Haynesworth Passes Fitness Test — Tampa Style

The Bucs’ newest big fella was on the practice field today learning and growing, Raheem Morris said, along with acting like a man who “loves football” in position meetings and mingling in a positive fashion with Adrian Clayborn and Brian Price.
Raheem relayed the positive report on Albert Haynesworth at his afternoon news conference, and Raheem laughed when asked about Haynesworth’s fitness.
Reporter: Did you put [Haynesworth] through a conditioning test?”
Raheem Morris: We’re in week 8 of the season. A conditioning test in Tampa would be going out and making it through practice. (Raheem said chuckling in apparent disbelief at the question)
I don’t know if you guys came to work today but it is steaming hot out there. He had a sweatbag on. He worked through it. He took all his reps that we asked him to take. And he came off the field when he had to come off the field and drank water with the rest of his football team.
During the barrage of questions about Haynesworth, Raheem also explained that the defense experienced a “significant dropoff” without Gerald McCoy. And Raheem clarified that he saw Haynesworth as rougly a 30 snap player if he’s is in a full-time role.
Joe’s really looking forward to Sunday. What better test for Haynesworth than arguably the NFL’s best running game.

A) it is sad if mccoy is a significant loss (like beckles said – nobody can say that mccoy is a decent player right now);
B) I think AH will flourish here. What he hates and rebels against is coaching and structure and discipline – we have none of those things. In fact, we are the antithesis of those qualities.
AH may have found his structure-less paradise, one without a coach or a boss or a system or accountability. Hell, he is free to be, well, Aqib Talib.

I’m getting sick of Raheem selling players to the fans. Dammit if we aren’t buying McCoy let him prove himself. Just like Black, he called him a bully and a physically imposing player. Raheem please stop being a lemon car salesman because you’re hanging yourself. I don’t care about anything except production and none of the players you hype are producing. Period.

Architek, what do you expect Raheem to do? Mope around the building all day with a grudge against ownership like Sparano does down in Miami? He’s lose his job in about five minutes flat.
Coaches nowadays are required to sell the team to the public. That’s a major part of their job. Our job as educated fans is learning how to read between the lines and look past the salesmanship.
I know Quincy Black sucks, you know he sucks, everyone on this site knows he sucks. We don’t need Raheem to tell us that.

Thank you FLBoy. Some people really don’t understand that this is a business. Can anyone imagine what would happen if Raheem came out and said “so and so is a bust, so and so is a sorry arse.”?

Haynesworth was not all that bad in New England. He had better stats then one of their linemen.
And Thomas, perhaps Talib can turn Albert on to the joy of smacking cab drivers heads ?
