Returning Raheem Is “Ludicrous”
December 26th, 2011The ESPN pitchforks are sharpened and its jabs are coming hard at Raheem Morris.
Pat Yasinskas, the Disney outfit’s NFC South blogger/beat writer, says keeping Raheem under any circumstances is “ludicrous,” so he penned after the Bucs’ beating at Carolina.
I know there’s a small minority out there who say Morris should keep his job, replace himself as defensive coordinator and make a switch at offensive coordinator. Yeah, that’s brilliant and no doubt would put the Bucs straight into the Super Bowl next season. Actually, it’s ludicrous. It’s like having a refrigerator that hasn’t worked in more than two months and saying, “No need to call a repairman or get a new one because this thing just might kick in at any moment.”
Joe often disagrees with Yasinskas, but not here, though Joe finds the refrigerator analogy a bit off the mark. For Joe, four straight blowouts, three straight home blowouts, nine straight losses, and widespread acceptance that the Bucs aren’t giving their all, is enough to end any coach’s reign.

The players quit on Raheem and it’s over for him and many of them as
Buccaneers. It’s on them and we have to pay for it.
Time to move on. Can anyone remember a more meaningless, empty game coming up? Probably cost 5 cents a minute to advertise on this one.
It’s on the Royal Glazerbaum’s and that’s not good for us unless they do a complete turnaround and act like they care about this team by taking affirmative action the fans can hang their hats on.
Happy New Year!!!

No way should Raheem be brought back. This team is absolutely lying down on him, and he isn’t responding. He should be lopping off heads at OneBuc. Watch the film Monday, see Quincy and Geno laying down- boom- they hit the streets.
That would stop this mutiny he’s enduring, and send a strong signal, that as Coach, he is not going to be bullied by players.
Instead, he keeps allowing players to go out and lose his job for him.
No way no how do I let that happen. I’d cut 10 payees if I had to, to restore the chain of command
And what’s he got to lose? Another Game? I’d respect him if he would fire the players who are quitting on him, and would rather watch Rookie FAs play hard, than waste one more second of my life watching Those guys walking around, disgracing both team and town by quitting!

No way should Raheem be kept in any job. New coach has QB, RG, LE, RE, MLB and not much else, need GM that will be aggressive in FA And owners with deep pockets.

Pat says ludicrous, I say absurd.
December 26th, 2011 at 11:27 am
@Cap’n Tim: AGREED. Well said. Fire the sh$tbags that lay down, they won’t be kept on once a new coach is brought in and reviews the film of these idiots.

This is all so laughable. Having this conversation is a conversation in its self. Thinking there is even a shred of Morris staying shows just how careless and unsupportive the Glazer boys are with this team. That alone should make us all wonder if this ship will be righted before it truly is sunk or sold. When these three ass clowns took over, the whole organization turned in to a cage of monkeys. If this crap(staff) does not get fixed this off season I will be assured there is no hope for any Tampa fan or player. Sorry Bucs!!!

If the rumors are true that Bill Cowher is being offered the Chargers Head Coaching job I think Bill would be great for us. Have you ever seen how mean he looks when pissed? He scares the bejesus out of me and would our players also. Hire Bill.

Six days and a wake up until Morris is fired.
December 26th, 2011 at 11:44 am
Capt Tim – I agree, if Morris would just cut a couple guys that have laid down and quit, he’d gain more respect from the players than just benching them for personal fouls or fumbles. Because now he’s messing with a man’s paycheck. Not doing that will spell the end of Raheem Morris. However, those players will soon find out that a new coach will not tolerate what happened BEFORE they arrived, and they will be cut quite rapidly. Most will be lucky to find a new job for a new team, as those teams will watch the game film and see that those players are quitters and not want them either. By laying down and quitting on Morris, these players may have just ended their own careers.

I think the Glazers thought they had an up and coming talent in Morris and didn’t want him to get away. However, Raheem was promoted way too early in his coaching development. In hind sight, keeping him as the D-coordinator and hiring an experienced HC would have been the best move.
The responsible move at this point would be to fire Rah and bring in a proven head coach. The guys who comes to my mind is Brian Billick. From his comments in the preseason games, he likes Freeman and the Bucs core young talent. Any thoughts on a Billick hire??
December 26th, 2011 at 11:58 am
Billick, from his coverage of the Bucs, has loved the young talent. I don’t think he’ll come but it sure would make him think twice.
GO BUCS!

Gruden goes 9-7 and 9-7, with his old team, and he walks the plank holding his trophy. Tampa replaces him with a DB coach and goes 3-13, 10-6 and now 4-12… My wife loves Chucky (“he’s cute”) and busts my chops every weekend now… Chucky has been on the payroll the 3 years, keep him on another 5, at least we might get back to 9-7…

Capt. Tim, BamBam, I don’t disagree that Morris should be replaced, But you give him power that he doesn’t have. Morris doesn’t have the power to hire and fire, that’s Dominik’s domain. If he did, Cadillac and Ruud would not have been let go. That’s documented!
December 26th, 2011 at 12:07 pm
How about Rob Ryan, Saints,Lions or Panthers OC, Romeo Crennell for head coach?
December 26th, 2011 at 12:09 pm
Both Dominik and Morris need to go. And they will.

I have seen enough to know that I have seen too much.

I like the refrigerator analogy.
But, the Glazer sons own the refrigerator, Morris is just the rotting head of lettuce inside.
December 26th, 2011 at 1:12 pm
I gave this refrigerator 2 1/2 years to kick in and although it showed a few signs of life in 2010 I believe it’s completely dead now. Time to recycle anything of value and replace the thing. A nice shiny new Clements, Chudzinski, Cowher or Fisher model would do nicely. Perhaps we’re in for a late Christmas present. Who knows?

As the last second ticks off the clock next Sunday , Rah should be out of a job . If they keep him for next year , that stadium will be so empty you’ll be able to hear a pin drop . This guy is terrible , can’t motivate , has a sorry defense and no offense . FIRE HIS BUTT and at least let us fans have some hope for next season !!!!

Fire the entire coaching staff….trade Blount for another first round pick and get Trent Richardson with the first pick and a DB or LB with the second pick. Problem is I doubt we could get a first round pick for Blount.
December 26th, 2011 at 5:20 pm
Macabee – So, Morris can’t cut players that quit on him, and he can’t keep players that give everything, even when times are tough. But it’s Morris that can’t coach or motivate or…. Sounds like he had it right, and Dom got those wrong then. Not that I want Dom gone, just that Morris didn’t have much say in who he has to put on the field and he’s the one gonna pay the price for it.
And to all that want to “Fire Everyone”.. owners, GM, coaches, players…
That’s easy… just keep being apathetic to your team when times are tough. They will go to another city at some point and maybe a decade later you “fans” can actually get the NFL to let you “hire” a new team like the Texans or Ravens…

rah’s got a huge set of keesters to go one wdae and do his radio show today….it has to be difficult for him….even peterson is distancing himself from rah, calling him “sir” a lot during the program…yowzers, rah is like so played out at this point…..
ok since rah hasn’t resigned today, he should do something funny like wear a shirt with a “giant bullseye” on it sunday as he walks the sidelines….he should have fun with this debockle…it would make it a more whimsical situation as this has gone way beyond bad or pathetic as of now…rah should steal the show sunday as the bullseye t-shirt would be the talk of the league and media….and it would subject him to a highly publicized fine with the commish…….adam from ny
