The Worst Beatdown

In case you watched this ugly alley-beating of a game to the bitter end, you witnessed the worst beatdown in Bucs history.
Well, at least tied for the worst beatdown.
Losing 48-3 to Alex Smith and the 49ers tied the worst loss in Bucs history. The other ugly loss came against the Raiders in 1999 when the Bucs were shut out 44-0.
The difference in this game and the last time the Bucs were chain-whipped like this? This team does not have Warren Sapp. This team does not have Derrick Brooks. This team does not have John Lynch.
How good of a leader is Josh Freeman or Gerald McCoy? We’ll find out in a week when the Bucs host the NFC South-leading New Orleans Saints.

Joe- This is exactly the point. The Bucs showed in 99 that even a team that can take it all the way to the NFC championship can be involved in a fluke blowout. Next week will show that is all this was. New Orleans defense has been horrendous this year and Freeman\Blount will look to rebound in a big way.

That being said- Freeman needs to alter his decision making process because he has clearly become to loose with the ball. Its time for him to reign it in and be a bit more of a game manager. He is pressing right now and its leading to poor decisions.

49ers didn’t have the running game till G. McCoy got hurt. But our pass defense were just awful, Corey Lynch is a special team player. I want T-Jax!

BTW all you kneejerk fans- this is still the youngest team in the NFL. Let them play and learn. Let them gain experience. Rome wasn’t built in a day and the Eagles are proving the Dan Snyder rout doesn’t work. And unfortunately for the eagles Jason Babin, Nnamdi Asomugha, Cullen Jenkins and the rest of their 30 year old+ dream team aren’t getting any younger while the Bucs “youngry” core of great draft picks have yet to play their best football. The future is bright so let the haters enjoy their week of crowing about how “they told us so” even though the Bucs already had their “signature win” against the Falcants.
The 49ers outchemed us all the way today. That can happen when a coach comes from the college ranks and NFL d-coordinators don’t have had time to solve him. Next week vs. the Aints is a different story. Raheem knows all about what they want to do and how to stop it. And their front seven is a joke compared to San Fran. Like I said enjoy your week of crowing haters because Josh Freeman will finish what Cam Newton started next Sunday.

Freeman and Mc Coy leaders no question about that they are.. This a poorly coached team period.Start at the TOP Morris and Dominic no D coordinator un proven OC with former head coaches play book. No depth next man up??? next coach and g.m. up please!!!

Did anyone see any evidence of any Half-time adjustments? The 49’ers ran every play in the second half as they did in the first half. And nothing was any different on the D side of the ball. While Joe & BHR are loving on McCoy, I think that Clayborn shows every game that he is going to be a force at DE. That kids motor never stops. I won’t mention which hole that the 49’ers chose to run the ball over and over again with success. There is a lot of young talent on this this team. And when we get a real Head Coach they will be good for years to come.

I feel that some coach needs to pay the price for yesterday’s debacle. The team looked unprepared and looked like they didn’t make adjustments. The 49’ers were practically calling their play out of the huddle.
