“Kind Of Followed Josh Around Like A Little Kid”
November 6th, 2011LeGarrette Blount’s going to get plenty of high-pressure work on third down today in New Orleans, and No. 27 says a big part of what got him ready to be a full-time back in the Bucs’ too-complex-for-an-outsider system was his lockout regimen.
“I kind of followed Josh [Freeman] around like a little kid,” Blount said of how he spent his time during the asinine lockout. “Every time he went out to throw passes I was there.”
Kudos to Blount for taking his craft seriously. He opened up Friday night on Total Access on WDAE-AM 620.
Blount said he could have played against Chicago but ultimately believes it was wise for him to sit out because he’s now “100 percent.”
As for learning the Bucs system early in his Tampa Bay career, Blount said a big part of challenge was clearing his head of what he had learned in Tennessee Titans camp.
On a lighter note, Blount said that during the bye week he went “all-in” on a massive family soul food feast including his mother’s sweet potato pie and red velvet cake. He also challenged Mike Williams to put up his mother’s “Buffalo soul food” versus Florida soul food.
Blount admitted he was a huge Dolphins fans growing up and claimed bobody on the Bucs will dare to play him on Madden. While playing Madden, Blount said he runs the ball 80 percent of the time, largely handing the ball off to himself and throwing himself screens.

This is a good young man the Bucs have in the backfield..normal guy who knows value of hard work. Go get those ‘Aints! Give em a dose of BlountForceTrauma!

Haha Olson sucks.. Just watch Blount catch a couple screens over the next few weeks and turn them into huge plays. Maybe that will make Ollie realize that the few playmakers on our team need to see the field more. (Blount, Rejus)

well he is kind being treated like a little kid,Blount, on Tuesdays….he needs an immediate bump in salary…not the BIG ONE….but an increase with no strings attached…a good will bridge to tide things over until his next contract

I know this is off subject, but watching NFL Network and listening to Contract disputes out there. If we truly are 1 year from being super bowl contenders. And this happens to be the year to actually sign a couple nice FA’s.
Looks like for a secondary RB. We may have some pretty nice options to choose from. Chris Johnson, Matt Forte, and Peyton Hillis. Anyone of those 3 would be a very very nice pick up. Tho, CJ2k may ask for to much money and not like to be the alternate to Blount. Forte is all around the best RB especially for 3rd and passing downs. Hillis is struck with the Madden curse and looks like he will be let go regardless this off season. So he may be a good pick up for cheap and would be a very nice hard nose FB with LGB.
As for WR help. All we really need is a deep threat speedy guy. Maybe we should look at DeSean Jackson. I hear he is still looking for a contract. And he is a Big Play waiting to happen.
Now for DB/CB help. I would suggest Grabbing Asante Samuels from the Eagles, Draft a Stud CB out of the Draft, and move Rhonde Barber to Safety in place of Jones.
This would allow us to use the Draft STRICTLY for O-Line and LB help. And make us lethal on both sides of the ball.
Hillis @ FB
Forte @ RB
D. Jackson @ WR
Samuels @ CB
Barber @ Safety
It’s a nice little wish list, I feel is reasonable enough to actually be a reality if that is the direction we want to head. Good YOUNG players And looks like pieces that can put us over the top.

Tampa could sure use a weapon like Matt Forte 941.
Like Jeff Carlson just posted, we need a back or slot receiver with speed to occupy the safety, and help Mike Williams get open more often.
It is going to be interesting to see where Tampa goes in this years draft.

Yes Chicago will probably let Forte leave…he is only a tiny part of their offense after all…..

Dude 941 Bucs, are you really talking free agency? C’mon man. Talk about the game today, or the game next week or the week after, I mean it’s the middle of the season and you wanna talk about free agency?
There is no chance Forte leaves the Bears, no chance Chris Johnson leaves the Titans and picking up Hillis would be pointless, why would he agree to go some where and play fullback? Samuels is older, that’s not happening. I don’t have a reason for saying Desean won’t be coming to us, but he just won’t be.
