Are fans falling in love with the Bucs?
In what has to be viewed as a surprise considering the Miami Dolphins’ long history and status as the first NFL team in Florida, a recent poll shows the Buccaneers as Florida residents’ favorite professional sports team in the state.
Commissioned by the North Carolina-based Public Policy Polling outfit, an established left wing political pollster, about 850 people were surveyed and 17 percent picked the Bucs as their favorite in-state club.
The Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars checked in at 16 percent. The Miami Heat got 14 percent, followed by the Rays and Orlando Magic with 11 percent. The Lightning scraped up 4 percent.
Sure, the accuracy of the data is reported to be roughly +/- 3 percent. But as Antonio Bryant used to say, “Film don’t lie.” The Bucs are Florida’s favorite team.
A deeper look at the data shows women, those ages 30 to 45, and those who classified themselves as “very conservative” trended toward picking the Bucs.
Joe’s hoping this all translates into ticket sales sometime soon.

It has been going down steadily since 2008. Also, in a shocking inconsistency those polled dont go to games as evidenced by the 2010 100% blackout record. Stay tuned serial blackouts will continue.

Good now lets get past the lockout so we can gey past the blackouts , I would emagine some teams will be looking at bigger markets to increase profits after new labor deal is reached, lets show our boys full support , see you at the games laddies ! ! !

We are also England’s favorite team
And as far as my circle of friends, They are Rhode Islands team too…

Well, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have always been MY favorite team and my back account proves it! LOL
LOVE the Buccaneers and especially this young and talented team on the rise we have now. These are good times as far as I’m concerned, or will be when the lock-out ends in time to start the season but late enough to cancel a pre-season game and bring the London “home” game back………………HOME!!!

i live in St.Luois and i must say the Bucs r my favorite team in football! its so ard to get good news on the Bucs in the middle of the counrty, THANK GOD for this web site! i wish i could get 24 hour coverage. i made it to Tampa for a game against the Rams a few years back and it was AMAZING! i love the Bucs and im jealous of all you who live there and get the radio shows tht cover them.

Thanks Joe for keeping all of us landlocked pirates informed up here in North Dakota. Its been a while sences we lived in Tampa and its nice to know what the Bucs are doing.

Why do people always come on here and say, “It’s so hard getting Bucs news in (insert out of state location)?”
Like we think that the St. Pete Times or Tampa Trib get delivered nationally??

You have a point but think what happens during the season. I would love to have all the local insider shows you must have in Tampa. For many this site is the best we get. I live in maryland and have to deal with redskins programming all the time. In the offseason, I agree with you.
