What About The Fans?

March 8th, 2011

Though this isn’t about the Bucs, this FoxSports.com video is about the NFL. Popular radio personality Adam Schein rants about how the fans are being squeezed out of the game as the NFL owners and the NFLPA quarrel over $9 billion.

I like Adam but the business side is always ugly….. We always get caught in the middle.

    Joe,

If the owners lock-out the players before the draft, would teams still be allowed to make draft-day trades?(allowed to trade picks not players or players as well?)

  3. Joe Says:

    Nick P:

Trades can be made for the draft but only draft picks can be traded. There can be no player transactions until there is a CBA agreement if there is a lockout.

  4. Nick P Says:

    Good info. Thank you, sir.

Tiki Barber has filed the papers to come out of retirement. Question: If the Giants cut him loose, should the Bucs bring him in for a year?

Before answering, consider this…he retired in 2006. He has been several years without taking hits. How sweet would it be to have both Barbers on the same team the last year Ronde plays?

I am in no way saying the man should be a starter, but he would be a great mentor for Blount as a backup.

Just throwing it out there 😉

Tiki is just PO’d his brother is still playing, long after him!
Always wondered, why he quit to begin with? The last three years of his career were his best! Seemed like he was getting better with age?

  7. Pete Dutcher Says:

He quit because he really wanted a career in television.

  8. oar Says:

Television?! Why back to football? I hear there’s an opening on Two and Half Men!

  9. Pete Dutcher Says:

That’s more Big Ben style 😉

In the 1990’s the NFL Priced themselves out of the blue collar fan. Then from 2000 to 2010 the NFL priced themselves out of the middle class and families. Who are they looking to market their product to? I guess the next move will be pay per view!
