Haynesworth Passes Second Test

Week 2 of the Albert Haynesworth experiement is in the books and Raheem Morris likes what he sees, so he said at his afternoon news conference today.
“He gets off the ball,” Raheem said. “He really elimates people.”
Raheem went on to say the Bucs need a better plan for Haynesworth in the pass rush and praised Haynesworth for his push in the pocket. “He really collapses it,” Raheem said.
Clearly Haynesworth was hurt early in the game with what looked like a nasty neck stinger from friendly fire.
As Joe has written before, all reports have Haynesworth under contract for 2012 at $7 million. It’s going to be very interesting to see what happens if No. 95 gives his all over the next six games.

This could be the perfect signing. If AH can step, and grow up, he has the mouth to be the leader of this D, and the skill and experience to back it up. Let’s hope he realizes this opportunity and takes full advantage.

It’s refreshing to see a MAN play on this “professional team”…not sure if anybody caught his interview on Friday night…his agent called the Bucs…Dominick didn’t even have the foresight on this as well…
If there is a worse GM in the league please point him out because this guy has failed on an O coordinator , D coordinator, Myron Lewis, Quincy Black re-sign, letting your QB of the defense go leaving the calls to a rookie, resigning Jackson who btw is hurt as well, the glass doll McCoy….seriously the list is ridiculous…BUT don’t expect the Glazers to do anything..they could care less.

Jackson was a good signing, we got him cheap. The guy stepped in after a year off and snagged 2 picks in back to back games before pulling a hammy. There are allot of guys in league out with hamstrings this year, it’s not a long term concern.

last year everyone praised DOM for fielding a 10-6 team with a bunch of undrafted free agents and rookies. Now this year you and everybody else are hating on the man. I have done some hating myself mainly out of frustration on game days about the coaching, and i still cant stand greg olson even though yesterday he scripted up a pretty good game, saw lots of three and four wr sets, we ran the ball out of different formations, but still hate him. as for DOM yea he has made some mistakes but hes also picked up some pretty good guys and his drafts have panned out pretty good compared to other teams over the past few years.
Nobody knew mccoy would have two freak injuries, come on two torn bicep muscles who the hell tears their biceps. wasnt injury prone in college either. And yes did give black a big contract i didnt understand that either but we have the money so its not like thats going to hold us back in the future. If anything i think dom has realized when he screws up and fixes things quickly (clayton and ward). I think he will let black go even if he doesnt he wont be a starter regardless what he makes, will let olson go and find a new OC and get Rah some help on D, if not his job might be on the line as well

As for Albert, I know its only been two games but I think he has been playing pretty good. If he keeps this play up and attitude, and gets a sack or two down the stretch, we almost have to keep him. Yea hes due 7 million but thats not a ridiculous amount, plus you never know the guy could take a pay cut down to maybe 5 or so and that would be perfect. I would love to see albert on this roster next year and roy miller begging for a job somewhere because he is just horrendous.

I like Albert. He seems like a genuine guy and his teammates have gone outta their way to praise him. This is a good place for him, perfect if you ask me.
And at Kappa, quit it with the Dom bashing. Bringing back T-Jack was in no way a mistake. He’s hurt, but he snagged two INTs in his first 2 games back. He has potential to be an elite safety.

I really want to keep haynesworth next year… Mccoy and haynesworth with price and okam backup for depth.. then miller cut.. hes never going to be better then what he is right now… please draft a pro bowl line backer next year… like von miller! and start watson now.. that would help our linebacker core.. Free agency pay Deshawn Jackson get him to the bucs.. then draft Dbs and O-linemen!

Glad to see I hit a nerve….It’s about time. I won’t get off of “Dom” because he has an elite job in an elite league and he is making SERIOUS mistakes…he hired an offensive coordinator THAT COULDN’T CALL PLAYS! And a D coordinator that ran a 3-4…even though we had the slightest players in the league…really! As for T jack…”elite”..”elite” doesn’t let his team down 3 x’s! and then when he’s up…go limp…That’s weak sauce
OF COURSE HE SIGNED HAYNESWORTH…HE DIDN’T HAVE A CHOICE! They were down to nothing. Sure it was a great hire. It was imperative.
Look I was looking forward to doing what Mckay day in building through the draft SMARTLY…unfortunately we don’t have “smart”…we have a dreamer hoping it works out…really?…this is the NFL. THE richest most powerful sports league on the planet and you people are are okay with a GM that hired a guy that couldn’t call plays?
The last thing this team and city needs is more sycophants…so K2 do US a solid and take your nose out of their rears and call it like it is….because you sir are embarrassing yourself…..

I can’t see him back for $7 million next year regardless of what he does in these last 6 games. I would however like to have him back if he continues to play like this, if for nothing else we desperately need the depth at the position.

Saying he is the worst GM in the league is borderline Thomas-foolishness. He has definitely made a bunch of mistakes, but all GM’s do. Also, with time things often play out differently. 2 years ago, Ted Thompson (Packers GM) was considered a terrible GM for getting rid of Favre. It looked pretty bad at first, but I think it’s safe to say popular opinion has changed. Although I would agree he has made some bad signings and draft picks, he has also made quite a few really good ones. Freeman, Winslow, Williams, Benn, Blount, Clayborn, Price, Koenan, Barth, Foster, Grimm and GMC (when healthy) all seem to be very good picks and the base for a very good team. Are they enough? Obviously not, but most aren’t even close to the prime of their careers yet.
Worst GM in the league? Not even close. He’s not even the worst in the state of Florida (he’s actually the best in Florida, granted that doesn’t mean much). What about the Browns? Has Holmgren brought in better talent than Dominik? St. Louis? Seattle? Minnesota? Buffalo? Should I go on?
I get it you don’t like some of his decisions. Neither do I. But I’m getting fed up with all of this over-emotional, sky is falling mentality of some of our fans. We are losing, it sucks, but it doesn’t mean we need to blow the whole thing up (yet). Now if we finish 4-12, I’ll bring the dynamite.

Like what you said Hawiian Buc, if we can finish this season strong atleast with a 4-2 record thats only a two game drop from last years total, and we might of had the hardest schedule in NFL HISTORY, thats not too bad. I am upset as well i think we could have easily been 2-2 over the past two games if rah coached this team up like he did yesterday, and if we could get some points in the redzone.
That is whats killing us the most, redzone offense is absolutely pathetic, i know some of its on freeman but we never run when were in the redzone and yesterday we saw what running the ball does. but i put more blame on olson because of that and i honestly think he is a goner after this year unless we win out and make the playoffs somehow.
As for defense DOM gave RAH a shot and clearly he cant do both at the same time, he needs a little help. RAH is young and could use some guidance, look at how many second halves he has turned around and stopped the run or the pass, he just needs to learn how to do it for the entire game, and the way he was yesterday and all last week getting in players faces and challenging his players is the way he needs to be all the time.

he needs to put fear into his players, look at hayes, guy has been benched twice so far, he hasnt stepped up so hes not playing as much, i like that mentality, if you cant get the job done someone else will (or atleast try)

Effectively and realistically, the season is lost. And only ten games old. Pretty much relegated to watching how Haynseworth plays.
Pretty dang depressing.

Albert in 2 games has proven how bad Softy Mccoy really was. Shaun King said today on the radio:
McCoy has never had a game where he was as disruptive as Haynesworth was in either of his first games as a buc with virtually no familiarity with our defense.
He is absolutely right, and because its true Softy has not proven to be “a very good pick.”
Also, Dom isnt the worst GM in the league, unfortunately he employs the worst coach in NFL history.

I seriously am doubting the ability of my fellow Tampa fans to make up thier minds.
As to Haynesworth, I’m not sold yet. I’m supportive, but its going to take more than 2 decent games from him to convince men he should stay past the end of the year.
I’m liking what I see so far, but its only 2 games.
As to the rest…believe it or not, Black had his best game of the season…he just had one major fowl up. I still want Biggers gone. If you recall, I wanted him gone before the draft 😛

Hawaiian: he has made a series of horrible decisions from the Leftwich debacle, to trying to make J Phillips a linebacker, to hiring and scapegoating both coordinators during the season, to setting your team’s goal at a place that gets you third place in the division and no playoffs, to some terrible in game decisions I.e. Going on 4th at horrible times, untimely onside kicks, to having players loaf and miss assignments, to off the field character problems and on and on and on.
Not to mention a 17-25 record, no playoffs, blackouts and community apathy, that is a record that is unmatched in its futility in my memory.
But hey – we only lost by nine on Sunday thanks to that missed field goal at the end which would have made it 12 – what an accomplishment!

Im not on any bandwagon, but i do like the fat albert signing.
Gotta give credit where it is due.
I remember back in the days of the epic battles with Green bay they had an immovable guy in the midddle. Different style of defense but we could never get a running game going against him. Albert is kinda like that.
