“He Could Go Off The Deep End”
April 14th, 2011Who knew Ron Jaworski was a shrink? Maybe all that crying by Dick Vermeil inspired him.
Or maybe “Jaws” stayed at a Holiday Inn Express during his recent Tampa visit.
Regardless, Jaws is deeply concerned about Aqib Talib and thinks the Bucs need to show him extra love and care, so he told esteemed NFL writer eye-RAH Kaufman of The Tampa Tribune
Among other things, Jaws said Raheem Morris needs to give Talib more support.
“I think if you give up on a guy like this, and this is the human side of this situation, Talib could be worse off,” said Jaworski, in Tampa Bay recently for an ESPN shoot. “He could go off the deep end if he doesn’t have football, if he doesn’t have structure in his life.”
Of course, Joe agrees that Talib is close to the “deep end” and seems to swim in it quite a bit.
But Joe thinks Jaws is out of his mind. What the hell are the Bucs supposed to do, pay bodyguards to shadow Talib 24/7? And would that really help anyway?
Talib hit a teammate with a deadly weapon with Buccaneers within reach. He pummeled a cabbie with Buccaneers at arms length. He went after an official with Buccaneers around. And he launched a profanity tirade at his head coach in England.
Sure, with this latest episode of Talib allegedly playing cowboy vigilante in Texas, maybe a bodyguard would have served him well. But the point is Talib must exercise some discipline and get himself full-time counseling, if he doesn’t have it already.
The Bucs can’t be expected to have his back any more than they already have.

Here Here!
I like Jaws. But he’s simply trying to give some tear-jerking line of reasoning for that poor soul Talib. Jaws need not worry. Talib will put his great football skills to use just as other retired NFL-ers have.

“College” players will be DYING to get in the league just so they can have structure in their life’s. SHOOT, at that rate why doesn’t NRA and the NFL combine forces and promote GUN control??
Gun control is putting the gun down and fighting with your fists like an F’n MAN!
Men aren’t MEN anymore! Buncha slack-jawed Kobe’s.

Talib needs a shrink. Dude has serious anger issues.

Blimey, Talib! You bloody wanker, you!
I’m just brushing up on my English slang, since were going to England again!

Jaws is off his rocker. Talib needs a hard smack upside the head and a double shot of reality. Sadly that might come with an orange jumpsuit.

Personally I think Jaws is right about Talib.
The Bucs should hire that St. Petersburg cabbie full time to shadow Aquib. That way when Talib goes off he’s got a human punching bag available.
As for the cabbie- he’ll make more letting Talib whack him than driving cab.

The Bucs need to KICK his AZZ out hte door…..
let some other team be associated with the “turn around story”…..
No time for LOSERS !

Didn’t Raheem want the D to be more violent? I don’t see what the big deal is here…..

Couldn’t agree more.
But, Jaws is pretty sharp and as so many have said, the Bucs will probably keep him around, but I hope they FORCE him into long term counseling of some sort. It may just make him angrier. When you earn Millions $$$, what’s there to be angry about? Usually when we get angry, we get stupid. I know I do, but not near as bad as when I was his age. The moral is don’t get caught and learn from the mistakes of others.
Lucky, Aqib needs a Custom Padded Kevlar cab, so when he gets mad he can just go shoot up and punch the cab. No harm no foul, and what’s behind closed doors stays.

If Talibs sister is anything like him and his mother, well then it sure is hard to blame poor Mr Billings!
Just like many claimed that the cab driver deserved it… imagine dating Talibs sister? SHEEEESH!!!

You people are crazy. Who saved the game against the Bengals. Without that late int we would have lost. He had 2 picks against the cardinals and a TD mind you we won by 3 points. This guy is a stud and until he does something that eliminates him permanently from the field he will be a buc and a probowler

“Talib hit a teammate with a deadly weapon with Buccaneers within reach. He pummeled a cabbie with Buccaneers at arms length. He went after an official with Buccaneers around. And he launched a profanity tirade at his head coach in England.”
It sure seems like someone is over-exaggerating Talib’s past….

Yeah Talib won us the Arizona and Bengal games. The pick against the Ravens set us up to take the lead, which the offense failed to do. Aqib Talib is the best player on the Bucs defense easily. When Talib was out we let Drew Stanton and the Lions come into our house and win their first road game in years! And imagine a 200lb corner getting into with big ol Donald Penn, I’d probably grab something close and swing it also!!

Hell he did not win the Bengals game for us …..that dumb ass Starvin Marvin should have never called a pass play in the first place. That said get him a full time babysitter like the Cryboys did Pacman.

Any player that would need some sort of full time chaperone is NOT worth the trouble. We survived without him at the end of last year, we will find his replacement and be fine without him in the future. It’s a shame. It’s sad. But it’s not our problem. He’s a grown man that needs to start acting like one. Him and Tanard can go and have a contest about who will be suspended first. It’s not just about performance, it’s about reliability. We can’t count on these guys to be here when we need them because there is always a chance they will do somethign stupid and get suspended. Not fair to all the other players on the team busting their ass to win a Super Bowl. cut him. Lick your wounds and move on. We’ll miss his talent, but we won’t miss his problems.
