“The Best Motivational Guy”
December 22nd, 2011Last week Kellen Winslow, Jr. said Raheem Morris getting fired would “ruin” the Buccaneers.
Speaking to the Carolina media yesterday, a crushed-sounding Winslow elaborated, saying “it sucks” what’s happening in Tampa now and Raheem Morris is the best motivator he’s encountered.
“Coach Morris is the best motivational guy I’ve been around. He gets his guys going. It’s not there in the win-loss column. But I’ve never been around anybody better than him. I really haven’t. You know, it sucks what’s going on here, but we need him to carry on,” Winslow said.
“We really need this guy; he is the main part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We need that guy. I just can’t say enough about him. …And I think I’m speaking for the team. This is how everybody feels. You know, they would give their right arm for this guy. We didn’t have a good season. We’ll try to finish out the last two games, but we need this guy to move on to the next year. And you know, just move on, man. We gotta move on from this year. He’s just the heart of this team.”
Joe’s tired today and doesn’t feel like beating the same old drum about the paradox of Bucs players saying Raheem is the man while collectively the team is not playing for him. Something’s dreadfully wrong. Actions aren’t backing up the words.

Winslow just gave him the KOD!

he talks a good game, but doesn’t back it up on the field. Na na na na na na na na hey hey hey good bye!

“I love the guy! I’m afraid if someone else comes in they won’t put up with my pathetic effort when I get pissed that I’m not getting the ball enough and start to quit on my routes. Also, a new coach may require that I have to block in order to play. That ain’t gonna happen.”

I just kind of think that if Raheem was the “best motivational guy” around, then the team might look a little more…..Oh I don’t know……motivated, maybe?

IMO Kellen Winslow is a big part of the problem. How many times has he had key penalties at the worst of times? He has done as much to “ruin” the Buccaneers as anyone and if their HC does get fired, it’s on the players who have let him down.
And why the hell doe Kellen Winslow come out last carrying the flag at most home games, the ones in TAMPA? I don’t get it. Overpaid and over-rated from what I’ve seen. Good-bye.
Merry Christmas!

Hey Kellen, the fans want a good football coach not a good motivator. The fact you make millions to put on a helmet and catch a ball should be motivation enough. Maybe the Glazers can see if Anthony Robbins or Zig Ziglar are available.

Hey Kellen, Rah Rah Sis boom bah. There is your motivation. You get paid handsomely to play motivated. You catch the 2 point conversion to tie the game and show dedication and will to win, Oh yeah, that was one of your several drops this year. To all Buc players, shame on you for stealing money and calling yourself a professional. Pros never quit. Losing isn’t why I’m mad, it’s getting our teeth kicked in without fighting back or seeming to care. If you love Raheem so much, do your damn job! Go Bucs

Clearly Kellen the external motivation isn’t working. Never saw a cheerleader win a game.

7-9 is not having a good season. 10 game losing streak is blow the thing up and start over
December 22nd, 2011 at 5:03 pm
Hope Rah takes Win-SLOW with him! Time to clean house.
December 22nd, 2011 at 5:07 pm
Really…..why does everyone hate Winslow all of a sudden? I think he’s a good player. Sure he hasn’t had the best season, but WHO on this team has?!?
Keep Winslow around, but I’d like to see them get another TE to pair with him, kind of like how the Patriots have Aaron Hernandez and Gronkowski.
December 22nd, 2011 at 5:13 pm
Let him work for Tony Robbins then.

Draft NEws- Matt Barkley going back to school …
Sucks

California oranges. Texas cactus.
We think your team needs a little practice.
Put ’em in a high chair, feed ’em with a spoon.
Roll ’em up in toilet paper, kick ’em to the Moon!

He’ll be in the draft when he’s got no class!

Apparently, Raheem’s dumbness has gotten into the water supply.

@Patrick Fans have short term selective memory when it comes to the Bucs. All most tend to remember is what happened the past few weeks and only choose to remember the bad parts when the team as a whole is not playing well. As soon as they play well, right back on the band wagon.
December 22nd, 2011 at 7:42 pm
they all love the guy because they get away with whatever they want….
December 22nd, 2011 at 7:50 pm
On Sunday, driving home from work, got to hear Chiefs game. Guess who’s name I heard several times for pass breakups, tackles, tips etc. ….. Sabby Piscatelli…. Wow????????????
December 22nd, 2011 at 7:56 pm
I watched that game, sabby played pretty good.
December 22nd, 2011 at 8:44 pm
Joe…. can you find out why Mike Williams skipped his radio show today and left the host hanging (they had to call Dave Moore and do the show from his cell phone)?
thanks a lot
December 22nd, 2011 at 9:00 pm
Winslow and Faine with their negative diva attitudes are part of the problem, then Morris for not stomping it out
December 22nd, 2011 at 9:42 pm
Raheem is a great motivator. But He lost all credibility with the team when he played favorites. Talib didn’t have to obey the rules. Hayes and Black didn’t have to exert themselves. It’s obvious the team has tuned him out, and quit on him. Hopefully Raheem learns from this, because he will be a good coach someday.
But not here. He’s lost them, and they are flat laying down on him to get him fired. Gotta change
December 22nd, 2011 at 10:49 pm
Kiss of death, Winslow just exposed why rah is the problem.
December 22nd, 2011 at 11:06 pm
If our cheap ass owners will spend some $$$ in FA they should do everything possible to sign Greg Olsen to replace Winslow
December 22nd, 2011 at 11:14 pm
I mean really, if this is a simple case of motivation, they need to just call good old Matt Foley…… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxm3fqmRtQc

GO BUCS!!!
December 22nd, 2011 at 11:23 pm
Ron Rivera came out a few weeks ago and basically said everybody’s job was on the line and if his current players weren’t performing up to their abilities, he’d find some next year that would. Panthers have been a different team since then. It’s called accountability, which is something this organization and team are sorely lacking.

those supporting winslow are not going to the games. He either doesn’t care to or doesn’t want to put forth the effort or just plain can’t create separation thus all of his OPI penalties. It may be he just can’t do it any more with his knees. He gives effort to get to the balls that are near him but he doesn’t help Freeman out by creating easy targets. He also runs soft patterns now, might be his knees again but you need your best players out front making plays and not making excuses.

Please see the inspired colts.
December 23rd, 2011 at 3:38 pm
Winslow needs to stop this non-sense talk right now. That team has quit on Raheem and it’s discrespectful of him to say these things. I’d like to mention also that 2/3 of Freeman’s picks where forced balls to Winslow. This guy has too much sway and needs to get out of Freeman’s ear and get some seperation instead.
December 23rd, 2011 at 4:07 pm
If he’s so motivating why can’t we win a game?
