Peter King: Bucs No. 7 In NFL
October 3rd, 2011Oatmeal-loving, popcorn-shoveling Peter King, of Sports Illustrated fame, is out with his weekly rankings of NFL Teams and the Bucs have climbed to No. 7.
In his Monday Morning Quarterback column on SI.com, King predicts the Bucs to win 24-9 tonight, and it seems that win already is factored in to his ranking.
7. Tampa Bay (2-1). Still feeling their way, but I’d be surprised if the Bucs didn’t rout the Colts tonight.
King’s placement puts the Bucs fifth among the 11 teams with one loss. At first glance it might seem nuts to have the Bucs that high, but considering Detroit is undefeated and the Bucs punched out Atlanta, maybe it’s on the money.
Boy, how could the Bucs pull off this kind of early success without Nnamdi Asomugha?

We woulda beat the lions if we had Sproles. Just sayin

No we wouldn’t have. Just sayin.

Nnamdi looks worse and worse every week with the Eagles.

To many of these high priced free agents are a product of a system. Even Donnie Abraham when he went to the Jets didn’t have the same success as he had with the Bucs. Good career, but still not the same. With all the signings this off season; who is really lighting it up?

Sproles is, just sayin.
FLBoy, I was being sarcastic. As I still am with this post 🙂

Michael Koenen might arguably the best free agent signing of any team this season…lol

The only thing that would’ve helped us win against the Lions is a full offseason of six months…not the one month our extremely young team had. Because of it they won’t peak for the year until around midseason in my opinion.

Asomugha is getting his butt kicked this year. The guy is playing like a rookie.

I’m going to add to the “one thing against the Detroit” talk:
One thing that could have helped us is catching the 5 dropped passes in that game. And perhaps Black already benched… Wait that’s two… There are plenty more as well.

One thing that could’ve helped us beat the lions would have been trading up to get Calvin Johnson in that draft. -.- but I still can’t judge the bucs, I’m still hesitant to say if they can make the playoffs or not because man that 5 game schedule we have is looking more and more brutal. But hopefully Freeman is on track by that point

Sproles is a great fit with NO, but I believe that he may not of had the same effect with us.
I am very happy with the stability in the Special Teams, but if we spent that many millions on kicking, it sure means that more money is available for EX Sproles.
It is ok, I am over not spending. Rather, I am hoping the Bucs keep on winning, so ownership can’t answer with, “We are rebuilding…Free Agents will be brought in when we are a contender…” Let’s win 11 games, go to the playoffs, and put the “ball” in the owner’s court and see if they open their wallets for team enhancement through the ways of FA?

Lets be real for a second.. stop looking at records and making assumptions about teams.. other than yesterdays win the 49ers havent beaten anybody good. And we cant even call the Eagles good because they really havent done much this first month of football. the 49ers beat the Seahawks, bengals, and eagles none of the teams are that great. As long as the bucs can play turnover free football we should be good going into week 5. Tune in tonight and watch greatness unfold Go BUCS

If we are so fortunate as to make it to the playoffs this year (which I think we will), I would love to get another crack at Detroit. I think we will be much better than them late in the year. I don’t care what record they finish with, I don’t think they win a game in the playoffs. I would much rather play a team with no playoff experience, especially since we have, you know, no playoff experience.
As for tonight’s game, I’m going on suicide watch if we lose. Just sayin’

A;; NFL teams are good…Do not discount wins by anyone.
