckles “think.”
