Williams A Question Mark For Sunday

While Saints cornerback Tracy Porter lay on the Superdome turf with a serious neck injury Sunday, Mike Williams, the guy he collided with early in the first quarter, was banged up as well.
Williams stayed in the game and battled to the finish. Joe assumed Williams was fine, but Raheem Morris isn’t so sure, so he said last night on The Raheem Morris Show on WDAE-AM 620.
Raheem said Williams had a significant thigh bruise and will try his best to be ready for Sunday.
The Bucs can’t afford to be without Williams for any significant length of time, if they have designs on the playoffs. However, Joe would be very curious to see the receiving corps for a game without him. More action for the rest of the group could very well provide a spark.

Haynesworth cut by the Pats. Do the Bucs put a bid in? He’s obviously a diva, but are the Bucs in the position to be that choosy about DTs given McCoy’s injury? I really don’t know…

Are you KIDDING ME…a thigh bruise? Shouldn’t it be a requirement for a player to have to play hard FIRST before claiming to be hurt? A broken leg is understandable…but a thigh bruise? At 4-4…he should be out there helping us to get to 5-4.

Honestly…..the way he is playing, maybe a healthy scratch wouldnt be a bad thing. Parker and Briscoe have been outplaying him when given opportunities.
Remember, we the fans and media annoited Williams a rockstar. Last year could be a fluke (Mike Clayton example), dont get me wrong, im not hoping for that, I would love to see Williams get back on track, but im not opposed to seeing the other guys get a good hard look.

It shouldn’t take an injury to Mike Williams for Benn to see more playing time, that’s for damn sure.

Williams will play. There is a small spot called the Iliac Crest on the hip where he got hit. It is painful and creates a large, nasty bruise, but you can play with it.

Leave him out for a game. Lets see what we got. I’m almost off his bandwagon. The guy couldnt catch a cold in the rain. Maybe hes the best route runner but he’s definently not the best catcher.

Mike Williams is playing terrible. He needs to sit out next game, regardless of the seriousness of his injury.
Mike Williams 100% is what we need, nothing less.

I love it when fans question the toughness of an NFL player. These are probably the same fans who don’t go to the games because of the heat.
