Raheem “A Player’s Dream”
June 1st, 2011Like any free agent not mired in bitterness, blocking icon Cadillac Williams is quick to say he wants to return to his old club.
Tampa Tribune beat writer Anwar Richardson caught up with Cadillac recently and the fan favorite showered his head coach with praise and said he’d love to return for his seventh season in Tampa.
“First of all, Rah (Morris) is a standup guy. He’s a really good guy,” Williams said. “Just his coaching technique and the way he treats players, letting them go out and play and be themselves. He’s a very motivating coach. It’s really a player’s dream to play for a coach like that.”
As Joe has written before, Cadillac is a great guy for the Bucs to re-sign. However, the presence of Earnest Graham on the roster, another veteran who can also block, catch, run and lead, has got to devalue Cadillac a bit in the eyes of Mark Dominik.
Joe’s not seeing the Bucs getting into a bidding war for Cadillac, a part-time player, if the Rams or some other suitor come calling with a bigger check.

YA HEAR THAT NNAMDI?!! “letting them go out and play and be themselves.”
I much rather have a coach that can relate to players over a coach that’s just good with X’s and O’s.

Dunn bit us in the butt! We better keep him and say Thanx and goodbye to Graham!

I want a coach that produces consistent, long-term results and shows improvement each year. I don’t really care how he acts.

More and more people in the NFL are saying how good of a coach Rah is. There are only a few stupid haters on this site that feel differently.
Yea i know he isnt going to say anything bad about his coach, but the words caddy and others have used says something.
Once Rah follows last season up with a good season this year, it will be obvious he is a great coach.
One thing is for sure, these words would have never beet uttered by a player about Gru.

Cadillac and Earnest will both be back with the Bucs this year.
With the emphasis on character and leadership being placed on such a young team, both of these guys are integral to the development of our young players like Blount and Bradford. It would be a huge mistake to let them go and I think Rah and Dom both know this.
As they’ve said many times, it’s a big man’s game. The odd one out is Kareem Huggins.

Gary:
The dictatorial style of coaching used by Gruden and others is not gonna be successful anymore. The players these days won’t stand for it anymore. What we’re seeing with the lockout is a perfect example.

SSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhh…..
Don’t tell all the Raheem haters out there that every single player to play for the guy says how great he is… as a person and coach….
they would prefer to keep their head in the sand

Sabby “The Goat” and D. Ward are the only players I can remember being negative about the new regime. Rah and Dom drafted potentially the best QB in Bucs history and have turned a gutted franchise around in 2 seasons. I’d say those guys are here to stay for quite a while. Deservedly so!

I say keep Caddy! Ultimate team player and inspirational for young players!

Why can’t we keep both?

I say replace caddy with sproles or reggie bush. I would like to have a back with Great speed. Honestly we have to spend money and cadillac really is not going to be much cheaper

You make a good point, but take a look historically at the most successful coaches. They were all great motivaters.
And, I’m surprised you would say that after the Gruden experience. I will forever be greatful for the SB victory he brought us, but I completely disliked his coaching style…and so did the players.
And if the players do not like a coach, they won’t succeed for him.

Graham is history.
The Bucs drafted his replacement at FB. They don’t need him at RB. And he’s not a vocal leader. Caddy is.

Im not so convinced the bucs drafted his replacement at FB Pete. I think his replacement is already on the roster, in Lorig.
I think Bradford will get time at both RB and FB since he played both in college, but wont be anything higher than 2nd on the depth chart at either spot for a bit. His style is very similar to Blount’s, and I think he was chosen as injury insurance so that we don’t lose that identity if Blount goes down. Thus, he better be getting some reps at RB.

LeighRoy- ” so we don’t lose our identity if Blount goes down . .”
Yup, you nailed that. And that is “coach think” right there. I have come to really like Josh Johnson. But that’s my problem with him. If he replaces Freeman, we have to change all that we do as an offense. NOT the best idea!

Bradford has soft hands, and is a powerful, imposing physical specimen on the field.
I think many Tampa fans will be really surprised how good he really is.
Go toYouTube, and watch film on him. The man catches the ball, and then look out.
You have a 240 lb Monster with an attitude and near 4.5 speed coming at you.
He will be Williams replacement, just not this year.

No way Tampa will keep both Graham and Williams. Especially not with Bradford being here.
