Time For Kyle Moore To Prove Himself

April 17th, 2011

When the Bucs drafted defensive end Kyle Moore two years ago, a lot was expected of him. Instead he was largely injured and had little impact on the defense.

In writing about each team’s needs in the draft, Gregg Rosenthal of ProFootballTalk.com explains just how badly the Bucs need to beef up their defensive ends, and how important it is for Kyle Moore to make some sort of impact.

G.M. Mark Dominik drafted a pair of inside guys last year. He could stand to draft a pair of pass rushers on the outside this time. Stylez White should be making Teen Wolf 3 in another city. Tim Crowder is also a free agent, which means Kyle Moore is probably their best returning guy. Yikes.

A few weeks ago Joe touched base with a trusted Bucs beat writer to ask about Moore’s job security with the Bucs. Joe was told in no uncertain terms the team is disappointed and that with new defensive line coaches, the time has come for Moore to come out of hiding or he may be looking for employment elsewhere, maybe a bit part in Teen Wolf 3?

Atleast this guy knows about the bucs and is right about Moore and white being terrible. Last few “experts” have claimed they were legit DE’s.

  2. HIRE GREG OLSON! Says:

    @Gary,

Trust me Gregg Rosenthal doesn’t know the first thing about the Bucs or the NFL that you can’t read in an Athlon Sports Annual Magazine.

Who cares about Kyle Moore. He sucks.

The real question is what the fack happened to joeboltsfan.com?? Very disappointing for this company to herald itself as the “one stop shop” for Tampa sports, yet and the bolts section hasn’t been updated since November and the playoffs have been ignored.

Guess Joe isn’t a hockey fan.

Oh well….i guess there is always BSPN.

micheal bennett was starting at the end of the year anyway….

Sadly, there is only so much time in the day. Joe is a two-headed monster and just keeping this site up, selling ads, producing copy, et al, keeps both Joes up to the wee hours of the morning often. And that’s on top of Joe’s full-time gigs, family duties, et al.

Amanda, who was doing the brunt of the work with JoeBoltsFan, went on to bigger and better things and Joe decided it best to concentrate on this site.

Sadly, Joe never made a red cent off of JoeBoltsFan. And yes, Joe’s a capitalist. Keeping a site up the way Joe wants it takes a great deal of effort and time. Between the two Joes, we put in no less than 16 hours a day on this very site.

Joe reached out to a few people to help with JoeBoltsFan, but the interest from said parties wasn’t there.

Sad as it is that JoeBoltsFan died in a playoff year — it may come back to life at some point — Joe doesn’t regret his decision to concentrate on this blog.

The traffic that JoeBoltsFan got was just a fraction of what JoeBucsFan gets. To devote more time to JoeBoltsFan and reduce time worked on JoeBucsFan simply wasn’t smart business. The steady growth in traffic Joe gets from this site reinforces our decision.

Kyle Moore has no where to go but up I guess…

  7. JDouble Says:

I’ll be truly amazed…and disappointed if Kyle Moore makes the final 53 man roster this year. He is garbage.

  8. Joe Says:

    JDouble:

Moore will make the roster. But this will be his last chance.

  9. Capt.Tim Says:

Some harsh fans! It takes the majority of NFL rookie DL two to three years to really play up to their talent level, so all hope is not lost for Kyle Moore.
Buuuuut, most guys show some flash, a Lil talent along the way. Our brother Kyle hasn’t show a flash of great talent waiting to materialize. So far he’s shown nuthin!

New coaches may help. Personally, I think he’s done this preseason

  10. Tom Says:

The 2010 version of Kyle Moore will not make the team next year.

    Mark it down.

  11. BigMacAttack Says:

Go Lightning, 7:30 tomorrow night @ the SPTF in living color!!!

  12. Architek Says:

    Joe,
What makes you so confident that he will be on the final 53? His draft status? I ask because if it comes down to a numbers game and someone is deserving of a spot that looks more promising then Moore is out. Wouldn’t you agree.

  13. J.Harvin5585 Says:

He is career back up player personally I’m not to high on pac 10 defensive players I the big homie brian price proves me wrong I hope

  14. Mr. Lucky Says:

Hey Joe I’ve got a solution – hire Kyle Moore to run JoeBoltsfan.com after he gets cut from the Bucs!

  15. JDouble Says:

Kyle Moore was garbage in college and he’s garbage now. I don’t know what they thought they saw but it was probably the worst pick in this regime’s two year draft history. I sure hope they have better luck at drafting DEs this year.

Stylez White is gone, but Alex Magee looked solid towards the end of the year, plus we have Crowder, and Bennett. Doug Worthington was promoted to the 53 at the end of last season too. We also have George Johnson and EJ Wilson on our practice squad. We will most likely draft at least one DE, probably two. There is a good chance we pick up a DE in free agency as well.

Including Kyle Moore, that is about 10 DEs on the roster. We’ll keep 4 or 5 tops. There will be much competition this year at DE so despite your certainty Joe….Kyle Moore’s spot on this year’s roster is far from a sure thing.

    Joe here

@JDouble, somone is using your name at another Bucs website and insulting Joe. It would be pretty lame if it’s actually you.

  17. Joe Says:

    Hey JDouble:

Since Joe’s such a hack and never broke a story before (WRONG!), feel free to stay with the Romper Room.

    [Trigger pulled on the hatch.]
