Davin Joseph “Ready To Stay”
July 28th, 2011Joe cannot ever remember putting up a live post after midnight.
Today is a first, and part of the reason is Joe’s traffic is simply blowing up this week. Hell, there are daily newspapers in America that don’t get the daily traffic Joe is getting now, and he humbly thanks all of his readers.
Anyway, Davin Joseph broke bread with Bucs brass last night (more on that later this morning) and apparently Bucs rock star general manger Mark Dominik and coach Raheem Morris brought a special guest: new offensive line coach Pat Morris, per Joesph’s Twitter feed just after midnight.
@DavinJoseph75: Positive vibes!! I love the new Bucs oline coach! … I’m going to bed but no deal yet. I’m ready for a long term deal. … My guy @jeremyTRUEblood is ready to stay. That means I’m ready to stay.
This is very good news. Joseph has made no bones about the fact he wanted to remain in Tampa Bay, told Joe himself down at Josh Freeman’s minicamp in Bradenton earlier this month.
If Joseph wants to play for the Bucs, and is hitting if off with Pat Morris, this tells Joe it is merely a matter of hours before Joseph signs a pact with the Bucs.

I wonder how Dom explained the push for Doug Free last night. Hopefully Pat Morris can bring his success in the run game to Tampa.

Im sure he will be great, and yeah hopefully he can help the run game so Blount can rush for yards like Peterson.

Count me in as one of those rabid fans that can’t stop checking this site for the last couple of days. I’ve been sick as a dog for a few days and have nothing better to do than follow every tidbit of info on my Bucs at just about the best time for NFL news in the last 5 months.. so here I am.
Ive been checking the site like a crack addict looking for a fix for the last few days.

Check the site 1st thing when I wake up and last thing at night and quite a few times in between.
What do you expect joe when you do such a fine job of keeping us informed ahead of all the rest.
Keep up the good work, it’s well appreciated. 🙂

Why does davin insist on keeping trueblood as well? He knows better than anyone how bad he plays.
July 28th, 2011 at 6:59 am
I love the way Joesph looks out for his bud Trueblood. This evidently is one hardcore friendship. Regardless of how this turns out, it’s somewhat refreshing to see given what we typically see in our “me first” society. I hope this works out for both these guys and doesn’t end up as a case of fatal embrace. With the Bucs just coming out on the losing end of a tussle over Doug Free, I’m not optomistic.

So that means that DunderheadTrueblood in returning as well?
I can see it now, Bucs on the opposing teams 20 yardline. It’s 3 & 5. Blount get the ball off tackle. He burst threw the line to the 10, to the 5, TD Bucs! Oh wait there’s a flag!
HOLDING #65 10-yard penalty!
DOH!

Mr Lucky, you are way off base,,,it would be a personal foul or a false start…
July 28th, 2011 at 7:59 am
I think the Bucs will sign Joseph and Trueblood for the sake of getting Joseph. Trueblood gets cut in a year.
July 28th, 2011 at 8:21 am
Anybody else remember the deal with Dennis Rodman when he was playing in the nba? He had that horrible, unathletic Jack Haley go with him to just about every NBA desitination despite the fact he was among the worst players of all-time. It was a package deal, if you signed the rebounding king, you had to bring aboard Haley, Rodman’s closest bud.
Is Joseph good enough to make Jeremy Trueblood the NFL’s version of Jack Haley?
July 28th, 2011 at 8:24 am
I think our young OTs will get much better in their second year so perhaps if we don’t sign anybody else, we’ll improve in that area anyways.
Hopefully, Joseph will be back… even if it’s a package deal with him and Jac.. Jeremy Trueblood.

Joe here,
@Brandon — You’ve warmed Joe’s heart with an old memory. (One Joe anyway). Stiff good-for-nothing but fouls Jack Haley wasn’t always with Rodman. He soiled the 12th man spot on the Nets bench for many years. Trueblood ain’t that bad.

I had to be up at that there crossroads last midnight, to sell my soul to the devil.
July 28th, 2011 at 9:15 am
Thank you Joe!

Great news. I expect to hear about the Joseph deal TODAY and probably a Trueblood deal as well.
I know many want a big splash (and maybe at another position it would not have been a bad thing) but the continuity on the O-Line is going to prove huge.
Trueblood is a decent RT and might not even start. Biggest problem was the penalties and those have gotten better.
Getting Joseph back was a HUGE priority, even though some around here think he was not that great.
NEWSFLASH: Jospeh is the best run blocker on the Bucs and now they are going to a pure power running blocking scheme – his strength.
This is a very good, young and deep O-Line.
Now I just want to hear about a LB or DT signing

For every Abbott, there is a Costello!

Good personally I wanted both of these guys back. Also wanted to say thanks to Joe as well. I always check this site first because I know that if I see a story on so-and-so signing its true and not just another rumor or someone grasping at straws. Thanks again for the hard work Joe!
