Peter King Expects A Beatdown By Saints
November 3rd, 2011Popcorn-munching, coffee-slurping, fried chicken-eating, oatmeal-loving, beer-guzzling Peter King has issued predictions for this week’s NFL games and King foresees the Bucs being repeatedly kneed in the groin by Drew Brees and the Saints, 33-17.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-3) at New Orleans Saints (5-3)
The Saints will come out angry, after suffering a legit beatdown at the hands of the winless Rams last week. Drew Brees doesn’t look like he can ever be angry, but just watch. On cue from Sean Payton, Brees will have another intergalactic day.
If the Bucs cannot get more than 17 points on the Saints with the worst rush defense in the league, then there should be serious questions about the direction of the Bucs.
Could the Saints beat the Bucs? Of course. Just as easily, the Bucs can thrash the Saints.
If there is a blowout by the Saints as King suggests, quite a few people at One Buc Palace would need to take a good, long look in the mirror Sunday night.

I wonder what he’s gonna say when we end up winning? Saints beat them selves? Bucs just got lucky? it was because Peyton’s in the box? When will this guy at least give a little credit?
We’ve been playing HORRIBLY the first half of the season. Even i agree to that. YET, we are still on pace to take the lead in the division. We’ve already gotten 2 solid wins against ATL and NO. If we can get our faces out of our jock straps and play. Finish the season solid. Then i can chalk this season up as a success.

Well, you KNOW the national media is going to think the way King does on this game.
The odds of beating the Saints three times in a row including two in their dome with the team they have alone are daunting.
But the game itself on Sunday has a chance to be HUGE for the young Buccaneers who are coming off a bye and a big disappointment themselves.
IMO they have the talent and match up well with the Saints, particularly with LaGarrette Blount back in the fold.
Can’t WAIT!

Who cares? Isn’t this the same idiot that said we would only win two games last year
November 3rd, 2011 at 4:10 pm
Man…i cant wait for sunday!
Has any team in NFC South swept two other teams? Im propably dreamin’, but if we sweep ATL and NO. WOW! That would be sweeeeeet….
It WILL be a tough game for the Bucs. They will be pissed from loosing to the Rams. Bucs MUST play mistake-free football, no stupid penalties please.
November 3rd, 2011 at 4:15 pm
If we score 17 points, Olson MUST go.
November 3rd, 2011 at 4:19 pm
I just dont get the popularity of Peter King. Yeah, maybe he is a good writer, but what is his sports background. I see him and mike florio on sunday night and i just dont really give a crap what they say. I would rather listen to Dungy or that ex patriots safety. If fact, that whole show just sucks. It is too polished, and tired. I would bet that pro football players dont respect those guys all that much as well……True definition of talking heads.

I know, because Olson is the QB right? Oh wait…maybe he’s the RB..or the O-line…wide receiver???? C’mon…I know he has to be playing on Sunday to take the heat if the Bucs only score 17. After all, he IS responsible for the way the Bucs execute……’rolleyes’

What King said is pretty much common knowledge to anyone not wearing pewter colored glasses.

Hey Joe, should i get the mirror ready for Sunday night.
final score 38-24 Saints.
its very unlucky that the Saints got a beatdown by the rams.

16-point victory is a bit high.
Sagarin ratings would put the expected differential at about 12 points, and the line is Saints by 7.5 or so.
So King is overstating things a bit. I’d put the chances of a Bucs win at around 20-25%. I’d also say that the odds of the Bucs losing by 16 (like King says) or more is about the same as the odds of the Bucs winning the game.
But all that said, this would be an awesome win to get with respect to helping our playoff chances. Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!

WTF kind of language is this? I don’t care how pissed off the Aints are, if the bucs pound the rock, and we get enough pressure on Brees, then they’ll be crying all next week too.
Peter King just appeals to the masses, and tries to be funny, except he’s often wrong and not funny at all. Screw him.
November 3rd, 2011 at 5:17 pm
I don’t listen to King anymore. He just says too many ridiculous things. The Falcons are winning the Super Bowl this year? Really Peter? Really?
If Blount gets 25+ carries and we get in Brees’ face we’ll be in business.

Wow lol I just read a few of the comments and am pretty suprised. How can Buc fans be negative going into this game? I mean, I know some of the commenters on this site are incredibly negative 24/7 about the team, but this week? We’ve got a healthy Blount, healthy Gerald, healthy Faine, healthy T-Jack, healthy Foster and we’re coming off a bye against the Saints, who we beat down in our house WITHOUT all those guys.
Buc Realist, what’s so unlucky about them getting beat down by the Rams? Steven Jackson ran wild on a SOFT Saints run defense and the Rams took advantage of the Saints bad O line. Same formula we used.
I’m not guaranteeing a win or anything, but jesus guys, can we please be positive for once? This websites comment section is so dejecting to read sometimes because of the ignorance of some of the posters.
Go Bucs.

Peter King is an absolute moron when it comes to football knowledge. I feel great about our chances now. King is always slurping the Falcons and Saints just before they fall apart. fwiw I picked the Saints to win the SB 2 years ago.
November 3rd, 2011 at 6:35 pm
All I know is we have a chance to stick the dagger in the Saints and we gotta find a way do it.
Also Blount. Blount. More Blount. Even more Blount.

Bucs have won two in a row in New Orleans, just got healthy off a bye week, got their best offensive player back and best defensive player back (both were missing when they beat the Saints 3 weeks ago). The Bucs likely used a good portion of the bye week getting their star-QB back in sync, who played his best game of the year against this team.
The Saints on the other hand, have lost 2 of 3, 2 in a row at home to the Bucs and got manhandled against a winless team. Their OLine couldn’t block (and is more banged up) and their QB has been giving the ball away in big spurts.
That being said, I expect the Saints to play far better this week at home… find a way to make this a game. If the Bucs used their bye week wisely, this will be a very competitive game, not a blow out like that blow hard, Peter King predicted.

There we go guys, glass half full, positivity! I love it, go Bucs.
November 3rd, 2011 at 8:31 pm
The Saints get beat up by the power run. We get Blount back, but our best pulling guard is questionable. I don’t see them running that power O with Ted Larson in there.
Can’t wait to see Blount get the Graham checkdowns now.

Peter is a fat f**k fiil in the rest.

King should be on Espn, bc he is a knuckleheaded fool.
