“Ownership Is Rooting For Raheem Morris.”

The glorious NFL Network, in advance of its nationally televised game between Dallass and the Bucs Saturday night in prime time, decided to turn its klieg lights on the Bucs and in particular, embattled Bucs coach Raheem Morris.
With the John Clayton rumors of Morris’ near-demise Monday buzzing across Tampa Bay, Bucs beat writer Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times offered his takes to the NFL Network on what is wrong with the Bucs, and more.
Stroud stated that Morris is “grasping at straws” and that the team has not been the same since it left for London with a 4-2 record. He also uttered the headline quote above and explained.
Also, Stroud notes that despite an ugly seven-game losing streak including a curb-stomping by Carolina and a seal-clubbing at the hands of the woeful Jags, Morris still has a chance to save his job.

Here’s my theory.
Glazer’s keep Rah since he has one year left on the contract. After that year they will HAVE to spend money do to the CBA 2013 [or whatever they call it]. So they bring in a HC and spend the needed money and the Bucs are once again competitive.
By that time we should have the peices in place for a DC/OC and HC to put a winning product on the field.
What say you?

You’ve got to be kidding me. Morris needs to be fired. Now. A chance to save his job after the last 2 blowouts to teams with worse records than ours? Oh wait their records aren’t worse anymore. THANKS TO US.

Hey Joe, I root for my old car as well, its basically paid for. I really don’t won’t a new expensive model that will be more reliable and give me better results. Maybe if i can put some new tires, wash it and vacuum the inside i can get another year or two out of it.

no decent co-ordinator will come here to work with a failing coach with one year left on the contract.
The Raheem experiment failed, so what, admit the mistake and move on.
To me, it’s very simple:
– Clean house and hire an experienced coach and co-ordinators.
– Take 2012 to assess the team and get them heading in the right direction
– In 2013, make a move in FA when the salary cap forces you to spend.
And Ronde….it’s probably time to shut up about Raheem etc. He’s your friend, but you look stupid trying to support him.

I hate giving up on anyone, but if we’re going to move on at some point, lets get it done so I can start rooting for the new coach.
Here’s something to consider…the Glazer’s have been wanting Parcells here for years…wonder if they have contacted him? He’s part owner of the Dolphins isn’t he? (I’m really not sure)
Personally, I think Raheem could turn things around. Bring in a good DC that is Cover 2 style, replace Olsen. Extend Raheem for 2 years. Raheem is cheap, so they can still fire him after a year…and it would give the stability to the team to lure in the coordinators.
HOWEVER, I also think that, because of the media, things have gone too far and the Glazer’s will HAVE to fire Morris.

Parcells is really old and his rebuild in Miami was not good at all. I think the game has passed him. It is no longer his time.

If he wins another game he probally wont be fired. We would have to lose out and get blown out one more game for Morris to really go. The bad part is it will be the same next year because we wont be able to change our coaching staff with him around. I would be open to giving him another year if the pieces around him would change all the way to coaching to FA but that wont happen so unfortunately he has to go because of that. The sad part is that Morris is the scapegoat of all this Dominick should go to for not inserting the pieces around him to make this work.

Actually, Parcells had that team winning, it wasn’t until Ross took over that Bill packed his office and made a very public exit and the FIns began to fail, Irland has survived somehow.

Morris should stay. Provided there is good chemistry with coaches, players, FO, etc, there is no need to fire a coach every few years for lack of winning. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers started a rebuilding project which takes AT LEAST 3 years to see some sort of success. The Bucs in particular, GUTTED the team year one – you honestly can’t count that year and I’m sure the Glazers don’t. Year 2 was not expected to be good, yet it was – very considering the gutting. Year 3 has not been good at all, a step back. Some times it takes a step back to take 2 steps forward. Yes the fans matter, the Glazers know that – they’re not stupid. However, if you implement a plan in business, you have to give that plan ample time to succeed, otherwise you WILL fail more often than not. Along the way, you make subtle changes if the plan needs tweaking. It’s smart business for longevity. Staff changes are in order, that’s our subtle changes. This year is our step back, next year should be two steps forward – that is the expectation.
Have patience, we’ll be rewarded.

No need to look any further than the previous game to KNOW how bad things have gotten. Here is the Facts:
The Bucs just lost to a team with an interm head coach
A Rookie QB
19 players on injured reserve
1 offensive player
A team that averaged 12 points a game
With a 14-0 lead &
A team with Zero fans in the stands
Yes they need more talent on this team, but getting beat like that has more to do with coaching than it does talent. Besides the Bucs have twice the talent across the board then the Jag’s. After that game we might have twice as many fans as well.

It is all starting to make sense. It wasn’t the trip to London, it had little to do with that. The problem is who they played in London… the Bears. I wonder how many NFL teams have struggled after facing the Bears and drug kingpin, Sam Hurd. It wasn’t the trip, it was the connections made on that trip that are ruining the Bucs. Hurd’s probably got 2/3 of the team hooked on something wicked. The LBs play like they’re stoned, the WRs too. The DBs and DL are doing the coke (It’s had a good affect on the DL)… and the entire offense looks to be on extasy.
Who’da thunk it, it wasn’t London, it wasn’t the Bears, it was Sam Hurd that ruined our season.

Hmm. Looks like division rival Atlanta isn’t having too much Trouble with The Jags so far. They are giving them the same kinda seal clubbing that the jags gave us.

This is the first time I’m not excited about the draft. We’ll draft 2 linebackers that will start immediately making us even younger than this year. We will hear about how it’s all about 5 and then go out in the 5th round and pick up a 3rd down back which will be the only offensive weapon we’ll add. Then we will hear why we can’t sign any FA cause we want to teach them the Buc way. Then we will win 3 games next year and probably get the first pick. We’ll draft 2 cornerbacks that will start immediately making us the you gets team…..no FA…. About 5. Draft a wr in 4th round….
This is how Dominic Operates and as long as he stays the GM this will how the team will remain no matter if Raheem is here or not.
A formula guaranteed not to work. Stay young, add no FA, dont spend money..
Owners do us a favor and fire Dominic, open your wallets and add competetion at every position and make the players earn a roster spot no matter where their drafted.

@Brandon… I think you might have something. At least it would explain how we dropped so far so fast. Young guys that are easily influenced made them easy targets.

Morris is probably a nice guy. However, He was never qualified to be a DC, much less made Head Coach. Keeping Morris & bringing in an experienced DC at this point is like a cat covering up his mess. Not that a decent DC would come here under these circumstances, but even if one did, it would be a public slap in Raheem’s face for the blatantly inept job he has done with the defense so far. (Bates stats were probably better) And how can anyone justify keeping Raheem as HC, when it is obvious that he has no discipline on the team, and no clue as to the X’s & O’s of ligitimate coaching. All the good HC’s spent years being tutored & trained before making it to the HC position. Raheem spent approx. One week. All that “he trained under Kiffin, was tutored by tomlin, etc” is a bunch of Bullspit! Morris was a quality control coach when Kiffin was here, and Tomlin was an ass’t DB coach, just as Raheem was before is sudden Promotion to DC, then HC. Raheem needs to go Now! and a Qualified Coach hired before January if the Glazers want ‘any’ tickets sold in 2012.

X’s and O’s…..give me a friggin break. It’s not the X’s and O’s that are the problem. It’s the ‘execution’ of them that is the problem. I’m sorry but that’s what you get with youth. It’s a lot easier to blame it on Morris and if that floats your boat… In the Jacksonville game we drove down the field on our first possession and scored a TD. Then we get a pick and take it in for a TD. At that point no one is saying “Morris is an idiot!!!” Then we turn the ball over 7 times and suddenly it’s all Morris’ fault. Whatever…..
