Drafting Defensive Ends Will Help Moore, White

May 6th, 2011

After interviewing Bucs coach Raheem Morris earlier this week, heard exclusively on SiriusXM NFL Radio, co-hosts of “The Blitz,” popular sports radio host Adam Schein and former NFL quarterback Rich Gannon, were still buzzing.

The duo, who just a few short months ago were harsh critics of the Bucs, have been won over and are now singing the praises of Morris.

In fact, Gannon predicted the addition of first and second round draft choices, defensive ends Adrian Clayborn and Da’Quan Bowers, will make others on the defensive side of the ball for the Bucs that much better.

Adam Schein: Rich, when you hear Raheem Morris talk, you can’t help but get excited, you can’t help but get fired up. You want to play football.

Rich Gannon: There’s no doubt about it and I like what the Bucs did in the draft. They got no production from their defensive ends last year. Stylez White had four sacks and led the team. By adding Adrian Clayborn and Da’Quan Bowers, Stylez White and Kyle Moore will have no choice but to step up their game. Because if they don’t they will be out of a job. And if they respond like they should, that will make that defensive line all the more better when you factor in Gerald McCoy and Brian Price are coming off of injuries. That could be a very impressive defensive front.

Now we all know that Stylez White is not a practice kind of guy, which irks Morris. This got to Morris so much last year that he mocked White by referring to him as Allen Iverson.

The gauntlet has been thrown down by Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik: Either White and Moore have to prove their worth — and quickly — or they may be walking the streets asking Jerry Glanville for a gig.

Morris on White: “we’re going to tolerate him until we can replace him”

  2. Macabee Says:

The addition of Clayborn and Bowers will undoubtedly help, but the addition of Millard and Stretz will have far more impact. We currently have 11 DEs. All big, strong, young guys that have talent, but have not been taught to play NFL football. White doesn’t want to learn anymore or is too old to learn any new tricks. Let’s face it, Moore may just be another Gholston. There is going to be a winnowing or separation of the wheat from the chaff if and when training camp starts. We are going to amazed at what this defensive line is capable of doing.

  3. Dave Says:

I think both players are gone, unless they are suddenly spectacular in camp. I see Bowers, Clayborne, Crowder and Bennett being the DEs… possibly Magee because he can move in and out.

  4. k_bassuka Says:

I’m tire of seeing Stylez play and the main reason why I believe he’s the odd man out is because the new position coaches. I’m quite sure they want people that practice hard specially with a team full of youngsters, they should want those that set the example and buy into their system and that doesn’t fit with what Stylez did during past regimes.

  5. fan Says:

Best move he ever made was to change his name to get some ink.
His play got him here and he made his money, but I really think
he will not play another down in the NFL.

  6. Chris FWC :) Says:

Kyle “Demi” Moore because he’s a Ghost
Stylez “Gilligan” White, you know the G. stands for Gilligan, right?

  7. Joe Says:

Kyle “Demi” Moore because he’s a Ghost

    That’s awesome!

  8. McBuc Says:

I can see Morris hitting him with his hat now! Too funny.

  9. Jimmy Says:

Maybe if Joe Redner will ban smoking in his strip clubs it might get Teen Wolf off his ass!

  10. gotbbucs Says:

stylez needs to go bye bye. he’ll never be more than what he is right now and due to the fact that he wont practice hard, he has nothing to teach these young guys.

  11. OAR Says:

Personally, as a paranormal apparition myself, I’m offended by the use of the term “ghost”! Please consider political paranormal correctness from now on!
BTW just don’t repeat his name three times!

  12. OAR Says:

As for Stylez, I think I did see him practicing with coconuts and palm fronds!

  13. Dew Says:

@Meh. That was one great line from Rah.

Morris on White: “we’re going to tolerate him until we can replace him”

  14. Chris FWC :) Says:

    You guys made me laugh.

Correction OAR, Kyle “Demi” Moore because he’s a paranormal apparition.

Jimmy, by the looks of his tweet, his nickname could easily be Kyle “Dudley” Moore or “Dud” for short.

  15. T in Orlando Says:

    Gannon = Dunderhead
    Schein = Blowhard

I love listening to SiriusXM NFL radio, can’t stand listening to those two.

  16. BigMacAttack Says:

I think the time for “Hollywood Stylez Greg White” has come and gone. He had every opportunity to impress his coach and obviously he did not. Rah says, like his mentors, “I’ll tolerate you until I can replace you”. Guess what Stylez, you got replaced brother. Should have wanted it a little more and practiced a little harder. Moore’s time is rapidly approaching too. It’s lights out for him, or out go the lights.

I love Demi Moore, always have, always will. She is so hot, just like RW, on a scale from 1 to 10, she ranks about an 18 for me. I have to go take a shower now. Thanks.

  17. Chris FWC :) Says:

LOL @ Big Mac. She’s a hottie in my book too.

My bad Jimmy. You posted what SGW tweeted.

Ever notice when players get caught up in “s’krip”, see Pacman Jones for pronunciation, clubs their skills deminish?

You make MILLIONS playing a game SGW.
    EAT, TALK, SLEEP FOOTBALL!
For that ammount of money you could cage me in a dark closet at OBP, feed me raw meat and just let me out for practice/game day.

“Stylez” is gunna look funny on a Best Buy name tag.

  18. Pete Dutcher Says:

I would not be upset if the Bucs cut them both and signed either veterans or Undrafted Defensive Ends.

However, I would like to see if the new line coaches can do something with Moore. It’s clear that our last line coach sucked.

  19. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Moore better show something in training camp and preseason. In his defense,he has been hurt an awful lot. However, such is life for an NFL player. If you are always hurt, then why should we hold a roster spot for you? He looked so good in preseason his rookie year, so I just keep holding out hope that he will actually play well again. But it doesn’t look very good. It may be time to move on.

  20. thomas 2.2 Says:

Hawaiian: You cant even admit that Kyle Moore sucks. Stop talking you have no credibility – your believability is lower than Roger Goodell and De Smith combined. Your extremism makes rush limbaugh seem moderate even liberal by comparison. You probably think that the league should just rename the super bowl trophy the Rah Morris trophy after his amazing 13 career wins. Hey last year he even earned a second to last in the division! LOL

  21. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    Thomas,

Did you even read my post? I have no credibility? What credibility do you have? Who the hell are you to tell me that? You are a worthless nobody who has never played sports in your life.

If you read it, the only positive I said was he had a great preseason his rookie year. Did he not? He had 3 sacks. Is that not good? Granted, it is preseason, but my point was that he did show something before the injuries. If you could read, I said the injuries are a part of the game, and if he is always hurt, we can’t hold a spot for him.

Again, nobody wants you here. Go away. Again, if I am wrong, somebody correct me. We all want you to go away. Every one of us. So do us all a favor and spit your stupidity and hatred elsewhere.

  22. Hawaiian Buc Says:

It’s also great how someone who has NEVER made a positive post on this board has the nerve (and stupidity) to call me an extremist. You put words in my mouth (“you think we should rename the SB trophy”) and attack me because I didn’t say the words “he sucks”! I don’t have to do that to you, you do it to yourself with every single post. So if I am an extremist because I make positive posts, why are you any better than me because ALL your posts are negative? Let me guess, a realist?

  23. grasshopp427er Says:

i wouldn’t mid holding onto white for one more year. nothing wrong with keeping your sack leader from last year. even with the low totals he is the most productive we had. and with two unproven rookies and 1 of them having major injury concerns i think it would be wise to hold onto the guy. if the kids play well you can always have him on the bench for breathers and insurance.
