Josh Freeman Will Not Play
December 4th, 2011Gulp!
The St. Pete Times is reporting Josh Freeman will not play today. Sure, Freeman hasn’t had the greatest season, but he’s still a critical cog to any Bucs victory.
For Joe, this is a bit of a silver lining. There’s got to be no doubt the Bucs will pound LeGarrette Blount to make life easier on Josh Johnson.
What an opportunity for Johnson, who gets to showcase himself against a garbage Carolina defense as he approaches unrestricted free agency. Johnson can make himself some good money this weekend — in Tampa or another city.
Now Joe has read from some conspiracy theorists that the reason why Freeman won’t play is that if the Bucs lose to the Panthers with Josh Johnson as the starter, no big deal. If the Bucs lost to the lowly Panthers with Freeman, the vultures would be circling embattled Bucs coach Raheem Morris.
Adjust your tin foil hats accordingly.
No excuses, Bucs. Go beat the lowly Panthers at home.

Operator: “Hello, thanks for calling Mayflower Movers, how may we help you?”
Rah: “I need a quote for a packing and moving job from Tampa to NJ”

i bet freeman could of played today rah just doesent want him to, so after we lose he can say our best player was not on the field today

Go Josh Johnson! This game is going to feature two explosive running quarterbacks. We will see if Carolina can handle the same medicine that Cam dishes out.

So he could have played Wednesday but not four days later? How badly is he hurt exactly?

Let’s just trade freeman for a 1st or 2nd rd pick and go after RGIII. Freema wass scared to face off against Newton anyway. Newton is everything freeman wants to be. Freeman became hollywood after all the hype from last year. With RGIII we get a QB that can acually hit an open WR and run when he have to, oh and 4.3 speed helps.

I just hope JJ does what Free has stopped doing this year….don’t sit back and try and show everyone you are the new Tom Brady, you aren’t. If a lane opens up and you can pick up the first down with your legs, run, take the yards, and slide.
I know it’s Madden football, but we need to keep their defence on the field.

LOL comparing Josh Johnson (“career backup” per his head coach) to probable rookie of the year Cam Newton, as “explosive running quarterbacks”. Thanks, I needed the laugh today

I hate to see Freeman sit,but this is an otherwise meaningless game.So I’m excited to see once again that J.J. cant or isn’t ready to play QB and maybe he will convert to WR next yr.
PFT has a list of Coaches on the hot seat and possible replacements. They brought up some names I forgot about; Billick, Edwards, Sherman, Childress, Schottenheimer, Fassel, Marriucci, Mangini, Mora.Only ONE of those interest me EDWARDS with a Good Staff would be nice, Edwards would bring some class and “PLAYOFFS” maybe.Edwards would have to have a good DC like Marinelli and OC like ?

Why not sit Freeman?? They’re already in the tank with the vans packed up…let’s see what JJ can do and then use him for trade bait in the offseason if he does well. We need all the draft picks we can collect.

so transparent – rah and dom are amateurs – sitting Free to give tham another excuse. I think that they expect to lose with or without FRee.
If they were smart (which they arent) they would turn Blount and Free lose and ensure that they dont finish in last place.
With that said, I am not sure that JJ will hurt them, and the Bucs may still steal a close win.

@ForidaGirl
JJ is an unrestricted FA at the end of the season. He and Raheem can share job seeking tips come next season when both are looking for work.
December 4th, 2011 at 1:33 pm
Well at least Raheem has his excuse ready…..
December 4th, 2011 at 1:35 pm
@bUcNcRazy
Edwards, are you serious? He’s just an older version of Raheem, his teams were undisciplined and generally were average and below, he’s got a .333 winning % as a HC. No thanks. Jeff Fisher is the best fit, this team, talent wise is a mirror of his Titans with McNair and George. We have the talent, we need a professional coaching staff.

Sorry; I love the Bucs as much as anyone on here, but I don’t think Josh Johnson could beat the Florida Panthers never mind the Carolina Panthers. Unless that is we change the scoring system to include points for punts and turnovers. The only way this team even compete’s today is if the defense has grown a set of balls this week and decides to be physical. Otherwise; I see a Houston type performance! If this team gives up like that again today; even the rats will be jumping off this sinking ship.

Thomas,
Stop being stupid. There’s no excuses. At the end of the season, it comes down to your record. Nobody cares who plays or doesn’t play. You are a moron.
December 4th, 2011 at 2:06 pm
@flmike, I was talking about the choices i havent thought about.I would rather have Reid than Fisher,But Fisher would be great.
December 4th, 2011 at 2:09 pm
Besides, why would they take him out on a winnable game? If they were going to do that, they would do it against a good team.
December 4th, 2011 at 2:19 pm
Is it bad that Im actually excited to see Josh Johnson start? Freeman has been as bad a player as there is on this team at times this year. He’s only really had 2 or 3 decent games and JJ could possibly provide a spark that Freeman hasnt really managed to do this year. If nothing else JJ is more likely to take off running when nothing is there than FReeman which is the biggest problem Ive had wit Freemans play this year.

The Bucs are giving up.Raheem last game as HC.Talib grabbed both hamstings?
