Bucs rookie Anthony Gaitor
It seems the Bucs are falling in love with another seventh round pick. This time it’s rookie secondary man Anthony Gaitor.
As Myron Lewis is hurt again and rookie Ahmad Black is sidelined for who knows how long with a high ankle sprain, Gaitor is shining on all levels, so said Raheem Morris yesterday.
“To stand up on his first third down [in Kansas City] and get a knocked down pass for his first time out. Come out and get a sack. Run around looking really fast, dynamic. Having fun. I don’t think anyone has more fun than Gaitor, ” Raheem Morris said yesterday. “He’s fun. He’s smart. He’s probably our only rookie learning two positions.”
Joe has to wonder about Black’s status with the Bucs if he can’t play during the rest of the preseason.

Weird, I was in KC and watched the game, along with warmups. Ahmad Black was dressed and warming up, next thing you know hes hurt? whats going on here?

Anthony Gaitor sure din’t seem smart in the “Get to Know Anthony Gaitor” video on the bucs website. He seemed downright ignorant.
That isn’t to say dumb people can’t play football…but unless he was having an off day, he seemed amazingly mentally slow in the interview.

Good lord, its amazing how someone who plays as little as Myron Lewis can constantly be injured. Plus, we just picked up a new free agent C.B. From what I hear, they like Lewis, but he’s like a race car…always needs to be repaired after the event.

C’mon Pete, that’s an unfair swipe at the kid. Some of these kids have come a long way to get to where they are. I would hope that you would want him to make the best of this opportunity to better himself in all phases of life. I can only imagine what you said about Cadillac Williams.

A high ankle sprain on a DB, sounds like IR for Black. Too bad, I expected him to be a good special teams guy this year.
As for Gaitor…. reading about his college career since the draft, he seems like he could be a real good CB in the Bucs system.

It’d be really sad to see Ahmad get cut/go on I.R., but I wouldn’t count on either. A high ankle sprain in the first game of preseason shouldn’t warrant I.R.

For everyone hatin on Mack .. You are just clueless and Hatin to hate… Mack is actually a pretty good Dime Back. If you compared to the last CB on each teams roster he is probably more aggressive and hits harder than most of them.

jvato24- I don’t think Mack is a bad fifth corner either. I don’t know what people exactly expect from a fifth corner. Gaitor is every bit the 5′ 9″ 175lb pipsqueak that Mack is. He may look good in preseason but so has Mack so far. Neither one of these guys has the size or strength to cover big outside recievers. They are both career dime back types either way you look at it.

Well during the draft mayock almost had an orgasm talking about the kid. I’m not the least bit surprised. Here’s hoping Dom has found yet another late round gem.

-I hate this argument. What OTHER teams have (talent wise) is completely irrelevant. And BTW, while #33 is indeed aggressive and willing to hit, those qualities matter little when he’s on the ground after being twisted around by a 4th team WR.-

-I’ll tell you what I expect: I expect that a 5th CB keep his feet when covering a WR. I expect that he not make the opponents’ 3rd and 4th teamers the OBVIOUS go-to guy on 3rd down. I expect more than #33 can give. For this roster, he’s easily upgraded. #39 will make the team, and it’s my guess that yet another young CB will make it, as well.
