Raheem Won The Gamble

It was quite a ballsy call for Raheem Morris to go with the onsides kick call after LeGarrette Blount’s 27-yard touchdown rumble put the Bucs on the board and cut the Vikings lead to 17-7.
If Elbert Mack doesn’t dive on that ball, the momentum the Bucs had finally wrestled back would have almost vanished. But Raheem pulled the trigger and the Bucs won the gamble. Sure, Josh Freeman tossed an ugly pick in the end zone a few minutes later, but it was a key play in the game and adding to the Bucs momentum and confidence.
On that note, the Bucs’ special teams have been pretty darn stellar over the first two games.

I think our young Tampa players finally found themselves this game. It was an awesome come from behind win in a game that could have sent us back to Tampa as 2 game losers.
Let’s HOPE 1/2 the city of Tampa shows up to sell out the Atlanta game next Sunday.

Onside kick did not “cut the the lead to 17-7”. It was done after we scored the first touchdown, and we did not score on the subsequent drive because Freeman threw a Pic. It was essentially meaningless. Someones a bit tipsy, me thinks.

BTW…who’s panicking about Mason Foster now? Eh? All the guy did today was lead the Bucs with 10 tackles, 1 sack and 1 forced fumble. In only his second game ever, after only have a month of training camp instead of the normal six months of offseason work. How ya like them apples, baby? Yeah!

Read bro lol. That’s not what Joe wrote at all.
The point Joe’s making is that the sheer momentum gained by successfully executing the onside was a turning point in the game. As a fan I myself was woken up out of my own malaise with the game right after the touchdown and started really getting emotionally involved with the game right after the onside kick. It made me believe we could actually come back.

Bisaccia’s got SD’s special teams playing up to last year’s level — started off last week’s game by giving up KO return touchdown that also got their kicker injured for the season.

EVERY time I start thinking Raheem is not right in the football head he goes and pulls something awesome.
Not only was it a gutsy call, but the formation and execution was incredible. Is it okay to say his balls have balls?

Speaking of Beasts, I REALLLLLLLLY hope Price goes on to a long and healthy career, because he truly will be a force in the middle.
As far as the onside kick call: outstanding!!!!!! Risky… yes, but the right call. They just had a TD drive and ran the ball well for the first time this year really. The worst thing that could happen was for MN to get the ball and answer. Even though Freeman made a bad throw in the endzone for the pick, they continued to move the ball and found their confidence.

It was the right call because it worked, let’s not kid ourselves. I loved it, but if it didn’t work, half the people that are praising the call would be screaming for Raheem’s head. Can you imagine all the posts from Thomas?
