Ronde Barber Has Cam Newton’s Attention

When the Bucs host the lowly Panthers Sunday, the Bucs will have a shot to take advantage of Cam Newton.
The rookie Panthers signal-caller has surprised just about everyone this side of his family. Dude is lighting up the scoreboard and appears to be a very scary quarterback.
But it doesn’t seem that Newton’s early success in the NFL has gone to his head. In speaking recently about the Bucs, he lauded ageless Bucs cornerback Ronde Barber for being perhaps the smartest opponent he has yet to face, so reports Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer.
“But the one thing I see about Barber is he might be old, but my man is playing with the best of them and he’s smart. He’s going to outsmart you. He watches film. It’s evident watching him play. If he gets beat, he’s going to beat you to the point to where you want to go.”
Of course, Joe will have more about what he believes will happen with this game come Sunday, but Joe’s got a bad feeling. That written, it’s cool that Newton, an NFL newbie is giving respectful props to his league elders like Barber.

I agree Joe… I have a bad feeling.
The Pantehres always give the Bucs problems. Cam is lighting it up and the running game is awesome.
The Bucs haven’t stopped a running attack in awhile.
I don’t think the Bucs are explosive enough to keep up. Now Josh Freeman is “questionable”. I think he plays but…. not looking good.

Joe’s got a bad feeling, I’m ambivalent – doesn’t matter whether we win or lose. What are we playing for? To allow Morris to serve out the final year of his contract? Shouldn’t be that. If the decision makers at One Buc believe that the myriad of problems that exist, some of their own doing, can be fixed, then Morrris essentially gets an extension. That doesn’t appear to be likely although stranger things have happened. Carolina is an excellent example of what happens when even a proven and capable coach like John Fox, has to endure a lame duck year. It’s interesting how a 3-8 team like Carolina that probably won’t get much better can seem so promising and the Bucs with a 4-7 record and has beaten the 2 best teams in the division can appear so pointless. It’s like the economy – it’s called consumer confidence!

Two bad defenses (yes, they are worse), one offense attacks vertically, and one offense that doesn’t.

This is a ball control game if I have ever seen one. their defense can’t stop anyone, we need to attack it with LGB all day, just turn around and hand it off to him and shove it down their throats for 60 minutes. And please, if they prove that they cannot stop a play, please for all that is holy repeat that play until they prove that they can stop it. I hate the coaching philosophy that says you cannot repeat the same play in a game, what kind of asinine crap is that, you make them prove they can stop it. Vince Lombardi won with 3 plays, 3 simple plays that the Packers perfected and used until someone proved they could stop them.

ive had a bad feeling since the bucs announced a new head coach and raheem morris took to the podium.
surely tbis is a perverse nightmare.

Now that everyone is having a bad feeling about this game, I’m going against the grain to predict that the Bucs pull it out on the final drive for a win. But I still don’t think they win more than 5 or 6 games by the time it’s all said and done this year.
