Ronde Barber Is Coming Back For 2011

Old man Ronde Barber, old by NFL standards, will return to the Bucs for the 2011 season, so Twittered Jay Glazer of FoxSports.com.
Bucs CB Ronde Barber has decided NOT to retire just yet and just told me today he signed a 1-year deal w the only team he’s ever played for.
This tells Joe that Ronde feels really good about three things:
1) Barber believes the Bucs are on to something special.
2) Barber is in really good health. If he was banged up much at all, he’d likely call it quits.
3) Barber has a hunch there will actually be a 2011 season and that the warring parties between the NFL and the NFLPA will share a peace pipe and agree to a new CBA.

Im glad he will be back. I remember thinking at the end of the Saints game that it might be the last time I will see him on a football field and it was a bizarre feeling. He was killing it that game too.

Two years removed from a house cleaning session by Dom and Rah, they continue to look like they made the right moves. Keeping Barber, while jettisoning the rest of the vets who were, unfortunately, past their prime, was a great exhibit of their evaluation skills.

Rhonde is such a great player, intelligent man, and great representative of town and team. We are blessed every time he steps on the field. And not many deserve that level of respect. One of the all time great Bucs- and should be hall of fame inducted. When his career here ends, I hope he goes straight into coaching our secondary. To much knowledge to lose. He’s coming back, as others have said, for a chance at a second ring. If he believes- who are we to doubt? Welcome back home Rhonde- lOve herding we get to see you Play again!!!

Great great news…..upset that it’s only one yr as I really feel Ronde has a good 3 yrs left….but this is still good news.
Best slot corner in the history of the game…..still a top 10 corner 15 yards and closer to the line of scrimmage. Congrats Ronde, congrats Bucs

this is great news. i think bringing in the young guys re-energized him. i have no doubt that he would have retired a couple years ago if gru/allen were still in charge.

Rumor is that we are talking to former rams safety Asemogh osemohgh . . . Ashethoge osmegmeth . . You know that great safety with the tough name! I think we sign him. Nmanadi o from the raiders, and team them up with Aquib Talib. WR coaches will waste so much time trying to pronouce their names, that they won’t have enough time to get their guys ready. Huge advantage! And I’d buy each one of their jerseys, just cause it’d be cool. Now, we just have to get Corey Grimm to change his name, we’re good!!!

Glad to hear it but I guess this means it’ll be his last year.
I actually think Winslow and Shockey would make a great combo. Plus, Shockey knows the Saints playbook so that would be beneficial to us.

I agree this will be his last year, but it isn’t set in stone. If we make a push, and 2012 is looking good, you never know.

I wouldn’t put too much hope in Mr. Drink-til-I’m-blacked-out-in-Vegas to be too overly cognizant of the Saints offense. Not every player is a wealth of knowledge.

Scholty- Both players mentioned have been cut from their team’s. They aren’t Free agents. Like Bob Sanders, who was cut by the Colts, they can negotiate or sign with anyone. Bob Sanders has actually visited several team’s, including the Jaguars, this week
