Cowboys 31, Bucs 15
December 18th, 2011A nationally televised night home game against the Dallas Cowboys and the Bucs don’t even bother to show up in the first half?
Nice job, fellas.
Adding insult to injury, Deion Sanders was on the Bucs’ sidelines telling the NFL Network audience at halftime that the Bucs have quit on Raheem Morris. And colleague Marshall Faulk agreed. “A lot of these guys have quit, man. … I know quit when I see quit,” Sanders said.
Of course, Bucs fans and Joe didn’t need Hall of Famers to tell them the obvious — that the Bucs have forgotten how to compete.
Raheem Morris might be pounding “core beliefs” to his team, but they’re not getting through. More dumb penalties, poor ball protection, ugly tackling, a slow start and an anemic offense were on display again, and the defense continues to have no answers and is historically dreadful.
In addition to the now eight-game losing streak, this makes three consecutive home blowouts to close the home schedule. No franchise can accept that.
Something has to change radically.
December 18th, 2011 at 12:37 am
At this point, everything’s question.
December 18th, 2011 at 12:39 am
Horrible football!!
December 18th, 2011 at 12:39 am
They were their best selves.
They went back to fundamentals.
They were not mentally weak.
The scoreboard is just gray matter.
No excuses but we are young and there was a lockout.
December 18th, 2011 at 12:39 am
Lol!
December 18th, 2011 at 12:40 am
Yeah it really sucked when we had Chucky and Monte and Richy B!
December 18th, 2011 at 12:40 am
The Glazers don’t care what you think. They will get even more millions now due to the TV contracts. They could not sell a ticket and still make more money than they make now. Our complaints fall on deaf ears. Play all the games in London, it won’t make a difference. I don’t believe a word that comes out of their mouths. The US Navy Seals had better luck finding Bin Laden than the Tampa Bay media has of finding a Glazer to make a public comment on the state of the Bucs.
December 18th, 2011 at 12:41 am
Dumb
December 18th, 2011 at 12:41 am
Before this game I was pretty certain Raheem wouldn’t be fired until after the season ends. Now im not so sure. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if he is canned tomorrow morning. That first half was horrendous and that might be the worst first quarter I have ever seen from the Bucs.
December 18th, 2011 at 12:41 am
Something has to change radically.
Joe, thats the understatement of the year.
This whole organization sucks!
December 18th, 2011 at 12:42 am
How the Bucs got to where we are presently:
– toughest schedule stretch in a long time aside from Jacksonville
– youngest team in nfl
– youngest coach in nfl
– no offseason to develop
– grahm and mccoy injured for the year
– incompetent OC and DC
– porous OL with arguably 2 decent players
– terrible talent on D asside from DL and ronde
– a lot of good guys at wr, but no dynamic playmakers
– hot/cold winslow is a coinflip as far as what you get out of him
– no one other than blount at rb worth two sh*ts
– owners who have dictated to GM not to spend money
– bottom 5 turnover margin and penalties
– qb who has talent, but clearly has regressed and is not being helped by anyone else on the team
Bright spots:
-K,P,DE’s
– I dare you to name any others not named Ronde who is a ? going forward bc I doubt he wants to be a part of this any more.
December 18th, 2011 at 12:42 am
How many times did they throw to mike Williams ? 0 . You have to find ways to get him the ball . NFL network pointed out everything all us joebucs have been saying . Claybourne bowers ronde free did not quit. 59 reminds me of Hayes I know he is young but he has shown me flashes then nothing
December 18th, 2011 at 12:44 am
Come on guys, lets bring Rah back and see if we can shoot gor Zero buc fans st home games next year
December 18th, 2011 at 12:46 am
Leighroy: dont blame the schedule:
Tenn, Jax, Carolina and 7-6 Dallas in the last 4 weeks – hardly a murderers row.
We suck bc our coachbis the worst – ever
December 18th, 2011 at 12:48 am
i wish i could buy our team. hell i wish i loved another team so i could save myself the pain of this crap. why do the glazer sons even bother with it. malcom did care. his sons, not so much. whatever. maybe they go bankrupt and la gets a team.
December 18th, 2011 at 12:48 am
TJ, Foster has talent, but is clearly being asked to do too much in a position that he is not really suited for, and is still in over his head. His failure to check out of the D call with the 5 wide on 3rd and 3 at our own 8 was the problem in a nutshell. He needs to be moved to Will or Sam and I believe he could be a very solid player with a veteran not named quincy black playing MLB.
December 18th, 2011 at 12:48 am
yea but dom looked real sharp with his tie and all.
he even had time to drop the OTA excuse on the nfl network.
total loser.
that team is NOT talented.
December 18th, 2011 at 12:48 am
I knew they were a bad team but didn’t know they were that bad….. What an embarrassment!!! They may need a TOTAL overhaul… JUST horrible!
December 18th, 2011 at 12:52 am
Thomas, Tennesse is 7-6 and they sure gave the Saints a run for their money last week. Carolina has a terrible record but look at their results this year and they are actually quite impressive. They hung in with pretty much everyone they played and havent laid a single egg nearly as ugly as the 4 we have the last month. Jags are terrible and that was my lone exception.
December 18th, 2011 at 12:58 am
dallas has a lousy defense and we score 8 at garbage time.
four passes in first half? 21 yards.
its so sickening now it is beyond comprehensio. or description.
we wouldnt be any worse if they cut every player and gave us an expansion team
and on national television
December 18th, 2011 at 12:58 am
Dom also had a headset on not talking seems like he was spying
December 18th, 2011 at 12:59 am
I’m not making excuses for this team, or anyone associated with it. The owners, GM, coaches, and players all have played a part in a miserable season. This is truly another sad day for our team. No matter what, I will still cheer for this team every week, but they sure do make it hard. This team has quit more than I can ever recall seeing another team quit. Very sad.
December 18th, 2011 at 1:01 am
Leighroy…you’re pissing against the wind, pal. Nothing you can say will give any evidence whatsoever that anything about this coaching staff is salvageable. Nothing. And only about half these players are salvageable, at that. There is no room remaining for glass-half-full types. It’s over. Come back to reality where the rest of us are, ’cause we’re not buying what you’re trying to sell. Sorry.
December 18th, 2011 at 1:04 am
It is on the coaches they won with the same players last year. And now they have regressed .so claybourne and bowers has made the team worse
December 18th, 2011 at 1:07 am
Hey Joe,
Buc Force made a really good point. With the current revenue sharing system in place, the Bucs will make plenty of money off of the TV deal. What motivation to the Glazers have for fielding a competitive product? They are going to make a lot of money either way.
December 18th, 2011 at 1:07 am
Joe…are you finally ready to give up hope that somehow Raheem can salvage his job? You held out longer than just about anyone. Have you seen the light?
December 18th, 2011 at 1:09 am
worst decisions in bucs history:
letting doug go
drafting bo jackson
firing chucky and hiring rah.
gotta reverse this
December 18th, 2011 at 1:11 am
Does Penn look fat and slow to anyone besides me? Not laying the blame solely on him- but the whole team looks slow, sloppy, and disorganized. This is worse than those early 90’s years. At least then we could count on at least one exciting play from Vinny (to Dawsey, Thomas, or Jackie Harris) in between the interceptions and fumbles. Four-dash-one anyone?
December 18th, 2011 at 1:14 am
I’m not even mad; I am impressed…. At just how much they really suck! I do feel bad for Ronde though, the last staple of a once great defense is part of the worst defense in the league! That has to be frustrating, we may have seen Mr. Barber’s last home game… Sad day in Tampa Bay
December 18th, 2011 at 1:15 am
@eric
Chucky would’ve eventually been fired anyway because if he stayed he would’ve had Raheem as his defensive coordinator.
December 18th, 2011 at 1:15 am
FL Boy, you’re right, I’m just angry more than anything I guess. I’ve been sort of in Joe’s camp, but at this point it’s over for Raheem, he has passed his tipping point.
At this point, we are saving deck chairs on the Titanic.
December 18th, 2011 at 1:16 am
FlBoyinDallas, you’re giving these players WAYYYY too much credit, there are maybe 12 guys TOTAL that deserve to be in the NFL, the rest would be lucky to make another team’s practice squad. ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC PERFORMANCE!
December 18th, 2011 at 1:18 am
Good point about Chucky Patrick.
December 18th, 2011 at 1:22 am
And take Freeman suspect decision-making and inaccuracy with him. Blow it all the way up.
December 18th, 2011 at 1:22 am
Joe will spend the next 2 to 3 hours putting out stories tonight for us–it would be nice to see the bucs even put in half an effort like that for us!
December 18th, 2011 at 1:26 am
Patrick,
You got me there!
LMAO
December 18th, 2011 at 1:29 am
Only a fool commits the same act over and over, and expects an different outcome.
December 18th, 2011 at 1:37 am
Right now, it is Shaun King leading the fan charge for serious change in Tampa, as far a sports radio goes.
Good Lord, where has our Media been in calling for major change in Tampa ?
It really is embarrassing when Deion Sanders says on National TV that our team has quit.
The overall Sports Media in Tampa are a bunch of want to be politically correct ass kissers, quick to yell at fans who call in to their shows, yet too spineless to make a stand or lead a charge against the failed policies of One Bucs Place.
No Guts, No Glory, unless you want to be a middle of the road Chip Carter ass kisser type of sports journalist/personality.
December 18th, 2011 at 1:38 am
I swear they played better defense that this in 76.
December 18th, 2011 at 1:41 am
This show is over man, and again I feel terrible for Raheem. It’s always interesting reading out-of-town guys opinions on the squad, and you’ve got Faulk and Irvin saying they know our guys have quit on Raheem, the guy who’s protected their asses since day one. Sean Jones is the worst pile of garbage excuse for a football player that I’ve seen. He’s worse than Quincy Black. Tanard has lost his excuse of not having an offseason, he’s had plenty of games and STILL can’t tackle. We already know the story on Quincy and Geno. The only guys that show any effort are the younger d linemen and corners. Greg Olson continues to have a piss poor game plan, combined with receivers that absolutely cannot get open. We have so many holes on this team between corner depth, a real number one receiver, a right tackle, and linebackers. If we don’t tap into free agency for a few players this year we are going to be in the NFC South cellar next year, REGARDLESS of coaching change. Any TOOL that thinks Belichick could coach this team to the playoffs is devoid of credibility in my book. Raheem deserves blame for the defensive collapse and overall team collapse of course, but don’t fool yourself into thinking that Vince Lombardi could coach this team to the playoffs this year.
December 18th, 2011 at 1:44 am
Oh, and Raheem will be fired, probably Monday, and WILL be a defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles next year. Heard it here first! Haha.
BTW, anybody else hear about Dom wearing a headset tonight? I’m sure Joe will put a story up about it, I really wanna hear more about that, pretty interesting.
December 18th, 2011 at 1:51 am
Changes definitely need to be made, but I dont think they have to be the head coaching position. I think we can honestly all say that they have not given the guy a fair chance when it comes to winning. I think the changes has to start with the Glazers first! Give this team a shot in the arm with some veterans and skilled position players. Raheem may not be the second coming of Tony Dungy or Lombardi but if we were to fire him tomorrow with out truly giving him a chance we may never know what we have. I say invest a little money in defense and draft some intelligent players who have talent and can be coached up( not thugs .) And next year at this time if were in the same boat then it will be time for Raheem to get the axe. This team is YOUNGRY only because of the Glazers and know one else. Too bad we cant just fire them, I’ll just continue to make my point by staying home .
December 18th, 2011 at 1:59 am
Great Posts K2, and I bet Raheem will catch on somewhere, in the NFL.
I am pleased you too see it isn’t just coaching.
It seems pretty clear by the silence of both the Glazer Kids and Mark Dominick, they intend to make Raheem the Scapegoat for the failure of the team.
So far, Raheem has taken the high road. It is gonna get very interesting when he is fired, and opens his mouth about the whole situation at One Buc Place.
December 18th, 2011 at 2:01 am
penn always looks fat but he normally plays good. that second sack wasn’t really his fault freeman simply held onto the ball too long. I cant wait till this team signs a few free agents are two, because clearly the same regime will not be in place then everyone blaming the glazers ( who werent blaming them when we were 3 and 1 and 10 and 6 last year ) can shut their F#CKING MOUTHS. People buy a franchise to one make money and two because their fans and also like to make money. How do you make money, you sell a good product. the glazers are not dumb they will get the bucs back on track. i keep asking you people were the glazers cheap in the beginning of the decade? no so you all have nothing to back up your statements. before the new cba the glazers had to pay top picks 50 plus million, do you think they enjoy doing that. NOOOOOOOO they don’t. plain and simple team has regressed, we played nfc west last year, freeman was a surpries that teams weren’t prepared for. This offseason is going to be huge for him. he needs to go back to last years form because if not he will be gone as well. dom rah cowher fisher whoever it is will get him a weapon or two or three in the offseason as well as a better offensive line to protect him. Maybe if our offense could sustain a few drives we wont have to invest so much into the defense because they will be rested and make a play or two once in a while
December 18th, 2011 at 2:04 am
@ AppleRoof, appreciate the compliment. I’ll be rooting for Morris where ever he goes. He’ll get another head coaching job in the future. It’s sad that Dom is gonna keep his job when he’s done a piss poor job of talent evaluation.
December 18th, 2011 at 2:08 am
besides that, it looks like were going with a top 5 pick. what better weapon than TRENT RICHARDSON. we passed on adrian peterson because we had caddy, and i sure hope we dont pass on him because of blount. yea we could use linebackers corners and wr, but richardson is a machine who can stay on the field in passing downs also. imagine him and blount that would be a great combo and he would definitely help freeman out
December 18th, 2011 at 2:13 am
^^^It’d also put some people in the seats. Maybe lol.
December 18th, 2011 at 2:16 am
T-Rich is a beast, but it’s just that we have so many holes on defense it’s difficult to say. I guess we’ll see.
December 18th, 2011 at 2:29 am
thibs5599 ….Sooo because the Glazers spent money at the beginning of the decade that makes them good owners? Reallllllly? The beginning of the decade is before they were majority owners of the most expensive sports franchise in the world which cost 1.5 billion dollars. And since they have put nothing into this franchise. The last free agent I can remember with any name or ability at all that this team has brought aboard was Jeff fricking Garcia. Anyone who points the blame anywhere but on those cheap bastards simply needs to take off the blinders and actually pay attention. And ps they could barely payoff the loan to by Man U.

K2 I awe domminick with headset on too . But he was not talking he had binoculars too. He looked like a father spying on his daughter at a prom party
December 18th, 2011 at 2:54 am
I wonder what that’s about TJ…Joe do you know anything more about that??
December 18th, 2011 at 3:15 am
@tj
Actually, maybe the Glazers fired him at halftime? Maybe he was looking toward the airport nearby with his binoculars to see when his plane is going to land to get him out of Tampa.
December 18th, 2011 at 9:05 am
Has anyone stopped to think maybe Dom is up there “pulling the strings” on the Raheem marionette. I saw that as well and right before they went to Dom they showed Rah Rah on the sideline talking to someone on his headset. If they are having a career scout ( Dummynik ) help coach this team from the booth……HOLY SH*T this so called hc and this team is even worse off than I thought!!!!! This whole organization has been a joke!
December 18th, 2011 at 9:36 am
first off, sorry about the ranting had a few drinks last night stayed in to watch the game because I thought OUR bucs might pull something out of their asses, there for I wasted my Saturday night along with a friends. One bright spot, all game i said watch Clayborn and even a non Buc fan admitted that the kid can game.
@2002 seems so far away
yes the Glazers are in more debt than most teams, however they are also number 18 on the list. The article also said that their financial situation is looking up, with more sponsorships their debt is getting smaller each year. Think about it, $20 million or so for some free agents is pocket change to the Glazers, they are going to have to spend that anyway in two years. The Glazers along with every other owner makes SOOOOOO much money outside of football that what they spend on salaries and what not really shouldn’t matter. You make 700 million here but hey we need to spend 20 there, you still make 680 million, its not that much money. just an example
December 18th, 2011 at 9:41 am
As for Trent, yes we have a lot of holes, but freeman needs some help, this offense is not explosive at all, Mike Williams did not even catch a pass. I feel like Blackmon will be off the board with the second pick to the rams, and I want claiborne and teo or kueckly as much as anyone, but Trent will bring another dimension to this offense. Make the offense a high powered offense that can put up a ton of points, and we have a better chance at winning. Look at the pats, they have practice squad players every week stepping up, there always winning or at least in games so they don’t have to worry about it. If you can put up 40 points a game you don’t need defense. Lets fix one unit at a time, make this offense explosive and fun. We have good DE and hopefully good DT, we have young linebacker, and could use some help in the secondary ( stay healthy Talib ).
December 18th, 2011 at 9:48 am
I’ll take Monte and Lane Kiffin at this point. At least the defense would be better. It couldn’t be much worse.
December 18th, 2011 at 10:15 am
Might be on to something there . Who remember s when rah had to call and ask for permission.to put freeman in against the patriots
December 18th, 2011 at 10:29 am
Trent Richardson is not Adrian Peterson. I’ve watched him since he was a freshman and he has regressed. He’s getting more touches and has more power now, but he has lost SO MUCH SPEED. This dude was a home run hitter as a freshman and now he has to make 5 guys miss to get 20 yards. He’s just gonna get bigger. I don’t take him until around 15-20. I’m a fan of Ingram, I just think he’s gotten too big for his own good. We already have a back who Aaron Rodgers thinks is one of the best two in the NFL. If LeGarrette decides to go to Green Bay, then take Richardson.
Oh, but if Robert Griffin is there, take him. He’s Michael Vick with size and a head.

GREAT I LIVE IN CANADA AND THE PRIMETIME GAMES ARE THE BEST AND NOW NEXT YEAR THERE WILL BE NONE!!!!!!!!!!
